IMPORTANT THINS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

This is Mountain life!! Things here operate much differently then the surrounding larger cities. The weather is unique and the village is too! We are excited to share our home with you and your family but there a few things you should know before you go!

Please visit the village website for info about our area and its amenities.

**GROCERIES: all stores have limited hours know before you go.

Loose Wheels is a gas station/ convenient store/ATV-shop/ Liquor

True Value: is our largest everything store, grocery, hardware store, beer

If you are not picky you can survive off the food here in the village. Just watch store hours if you arrival time is late.

RESTAURANTS: they close early! Call ahead! Early and late season they may be closed entirely.

Pinewoods Resort Restaurant
( has an outdoor patio that’s lovely)

Aunts Sues’s

Martin’s Deli

Hot Mama’s Pizza & Brew

Bring specialties: alcohol or drinks you prefer, dairy free, vegan and gluten-free etc.

Duck Creek is quaint and quite secluded so come prepared and plan to spend some quality family time indoors or out! We are also an ATV community so it is common to hear them throughout the hills.

The Village offers ATV and snowmobile rental. We are centrally located between Bryce Canyon and Zion about 48 miles from both ( approximately 50mn. To both parks.) 2. Use Wunderground.com for weather zip code 84762.
3. We are NOT responsible for getting you on or off the mountain in or out of the cabiN. Please take winter precautions seriously.

ONCE THE SNOW ARRIVES…🌨⛄️❄️
In the winter Highway 14 may or may not have snow on it. The county plows do not plow at night and they start as early as possible to clear roads in the mornings. Once you arrive to the village the drive to the cabin is on snow covered gravel roads. Roads are plowed by slowly Road they often be slippery and freezing conditions are covered with some inches of fresh snow. They may not be cell service for your provider in our area so please come prepared. You will ascend 8500 ft. Winter weather may vary on your journey.

4x4 is REQUIRED Winter months and we always just carrying chains. **If you feel you need chains put them on BEFORE attempting the hills, put them on in them on in a safe, flat, out of the way area. DO NOT BLOCK ROADS especially Movie Ranch/ Meadow Ranch ( it is a hill once past the church) as it is the only access to the community. Do not ask if your 2 Wheel drive can make it the answer is NO!

SNOW REMOVAL: if it snows during your stay your driveway will be blown out if there’s 8” or more. The plow may only blow up to where your car is parked, if you park in the spot left of the cabin the plow should be able to blow the entire driveway. Snow removal on your deck, too and around your car is your responsibility. There will be a shovel on the deck of the cabin. We are in line for snow plow AFTER the main roads, resident and elders.

POWER OUTAGES: in the event of a power outage the only source of heat is from the fireplace and you will have to start the fire for heat. We do not stock wood or fire starters. Plan ahead if there is winter weather and have these provisions. We are not able to provide them for you, there is no Uber, there is no Uber eats, no food delivery! No tow trucks! Be prepared! Yes, the power goes out in the winter weather!

Please keep in mind if you arrive after dark on the Mountain most everything may be closed. Please plan ahead. This is a tiny village community without many winter amenities.

This information is not to discourage your winter adventure but to keep you in form so that you can make the best of your vacation. Please call us anytime to discuss your trip ahead of time so that we can make sure it’s most enjoyable!!!!

Be prepare for Mountain weather! Great place to stay
It’s the little details that gets ya.! We were there at the end of April, Springtime in the mountains! When we arrived there was 2 feet of snow everywhere. Wish there was a photo of that view! Woke up one morning it was snowing. Hubby was happy as a duck to water, me I went back to bed to hibernate! Cabin gave us everything we needed. We did have problems with the heaters not working , but Maria and Donald were prompt in responding the fix. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The place is a great place to recuperate from traveling to Bryce and Zion Canyon. Duck village also had everything we needed, groceries, restaurants and cheapest gas anywhere. It reminded me of my time when I lived in Ennis, Montana. Springtime means wild weather, muddy roads, country living., snowing 25* in the morning 70* by noon. Come here to really get away from the city, mountain air to adapt to the altitude.

Great launching pad for outdoor adventures
Our family loved our stay at your cabin! The location was great and we took day trips to rockhound near Cedar City, Zion, Kanab, Snow Canyon State Park and Bryce. There were thoughtful touches throughout the cabin including dog bowls, mud towels, games, movies, and labeled light switches. The only downsides were the lack of laundry facilities and the steep, muddy roads in Duck Creek.

Awesome mountain retreat!
Charming, well kept, mountain retreat perfectly placed between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Woke up each morning surrounded by cedar and aspen trees with birds chirping and turkeys gobbling. Spent our days at the parks, but it was a welcoming return after long days at the parks to kick back and relax with a roaring fire.

Beautiful Property
Only downfall was the roads were NOT plowed during the 4 days we stayed so getting into neighborhod was rough. There were disks to play on and most anything needed for our trip. The water was amazing and HOT even after 3 showers back to back. Beautiful night skies and quiet neighborhood.

Perfect Escape
We enjoyed our stay in this nice cozy cabin. If you are looking for a quiet getaway, I would highly recommend staying here. The beds were comfortable and the cabin was equipped with all necessities. Being that we were up in the winter months, we arrived just after a snow fall. The roads getting up to the mountain were fine but once you get to Duck Creek, the roads are plowed, but still covered snow. We had 4 wheel drive, which came in handy on a side roads near the cabin. If you enjoy hiking and want to see some amazing scenery, Bryce Canyon is about an hour away.

We had a great time staying at this cabin as a family. Great location and the owners gave us a lot of helpful information that made our stay easier. The VRBO post says dogs are allowed, but the book in the cabin says they are not. I would double check with owners about this before bringing a pet.

We had a great stay here, you’re close enough to run into town and get supplies but far enough away from everything else. It snowed while we were there and that was great. Would stay here again if we came to this area again, about an hour drive to either Bryce Canyon or Zion

Centralized location btwn all the national parks
We had a great 3 night stay at this cute little cabin perfect for our family of 4. We wanted something fairly centralized to all the national parks and in a more remote location and this fit the bill. Fire pit was great for s’mores and kitchen had plenty of cookware for making meals in the mornings and evenings.

Duck Creek Village Cabin
The cabin was just what we were looking for. In the forest and yet it was close enough to every place we wanted to go. The cabin was cozy and comfortable. We loved the fireplace and the firepit. The deck was also something we really liked. The kitchen appliances were nice, but it was lacking in the bakeware area. Fortunately, we took our own skillets and cookie sheets. My biggest complaint is that we were so busy going places that we did not get to enjoy the deck and firepit as much as I would have liked. I could have spent all day on the deck. It was so relaxing, and I loved all the trees surrounding the property. We saw deer and several different kinds of birds, and a chipmunk and a rock squirrel. Overall, we loved our stay.

Duck Creek Cabin
Lovely location and cabin. Just a few comments. There was only one teaspoon and only four glasses. There were no wine glasses. The bed in the downstairs bedroom needs to be flipped as there is a depression in the middle. Also the light at the driveway entrance shines in the window and is not blocked by the old metal blinds./, so we moved upstairs. There are no bedside lights in the upstairs bedrooms. Small things. We really enjoyed our stay.
