When I checked in I had to wait for her to come back, she was next door at the other hotel. It was not very clean. There was no air conditioning until you got to your room. The outside property looked run down. I do have to say the room was clean.

Staff spoke limited english..property very poorly maintained...breakfast not worth eating..coffee was terrible...reserved room at super 8... was told no rooms available...but they also own Quality, next door...so i was sent there. Neither property looked desireable...but I had been in car for several hours and no where else to go, so i stayed. NEVER AGAIN.

This property is a budget stay. The room was clean. The property is aging, meaning marked up walls that have been painted over with glossy paint over a matt paint. When you walk in the lobby/breakfast area you were greeted with darkness and there are chairs stacked up in the breakfast area which were never used when we were there. We never saw any sign of breakfast served. We went out for breakfast because it was not a desirable area. The parking lot was not taken care of. But if you are looking for a hotel to just sleep, it is OK.

This trip made me realize the importance of choosing a hotel wisely, especially when considering recent reviews alongside the overall rating. I can’t just pick based on the average number of stars people give it. I have to look at the words they write and decide whether I want to stay in that type of environment. The online pictures seemed decent, but when you’re there experiencing it in person, you can tell that the cleaning and maintenance standards fall short. The building’s exterior and interior desperately need attention. The parking lot lines are barely visible, the asphalt is crumbling in several places, and there are missing/broken/unfinished pieces of wood on the front of the building. Inside, the common area is untidy and the front desk phone, which is used to page the staff to the front desk, is sticky. While the room itself doesn’t appear visibly disgusting at first glance, the dirty trim around the doors, the stained chair, the broken curtains, and the missing/broken sink and bathtub stops made it uncomfortable to relax in that space. Although there is evidence of active maintenance and cleaning, they have a long way to go. Deep cleaning needs to happen periodically, not just in the common places you clean (shower, toilet, sink, floor) but everywhere.
