“This is a very historic hotel with lots of charm. If you want a modern, sterile hotel, don't stay here. If you like floors that have settled with age, friendly and interesting st aff, a great little pub with a good traditional breakfast, and steeped in the history of Scotland, this is a comfortable and safe hotel. I appreciated the value (cost and convenience) which made this stay affordable.”

“There is no staff present and the hosts don't reply when you email them. The rooms are cozy and clean but not sound proof. Breakfast is provided along with fresh eggs but there's no way to cook them other than in a microwave. The bathroom has a tub and a handheld shower, impossible for anyone to shower without wetting the entire bathroom. The bathroom sink is little more than a birdbath. No fan or ventilation other than opening the front door.”

“The Dunalastair was a pleasant surprise at the end of a long and winding road, and I mean that literally! We booked online thinking it would shorten our ride to Edinburgh from Loch Ness because the Expedia website said it was in Pitlochry, but it’s actually 20 miles away from Pitlochry! Since it was a one-night stay and rainy we weren’t able to enjoy all of the property, but the rooms were spacious and modern, the restaurant featured excellent food and service, and the front desk staff was……

“Great place to stay. We stayed in a Mongolian yurt, which was a unique experience, like glamping. The owners are wonderful people who prepared a 5-star breakfast for our family and complemented it with friendly conversation. Overall, it's a great place for people who want to escape soulless hotel chains and create sweet memories.”

“Viel Platz im Zimmer. Aber Betten sehr schmal. Zimmer nicht gut gewartet (Duschhahn hatte Löcher und spritzt in alle Richtungen, Spiegel hängen schief, Fenster zwar funktionstüchtig aber nicht gut gepflegt usw.). Sehr hellhörige (dünne) Fenster, daher laut wegen dem Verkehr draußen (Hotel liegt direkt an der Hauptstraße). Lüftung im Bad hat nicht funktioniert. Licht im Bad hat nur teilweise funktioniert. Frühstück mit kaum Auswahl. Abendessen dort ja, aber kaum Auswahl.”
