Nice place.
Clean, beautiful construction, very secluded (but trains passing 24 hours a day only a few yards away). Great place for maximum of 4 people. Centrally located for both East and West park entrance although still a fair drive away. All amenities for cooking. Would definitely stay here again. Hosts very kind and accommodating.

Exceptionally clean and conveniently located to both west and east entrances to Glacier National Park. Master bedroom and full bath on ground level with kitchen, 1/2 bath, and living space located upstairs. Taller folks might find kitchen space somewhat uncomfortable to work in and regular rail traffic nearby are the only downsides to this fantastic home base for a great Glacier NP getaway! We’d definitely stay here again and enthusiastically recommend to others!

Wonderful, comfortable and cozy accommodations that were extremely clean. When returning to Glacier National, we’d certainly stay here again. It was safest we ever felt, with the possibility of bears being in the vicinity. Jack & Barb

This is the clearest place I’ve ever stayed. And the supplies available to you are endless. It’s a very convenient secluded area right in between the east and west entrance’s of Glacier National Park. Roz and Mike are great host.

Beautiful and Peaceful. Great Location.
We took the train to the Essex, MT station, had a Turo waiting there and drove the 2 miles to this beautiful location. The carriage house was simple and welcoming. The host had great personal touches. Because this is halfway from the St. Mary's and West Glacier entrances to the park we had our pick everyday of where to go.

Lovely cabin in the woods
We greatly enjoyed our time at Roz's and Mike's place. Roz welcomed us when we arrived, but after that, they allowed us plenty of privacy, though let us know we could contact them at any time if we had questions. The place was spotless when we arrived, and we appreciated the amenities (including the grill, which we used one night). Although the downstairs bedroom and bathroom were on the cool side, the wall heaters worked well and heated everything up quickly. Similarly, the peace and quiet of the forest were wonderful, even with the train coming through at regular intervals (sometimes). All in all, it's a great place, and we'd definitely stay there again. :)

Trip to Glacier National Park
Property was very well maintained. Everything was clean and there was a nice welcome basket. Excellent location for visiting Glacier National Park. Although the rental was attached to another home had a lot of privacy amd never noticed the home owners. It is near railroad tracks but it was not an issue. Would definitely stay here again.

Great base for West Glacier
Roz was a wonderfully thoughtful and attentive host, both before and during our stay. The lodging was perfect for the 2 of us, and could easily deal with 4 or 5 people. We had everything we needed, and more. We were 30 mins from the West Glacier entrance which was very convenient for the stunning “going to the sun road”. The drives to St Mary’s and Many Glaciers were longer, but scenic in their own right.

Perfect and peaceful
Location was perfect. Away from the crowds but was close enough to participate in any activity in West Glacier. Property was very clean and surrounded by trees and flowers. Roz met us as we drove in and was very helpful in giving us suggestions for rafting and other activities. If we get back this way from Texas will definitely stay again. You should try it…you won’t be disappointed.

Cozy, Perfect for a Couple
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mike and Roz’s. It was very clean and the amenities were great, especially the A/C unit upstairs! We are from Louisiana and enjoy ice cold A/C. Downstairs we cracked windows and it helped, except when we had to run the dryer. The dryer is not ventilated to the outside, so downstairs would get quite warm. We were told that Verizon would have service but we had no service while we were there and the Wifi is very slow, so if you need to work or access the Internet you may be out of luck here. We would also agree with previous guests that the bed was too soft. Overall we had a great time and it was a cozy place to come back to after long days exploring Glacier. The views out front are beautiful with the mountains in the background.

Stay at Roz and Mike's carriage house near Essex Montana
The place was so clean, well-stocked and in a very good location between the two park entrances of Glacier National Park. I really liked the rustic feeling of the carriage house. Roz gave us a lot of information regarding things to see and do while we were here. Would definitely return and also recommend to family and friends. It was great!

Central location to glacier national park
Owners of this property are very nice- such a remote peaceful setting. Train just behind property but got used to it quickly. We really enjoyed having a game table where we played games often when we weren’t hiking. It’s still a 2 hr drive to many glacier but only an hour to Columbia falls and west side of park. Logan’s pass wasn’t open due to snow so we wouldn’t have been able to travel the Going-to-the-Sun road anyway. Home is dated but very clean and upstairs seating was comfortable. Bed was not comfortable to us but everyone sleeps differently. Kitchen had all we needed and we did eat at home more since long drive to restaurants. Was a great trip!!

Sensational vibe
When we stepped out of the vehicle the smell of the pine trees was just phenomenal. I had read other reviews and learned that the rental was attached. So naturally I was concerned about privacy. However, it does not share a wall and it is very private!!! We only saw the owner once and it was us who did the greeting and Roz was very friendly and informative. The place was immaculate! It had everything one could need including bear spray and a foam ice chest!!! We didn’t use them, but it was good to know. We slept with the windows open and let the cool breeze and fragrant smell lull us to sleep every night. It was very dark and we saw so many stars. They do have a train that passes and I knew that before booking so I brought ear plugs. However, I didn’t use them. The train sound was cool and made me feel like I was in the wild Wild West! It was a wonderful stay worth every penny and we will be back! We also saw a fox on the property which was a bonus. There was one thing that was less than perfect and it was the bed. It was really really soft and I know most people probably like that but I’m a stomach sleeper so I didn’t. However, I stretched my back every morning before leaving for the parks and I was fine!!!
