Dear Sheena Thank you for taking time to write a review about your stay with us. I have to start by apologizing for the broken lantern and towels not being in the room as that is on us. However , there are a few things we need to address in your comments. 1. The comment about having to get wood from outside yourself is simply not true as one off our managers assisted you with this and the extra wood is placed right outside the door so you can add wood if needed. 2. Unfortunately we can not do anything about power going off as this was due to Eskom(The power supplier) , I had given you candles when you were at the fire place before you headed to bed and unfortunately it is quite difficult giving out hot water bottles to +/- 70 guests. 3. The comment "draughty lodge with lots of gaps" perhaps so unfortunately that is what comes with a building that is over 132 years in age. 4. The comment about the seating in our main area , we can not place couches and furniture around the fire place as it can get quite dangerous as well as it looks extremely untidy. Thus we have to move everything back to its place in the morning and as for the comment that no staff helped you is simply untrue as the managers asked if they can move the chairs and you refused the help. 4.As you stated the Wifi was mentioned on the website thus you would have also read about the signal as these are mentioned together ,we are in a world heritage site so we can not put up any form of towers to help with the signal and Wifi , I should also mention that having +/- 40 on the wifi at a time makes the wifi non existent.
