“This property does a good job adding charm, but at the end of the day it’s still an old renovated motel. Cleanliness could definitely be improved—we dealt with gnats during our stay and even spotted a small roach. If you’re assigned Room 5 or 24, be prepared. Both rooms are extremely small and located right next to the ice machine. Room 5 is especially problematic because it’s on the ground floor beside the supply closet, which staff access around the clock. Every time someone opens the supply……

“We were disappointed that the type Of room we booked months ago was not available due to renovations. The staff was helpful in trying to make up for it, but when your children have had their hearts set on an ocean view for months, nothing short of actually getting the ocean view makes up for it. We do understand the the front desk staff who checked us in did not create the problem and they tried their best to be accommodating.”

“We had an amazing experience staying at the grand at the island grand at tradewinds. From our check in and welcome to the checkout and everything in between was wonderful. Staff was helpful and friendly and went above and beyond. The room and the grounds were clean and well maintained. There are tons of food options and activities on the property as well as a beautiful beach. We are looking forward to come back soon.”

“Good location with easy access over the causeway to Treasure Island and Madeira Beach. Top floor has a bit of a musty smell but Hotel is 110 years old. Wish we had seen some ghosts. Rooms are huge with comfortable bed and good size bathroom. Cold AC just a bit noisy. Breakfast was the best we have had by far at this price point. Good choice for this area.”

“We enjoyed our stay at this unique property. The communication and ease of checking in was excellent and the location exceptional for a quick stay in downtown Gulfport. The stairs were not an issue for us and the amenities were fine. The quirky decor and extra room with a sofa added to the comfort. Two free cocktails that accompanied the room’s description were nice. (We stayed in the Paloma room.) Only one thing was amiss - contrary to the instructions, guests in the hotel did not receive 10%……
