I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any USA Tourists to visit this hotel because the front desk employees and Ernesto the hotel front desk manager are beyond rude no smiles. My first room the restroom didn't work and I was attacked by bees! 91 Bar and restaurant employees and housekeepers were truly amazing to me and my mama! It feels that the higher the position they have in this hotel they feel they could treat people a certain way! Not my cup of tea! I have traveled a lot and this the worst customer service I have experienced. Barcelon Karmina tourists love to come back to great customer service not rude service that I received! Front desk staff are the first people we interact with arriving to check in our rooms and it was beyond disappointed. My booking said it was VIP benefits, it wasn’t. I wasn’t use to that type of customer service.

This was one of the most beautiful resorts I have stayed at. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the adult only pool.

The hotel bathroom was not in good condition. The door where you used to bathe did not close the shower. It was broken. The walls were very bad. I will not stay again.

I did not like the music at the pool. It was so loud you couldn't carry on a conversation let alone read a book or nap. The chairs were empty in that are because no one could stand it. This made all other areas overcrowded with no where to sit.

After we got our room sorted out, we had a great stay at the resort. It's been a while since I have been able to come back and my memories were still accurate! The service staff was friendly and helpful (and really kind in helping my efforts to speak Spanish!). My foodie family was impressed by the quality and variety of food there, every meal was excellent. The pool areas were well maintained and not crowded, as was the beach area. Public bathroom areas were exceptionally clean, as was the rest of the resort. We loved being able to easily walk into the city to look around and shop, and felt comfortable walking around like we were back home. Overall, it was a great stay and a wonderful surprise for my family. The only recommendations I would make would be to turn down the music at poolside a bit as we had to move so we could talk from one area, but we moved to a beautiful spot overlooking the beach, so I wasn't mad about it at all. 😊

We stayed at Barcelo Karmina for one week for a family of five first resort experience and this place set the bar so high. The service is exceptional, staff are friendly and engaging, they work very hard to make your stay accommodating and satisfying. Food was delicious, so many options and we ate at all 3 restaurants options where they offered very well organized and creative meals. Servers in every Restaurant and buffet were amazing. Cleanliness was beyond expectation. The entire resort is so clean and room was cleaned everyday with very nice and accommodating cleaners. We participated in many activities that are offered hourly and the night shows are amazing, so much effort and organization put into these shows! The views and sights are breathtaking, so many beautiful places to take pictures and you never run out of things to do. If anything did go wrong, the staff always made sure to meet requests as soon as possible. Overall I cannot wait to come here again, usually I feel home sick after one week but I was bitter about leaving! This place feels like a second home!

This is a lovely property. Our guest room, was very well equipped, even had a magnifying mirror in our bathroom. The hotel, gardens and pools are spotless and so was our room, which was cleaned everyday as well as our balcony. The restaurant choices were also very good, as well as the buffet. The staff were excellent - very helpful and attentive. This property is older, so shows a bit of wear, but it did not take away from the ambience for us. We would definitely recommend this property.

Most of the staff were friendly some were not. The food was mediocre, we had four A la Carte meals and only 1 was extremely good, two were good and one was quite disappointing. The drinks were plentiful but not great, there were no real "tropical " drinks and all the margaritas were very sweet and had an artificial taste. The posted times for the bars and restaurants were not followed and they were closed quite a bit of the time. The latest bar (the lobby bar) closed at midnight. The property was well kept, clean and quiet. I had a good trip but I would not stay here again.

Activities weren't always consistent to schedule. Mexican specialty restaurant was subpar. Grill restaurant wasnt always open as scheduled. Buffet restaurant always had same food, not much differed day by day. PLUS SILIDE Staff was excellent & property Very clean

This is a beautiful hotel, the cleanliness was top tier, the service was excellent and I cannot wait to be back. They were constantly gardening the grounds, checking the pH levels of the pools and mopping up any areas where people were dripping water. I do have a couple of criticisms. I was supposed to receive a bottle of wine and it was not in my room when we arrived. I did go to the concierge to make a reservation and I mentioned it, she was supposed to have one sent to my room and I don’t know if that happened while we were exploring but I never got my bottle. I was disappointed because the Mexican restaurant was closed for the day I wanted the reservation and it was already booked for the next day. Definitely book those reservations in advance as the food at the buffet isn’t terrible but I wouldn’t call it fine dining either. My main concern was the lack of accessibility. When we got there, my uncle asked if they rented electric scooters and the front desk clerk laughed because she assumed he was joking. They did provide a wheelchair but it’s hard to get around the steep areas. Even with the wheelchair, they requested we bring it back to the front when we weren’t using it which is a hassle. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back soon! 10/10 to Roger who never let my drinks run out when I was sitting poolside.

Setting was beautiful. Our room was clean and tidy, but is looking a bit tired. Little maintence issues like the shower door would not close, the furniture is scratched and marred. The pool needs some attention (broken tiles, etc.) the ice maker on our floor was broken the entire time. The buffet food was very average and could use a lift. Mostly the same items each night though the themes supposedly changed. Overall it was a nice stay, it is just not a 4-5 star property in its current condition.
