What was unique was that you failed to even contact the hotel. We lost over four hours with you getting a replacement for the reservation that you bungled and had to give up on ever seeing Lake Placid at all. Travel through the hills to a site with nothing to recommend in the way of tourism was uncertain and stressful. We have used your service on a number of occasions and are extremely disappointed and will think twice when the next opportunity arises

Lots of issues with check-in and room keys. Overall, you get what you pay for... The staff were trying. The pool and hot tub were nice. The sheets/bed were clean, but bathroom could have been cleaner. The breakfast was sub-par. If I had to choose between staying here again or paying $100 more per night somewhere else... I'd stay here again :)

This property Rodeway Inn did not have a clean room for me (after sending me to a very dirty room with the door open). They just said we don’t have staff to clean their room. They did not offer me another one. I had to sleep in my car. Expedia also said they followed up but sorry the property won’t refund my fees because it was an unrefundable booking. So both the Rodeway Inn and Expedia have in effect cheated me. I hate to pursue other means to ensure they pay, but what a terrible property and staff. Don’t stay here. By the way, there were other people in the same situation. It may be a general scam that this Inn is operating where they are pocketing money but not providing the service paid for.

Came to check in and the very rude woman, if you can even call j r that, at the front desk told us we had no reservation and there was no room for us. Didn't even try to make things right basically just ignored us. After two hours miraculously some more competent employees found a room for us. Room was dirty and past due for some updating. Lock on the bathroom door didn't work, nice. I can look past the shoddy hotel room, I just want a room when I go someplace hours from home. No one wants to be told they don't have a room when they're miles from home with no where else to sleep...

We checked in & the young girl checking us in was curt & rather rude. We found out when we got into our room that the television remote didn’t work, it wasn’t changing the channel. When I went to the front desk she said she’d tell the maintenance worker to come & fix it. We were out for the whole day & when we returned to the room the tv still wasn’t fixed. I went to the office & she said the best thing I can tell you is turn it off then back on the maintenance guy left at 3. We weren’t planning on watching tv our whole stay that’s not why we came to lake placid but you can understand our frustration. Not the nicest place for $160 a night

Don't be fouled by the price tag. you will get much less what you paid for. There were no renovations since maybe 1990s - stained, dirty hallway and room carpets, stained chairs, bathroom mold, towels so old, that they don't even feel fluffy. But the worse part is smell- the smell of tobacco and bleach was unbearable. I think management and owner don't care about this property- they are tanking every penny they can before totally ruining it.

Great affordable stay, good location. Nice pool and great hot tub. Skip the breakfast and go into town. The associate who checked us in was doing several jobs at once and was friendly, professional, and efficient.

Property is not in great shape. Stains all over the carpets, felt like I couldn’t walk around without shoes on. Shower curtain was gross. It did the job though. Came to lake placid for hiking and really only needed a place to crash at night.

Hotel looks like it was built for the 1980 Olympics and never renovated. It's too far outside of the town to walk to Lake Placid. Breakfast was very sparse, no eggs or meats, but they did have a cool pancake machine. Would have been OK if it was cheap, but at nearly $200 per night we were pretty disappointed. If you're on a budget, stay at a better hotel a few miles away in a neighboring town. You'll have to drive anyway.

I really liked the hot tub, it was clean and inviting. The bathroom could have been cleaner as I saw a stray hair in the shower and the water in the tub was a slow drain. Otherwise it was good for the price.

The room was clean but a little smelly and definitely outdated. I would not want to stay in the winter as there are significant gaps around the door that need to be insulated. We didn’t chance using the pool or hot tub since the water in both appeared to be a green milky colour

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean the room was and by the facilities in general. A nice little indoor pool and spa was a great distraction while we waited for the rain to stop. It is easy distance to Lake Placid and Whiteface. Oh and the staff were quite accommodating and friendly.

Worst hotel experience ever
The room was extremely dirty. I smell strongly of urine. The shower head came off the shower when it was turned on. I reported these issues to the onsite manager, but the shower was never repaired and we had to go without.

Neither the front or back door locked. The room required 2 remotes to operate 1 tv and there were no directions for it (took us 30 mins to get the channels to come up on the TV). You initialled and paid for your stay before the rules were explained (you had to ask what you were initialing before any explanation was given. Room was VERY dated.

Girls night away
We arrived and check in was very fast and the person was very friendly. Our room was neat and clean. Property was quiet. We enjoyed the pool and spa. It was a girls night away and was just what we were looking for at a reasonable rate. We will definitely return, hopefully in the fall!!
