Quiet and Convenient Stay by the Beach
Our family had a great weekend at the Owls Nest. The location is perfect. If you bring groceries, there is no need for a car. The beach is a short walk away (even with toddlers) and the restaurant at the end of the street is a great place to bring the kids too. The house is clean and spacious and had everything we needed, from beach chairs to Roku.

Beach House with All We Could Want
The house is bright, open, comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed reading on the front porch and dining on the screened porch. The kitchen is well-equipped. The beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, toys, etc., made those we brought unnecessary. The wagon made the half-block walk to the beach, that much easier. The shed had ample room for bike storage and the nearby bike routes were well-marked and lovely. All-in-all, we were able to settle in quickly and vacation seamlessly.

Perfect family destination
My family loves this property for our summer vacation. The home's open floor plan lends itself to just hanging out, cooking meals, watching TV, and catching up on the U-shaped window seat. The guest cottage is a great place to go for those who need a little seclusion. There's plenty of beach toys and gear for all ages, and a nice fire pit to gather around in the evening. The host is very responsive and helpful with any issues that come up during your stay. Can't wait to come back again!!

Wonderful stay!
We had a great 2.5 day stay at Owls Nest with family. The house was clean, fully stocked with everything you could need or want and in a prime location, just a block to the beach. The beach was beautiful. Soft sand, clear blue water and private. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return next year!

Loved out stay at the Owls Nest beach house. Very clean and everything there that you need. Guest house is a cozy cutie with extra space for privacy and down time. Private yard for fun and bon fires. Lovely neighborhood and very close walk to the beach. Quiet clean beach and lots of opportunity to make many wonderful memories. Definitely would visit again. Lovely Accommodation and Location
We are two seniors who shared the house and cottage with our adult children and their families. The cottage was perfect for my daughter and her husband who have a one-year-old. The main house is well accessorized, bright, and airy. We loved sitting out by the campfire in the evening and walking the neighborhood after dark under the stars . The beach is beautiful - fine sand but a little challenging to climb back up for us older folks. We found a more gradual public access a little further down the road. All in all, it was a great success as a family gathering.

Beach Heaven
The Owls Nest is great on many levels. The house is very well stocked with supplies. Had every kitchen utensil we needed and lots of beach toys and furniture. A very short walk to the beach made it all the more enjoyable - you did not fret if you had to walk back to the house for anything. Martin is a great host and we hope to stay at the Owls Nest again someday.

Hosts are easy to work with and respond quickly. Close to beach access but be aware there is a hill and stairs to navigate to get there. All beach toys, chairs, etc. available. Only reason I gave cleanliness a 4 was a lack of attention to detail (large cobwebs in corners)….but it might just be me. Definitely would rent again.

Our home away from home
This was our second stay here and again more great memories were made! Every aspect of our stay was provided for completely. The house and property were spotless and communication with the property manager was easy and quick. It's in a great neighborhood and the neighbors were friendly and a lot of fun. I would recommend this property to everyone because when you get there all you have to do is enjoy, everything you need will be there or just a quick phone away. We're already talking about our next trip!

Perfect family getaway
The house was perfect for our family and just a block away from the beach. It was clean and much bigger than I thought it would be. The teenagers enjoyed having their own space in the bunkhouse. We’ve already booked it again for next summer!

Family vacation beach fun
This has been the first year at the owls nest. I have been coming to Union Pier since I was a little girl and love the area and beached. The propery is such close walk to a beautiful and clean private beach. The house had a beautiful open floor plan that made it very welcoming for our family along with a guest house and screened in porch. The owners had kitchen supplies for cooking and beach essentials to allow less packing. I highly recommend and would rent the Owls Nest again.

Great property near private beach
Recently stayed at the property for a short getaway to enjoy the beach. Property was exactly as described and an excellent location for a very short walk to the beach and the whistle stop for coffee in the morning or to pick up a quick sandwich in the afternoon. Short drive to New Buffalo to walk around the town and enjoy the local restaurants. Appreciated all the amenities that are included with the stay. Would stay here again for a future family trip.

Our family enjoyed our stay here. It was very comfy and we loved the screened in porch. The location was great for the Whistle Stop. Their Lemon Poppy muffins were amazing! Martin was so nice to talk to and checking in and out was very easy. Our only regret was that we didn’t stay longer!

Relaxing and beautiful place to enjoy!
We’ve stayed in the Union Pier area for our family vacation for 10 years and this by far was our favorite! The house is perfect for kiddos and grown ups alike, not to mention beautiful. The location is great for beach access, getting to Town Line road for groceries or gelato and taking neighborhood walks. We enjoyed making many wonderful memories on the water, around the bonfire, and within this very welcoming home away from home!

More spacious than expected
The place is a dream! Lots of space without feeling too disconnected with the other families. A short walk to a beautiful private beach. Lots of beach towels so no need to bring your own. Only hiccup was I couldn’t find a check in email with info on the check in/out but a quick text to the owner and they were able to give necessary info. The space is seriously awesome and we plan to rebook for next summer. The kitchen was well stocked with necessary dishes but lacked spices so I would recommend bringing some. That is the only thing I wish I would’ve brought. The whistle stop is walking distance with some light premium groceries and coffee, and sandwiches for lunch. A very short drive to Black Currant bake house for baked sweet goods and sandwich options (vegetarian and vegan) was our fav. We spent every day on the beach. Beware of mosquitos though.

