The whole point of visiting Fairbanks was to see the northern lights in person, and Northern Sky Lodge did not disappoint. Granted we were a bit lucky with clear conditions and aurora activity, but we could literally walk outside the lodge and see the lights in action! Just a heads up - the lodge is a bit far from the main town of Fairbanks, so we bought groceries on the way from the airport for our stay.
