1. Chilamate Rainforest Beach Retreat

Nosara

"Unsure what makes this an eco retreat aside from the fact they ask you to bring your own water bottle to refill with water they provide and there is no hot water for showers. The property has a lot of potential but it felt maybe slightly neglected. "Small, cozy, friendly, quiet....we stayed for a month in the jungle of Guanacaste with Gary and his dog, Wally! The pool is wonderfully shady in the afternoons, Gary is a warm and friendly host, helpful and kind. We were looking for someplace near to beaches, great sunsets, and no crowds....meeting the locals, shopping the local markets, etc. This is the perfect spot to just sit back and relax."

"I stayed at Nakanku Lodge from mid January to mid February 2024 accompanied by my little Maltese dog, Lulu. Everything was wonderful! The tropical garden setting was beautiful. I loved the pool and easy proximity to beaches. The outdoor kitchen was so fun as it generated opportunities for community and conversations with other guests. Gary was a super host! Hope to return next winter! Pura vida!"

Domo Nosara Boutique Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel was very clean, quiet and the staff was very friendly. We stayed in the loft room and it was perfect. The little kitchen with everything you need. It was nice to walk in to a cool room after a hot day. Jeffrey was welcoming, helpful and always a phone call away."

Coco Nosara | New Luxury 2BR Villa | Pool | Yoga | 10-Min Walk to Guiones Beach

10/10 Excellent

"This was an amazing find, the units were modern and clean, and the property was in great condition, and amazing amenities. The road going into and out of the property was a little difficult to deal with, but would stay here again. The host was amazing with communication, and provided tons of recommendations."

Esh Hotel and Spa, a Member of Design Hotels

10/10 Excellent

"We had a great week at Esh! The staff was very friendly and attentive. We loved the property and the pool. We made use of the sauna and cold plunge daily. We even saw monkeys while hanging out on the property. Yeh breakfast was delicious and plentiful keeping us full to start the day. Although the probably is a bit outside of town, the shuttle service is convenient to get to and from t e Esh to town."
