“Beautiful, seculded hilltop estate with great view and beautiful grounds. Nice pool. Hosts were warm and inviting and dinner of regional cuisine was good. Rooms are large and relatively sparse with minimal amenities, and beware there is no A/C. Breakfast was simple. They produce award winning olive oil available for purchase.”

I was delighted to learn that Pope Saint John Paul II slept in this place when it was still a religious site. If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this is not for you. If you want a place that is clean, comfortable and offers peace and tranquility near Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Spello, … this place is perfect! It also has parking on site.”

“Outstanding location , with breathtaking views of Umbria from atop of the hill on which the small town of Bettona is located . During the 13th and 14th centuries the hotel was a hospital and an orphanage . Wasn’t thrilled with the restaurant , but that of course is a matter of taste. All in all , I enjoyed the 3 night stay , using it as a base to visit Perugia (30 minutes drive) and Assisi (also 30 minutes). Just plan the parking locations near the major sights , otherwise , it’s an arduous……
