First off, the staff was beyond lovely, the hotel itself has vintage charm and a Tiki vibe I adored. My room was nothing fancy but it was nice comfy bed, and updated as long as you keep in mind it's a heritage hotel. Room was mostly clean but there was a used soap in the shower and hair in the bathroom waste basket, but everything was clean and shiny. Just missed by cleaner.
The really bad part ..My car got broken into in the hotel parking lot. I had literally nothing of value in it. Parked under a light.
I had a folded blanket and grocery bags empty flat on the floor.
I was shocked that the "security" did not alert the hotel staff about my smashed out window...I didn't know anything happened until I checked out. If the Waldorf wants people to return they need to gate that parking lot and get better security. Especially if thieves are breaking into cars for well, nothing of value.
It's a good thing it was sunny and I live an hour out of Vancouver because I literally had to drive home like that. I want to return but apparently this happens all the time in their parking lot. They told me on check in. Which says alot. It's 300$ deductible to replace a smashed out window through ICBC ps. Fix the parking and maybe ask cleaner to pay more attention to detail and I'll come back!! It's a great hotel but it's time to step up on the parking lot Waldorf management. It's a shame really. Such a great affordable hotel. But I can't afford another smashed out window.
