Was pretty disappointed to be honest. The walls appeared to be paper thin because we could hear everything the couple next door was saying in detail. Our room had an adjoining room door that couldn’t be locked so we had nice the desk in front of the door to secure the room. I also regret paying for the buffet breakfast, the convenience didn’t make up for how average it was. Would have been better off exploring one of the many great food options in Wellington. Great Location, good basic gym facility and nice soft beds

Caught an airport bus to the hotel which drops you off at Lambton Quay. There is a lobby lift (near Woolworths) that takes you up to the hotel which is actually located on The Terrace. We weren't aware and trudged with our suitcases around and up the long and steep route. Convenience was great. Lots of eateries nearby. Housekeeping everyday which is fabulous for a busy parent so i appreciated that. Room itself was nice and clean. Would recommend.

It took a little effort to drive into the reception area, but once we were checked in and parked, the hotel was in a great location. We walked many places and took advantage of the bus stops near the Lambton Quay exit. Our family had a very enjoyable experience.

The room was the right size with two giant beds. The heater/AC was not on when we arrived and it was necessary as nights were cold. The hotel was conveniently located after we discovered the lift to Lambton Quay level. Only complaint was that the bed was a little uncomfortable.

Having convenient parking at a reasonable rate was good, however we moved to 3 rooms in 4 nights due to very noisy hotel guests in adjoining rooms. Not sure why the level of guest was so anti-social. Based on this experience we would not return to the James Cook.

There was no soundproofing we could hear the traffic out side and people in the room next to us. We dropped something under the bed and to our horror it was absolutely filthy under there. There was bits of food and a some kind of pill which was unidentifiable. Just grateful that our toddler son didn’t find it and put it in his mouth.
