The house was very clean, beds comfortable, and check in staff were very nice. There were, though, several little things that made our stay less than perfect and therefore rate lower. If none of the following things bother you (or if you can plan around them), it was a really place and very conveniently located.
Our issues:
- check in staff gave us only a keycard (which was actually for the pool). At the house it was obvious we needed a traditional key and a garage opener to get inside. So all six of us had to return to the check in desk (it was TOO HOT to sit ouside).
- The house accommodated six guests but the living room had one couch (3 people) and two chairs (1 person each), which meant that one of us had to sit on the floor. We are mature adults and floor sitting was not ideal.
- Six bath-size towels were provided; no swim towels for the pool.. We had to do laundry because we had to use the same towel for bathing and for the pool. None of us wanted to do laundry during our vacation. But the house did come with two packages of dish detergent.
- There are three bedrooms, each with it’s own bathroom. The middle room (with a traditional tub/shower) had a defective drain and shower spout, which caused water to quickly backup in the tub while showering. To prevent this, the occupants had to take a ‘military’ shower (I.e., turn off faucet after each phase of shower) or stand in ankle deep water.
- Replacement toilet paper, paper towels, and garbage bags were not provided. We started with an already-used roll of paper towels so we quickly ran out. If a place chooses to do this, it would be helpful to let the parties know so they can prepare in advance.
- One small bar of soap was provided in each bathroom so bar soap was not available for both sink (to wash hands) and in the shower. (Gel soap was provided for shower.)
- NO dish towels in kitchen (and we ran out of paper towels quickly).
- Limited number of dishes so that we had to wash between every meal to have enough clean dishes for each meal.
- Interior door into garage automatically locked (and we couldn’t figure out how to unlock it), so people either got trapped in the garage or the door had to be blocked open - which quickly affected the inside temperature.
- The air conditioning was set to a programmed schedule, which took us a while to figure out. Until we did, the AC returned to its scheduled temp (80 degrees), which was too hot inside., even thought we changed it per instructions.
