I prefer more authentic Costa Rican hotels/resorts vs a chain hotel close to the airport. While the taxi ride was more expensive, I felt it was worth it. It seemed secluded, was quiet, the rooms were extremely clean, there were thermal pools as well as a nice pool area and the included breakfast was definitely a plus! The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced! We had the pleasure of talking with Julian, who was a joy. I always love to learn about different cultures and people from other countries. Would highly recommend this place if you're considering this area. I would love to go back and spend a little more time in this area. My only suggestion is to add a golf cart or something to take people and their luggages to their room. We were at the very back of the resort and it was a bit of a walk with our luggage. All in all a great stay!"
