"The 2 most important things to me at any hotel are the bed and the shower. The shower was really nice with good shampoo and lotion. The bed was lumpy and the pillows, although not real feathers (which is good) were too dense for me but my spouse liked both the bed and pillows. The required valet parking was the best service - very attentive staff. One of the reasons we picked this property was because of the on-site restaurant and room service because of limited mobility. But ...had to hunt for a room service number (no phone in the room) and once I found it I got the finance office answering machine. I decided to call the front desk and ask for the restaurant (and let them know the room service number wasn't right). They didn't answer. I decided to walk down to the restaurant and order. No one was attending the hostess station and I was ignored for 5 minutes. We ended up walking across the street in the rain and had a great meal at Churchill's. The hotel does have a nice, self-service mini mart (automated check out), but they seem to think this should replace all your casual dining needs, as their website and menus, etc. direct you there. This was frustrating for the price of the room - we did pay extra for the river view and we liked the other room comforts, so this property receives 3 stars for value. If we were to go back to Savannah, we would probably try a different property."

"So knowing this is an old hotel you are getting the creaky floor charm along with things like a noisy ac, but very cold! We stayed in a room on the street with the balcony porch. As others mentioned, it is a very noisy street. The sad part was we couldn’t enjoy it bc there is a homeless lady who sits by the entrance & constantly hacks loudly and throws up!! It was absolutely disgusting. Something should be done. It would benefit all involved. Just telling what we experienced on a daily basis. Would have loved to be able to drink wine from the rockers and people watch. Breakfast was great and the wine hours are entertaining. The bistro next door is fabulous!! A dark & cozy steak house vibe."

"Human review here, trust me. The complimentary parking was appreciated. You just need to go through rough, but short, cobble driveway to get in. My arrival was late, yet we were greeted by a gentleman who offered to help us with our luggage. He was very appreciated. Now, let's talk about the room. I think my room was named Kon Taka, similar to Kon-Tiki - below the main level. The bedroom was not bad. It contained a flat-screen LCD television with a screen size of about 27" or 32". The bed was a queen, a bit stiff but I slept well. The bath robes were not bad. Long hallway between the section that connects the bathroom/bedroom to the living room. I liked that. The room also has a side kitchen with full-size fridge and small sink, Keurig, and a few drink glasses. The living room was alright, classic - cloth couch and separate chair, desk with chair, some paintings and a TV of about 40" or so. It was nice having a living room like that, but wouldn't want more than three people in that living room at a time. It smelled a bit like paint, but I got used to it. They give earplugs in case you hear noises from outside. I heard some mild sound that might have come from the adjacent room but it was only for a few moments. The place ain't bad. It's got genuine, thick wooden plank floors, the kinds that probably were used to build schooners in the 1800s, not the flat ones commonly sold at flooring stores these days. Try it for a night for an experience. And they gave two free water bottle"

"Room/ bathroom clean. Bed comfy, shower great pressure, clean linens daily Friendly staff which was a breath of fresh air when it feels like a lost art these days. Perfect location… dining/ shopping walking distance"