Family Vacation
Our stay at Owls Nest went beyond my expectations in every way! Truth be told, I over packed as I was not sure what to expect. The owners have thought of everything from beach chairs and towels to a more than well equipped kitchen. This place had everything we needed to make our family feel right at home. We are a family of 6, stayed a full week and it was hard to leave. We will definitely visit this rental again in the future (our kids are already planning the next trip)!

I love this cottage. We rented it two years ago when my son got married in Three Oaks, Tried to rent it last year when our daughter was having a baby shower. Luckily we were able to rent it this year to celebrate our son 40 th birthday. A great place for family to spend time making great memories.

Owl’s Nest was perfect for our family vacation. We had two families and one set of Grandparents. We had plenty of room and were all very comfortable. The location is ideal; close to the beach and the corner store. The house had everything we needed for the beach. Highly recommend!

A Lake Michigan dream!
We knew we wanted a beach day on the Lake but did not anticipate how much our kids would want to keep returning to it and this place offered that quite easily! We also shopped and ate at restaurants in New Buffalo. The house itself has a fenced in yard and great privacy, perfect for our kids. Also, you'll see in the photos a picture of the window seats. The pictures make this area look much smaller than it really is! It was a constant place where multiple people could comfortably relax. Great town, great home.

GREAT PLACE TO STAY & HOST !
My wife & I took my daughter on a vacation here, for her Sweet 16 Birthday gift w/ five of her friends. So we had two adults and five girls 16 & 17 ages. The property was perfect for us. The girls like to have their privacy in the small cottage at times, most of them slept in it w/ a couple air mattresses we brought, but also enjoyed the house for meals & couple additional beds. The kitchen / living room is a great place to hang out with lots of space. The host does an excellent job of communicating during the stay. We highly recommend this property for family / friend vacations.

We had a lovely long weekend at this cottage. People loved lounging in the window seat. Kitchen had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. Kids used balls & toys from the shed (love that you have the wagon to take things to the beach). Beach is a short walk through a lovely neighborhood. There is plenty of wide beach here, unlike areas further north. There is a fire pit for evenings. Neigh hood was busy but quiet. Very close to shops & stores on Red Arrow Highway. Galiene Riverwalk was a nice side trip.

Perfectly Located and Well Stocked Beach Cabin
The owners have thought of everything at this cozy little beach cabin - extra blankets, beach towels, oodles of beach toys, beach chairs, movies, games, magazines, grilling equipment. It was a lovely cabin - the children especially enjoyed hanging out on the huge window seats in the sunshine and walking the short block down to the beach. Great stay!

We enjoyed our time at Owls Nest! If this house is on your list, do yourself a favor and book it! It’s a short (2-3min) walk to the private beach. The shed has chairs and other items to take to the beach which was very convenient. The guest house was a fun area for the kids to have their space to hang out. The layout of the house was ideal with the bedrooms located together and a separate living room on the other end of the house. Our kids loved the nook area for reading and puzzles. We also loved the covered porch for meals. The inside was updated and very clean and had everything we needed. The location was perfect. Not only could we walk to the beach but the area was nice to walk around the neighborhood. Each night you would see people out walking or riding bikes. We had one question come up during our stay and the owner was quick to respond. With everything going on we were looking for somewhere to go that we could relax and do some outdoor/socially distant activities and this was perfect. We would definitely stay here again.

The house is a short walk to the beach (approximately a block down to gated entrance). We loved it. We appreciated how clean and updated the house is overall. - I would say exceptionally clean. The house also is stocked with everything you may need for a comfortable stay and we really loved sitting on the screen-in porch which has cute festive lighting. The owners provided access to their shed which had beach chairs, a wagon, and umbrellas. Honestly, this was a perfect time of year to visit but we did get lucky with the end of September weather being picture perfect. If you are planning to visit and want to eat out, I'd say try to make reservations well in advance as the popular spots in New Buffalo were packed on the weekend. I'd definitely stay in this home again. Thank you to the owners for renting out this gem.

A cozy escape
This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed here. The 1st time was with my family including three small kids and the 2nd was with friends from college. It was perfect with both. Its a close walk to the beach and a small coffee shop. The host was very responsive and accommodating. Would definitely come back for a 3rd stay.

Lakehouse weekend
We absolutely LOVED the property. The little house was perfect for our teenage boys to have their own space, and the rest of us loved the space inside the main house . Screened in porch and the little sitting nook weee our favorites! Ample supplies to make cooking and cleaning up etc comfortable! The parking was great! ( except for our ticket for one car facing the wrong direction 😢) the walk to the beach was not far at all, loved that there were plenty of beach items in the shed! We have been renting an” Lakehouse” on Labor Day weekend for 11 years and this is one of our favorites!

Beautiful Birthday Weekend!
Stunning property in an even more perfect location. The private beach is a very close walk and the property has any and all beach toys, umbrellas, chairs, etc that you could ever need. We loved every minute of our time here and I would recommend it to anyone needing a getaway. Even better, in the times of covid it was perfect as we were able to spend the majority of our time in the beautifal yard, and the is a small seperate building that is a full extra bedroom with a private bath that was perfect for our friends that needed more social distancing due to immune issues. Really really cannot say enough good things. The only thing that was a hiccup was that the listing stated check-out was at 11 am and it is actually at 10 am. So beware of that.
