The Hyatt Regency Savannah is conveniently located on the Savannah River in downtown and had friendly staff for the most part, but it didn’t make up for the fact that there was:
- Lengthy check in process
- Room had no wash cloths
- Not enough towels. Only three, but we were four guests.
This lack of attention to detail costs time, and these are precious minutes my family and I will never get back since we were on the phone with the front desk remediating the problems.
After a night on the town and returning to our room late, the last thing you want to do is call the front desk to have them bring you washcloths. You simply want to shower and get some rest.
- Valet parking to retrieve items was laborious. Because of all the controls in place and location of the car, it took an excessive amount of time simply to get the key, and retrieve belongings from my car.
Valet parking is mandatory at this location. Valet parking is supposed to be a convenience, but when it is easier to do things yourself, it is painful waiting on others to do something as fundamental as parking a car.
- You can’t get the buffet and enjoy breakfast overlooking the River. Sad.
Staff was kind and helpful, but guests shouldn’t have to draw attention to problems.
The hotel offers amenities, but why settle for a cookie cutter hotel experience when there is life and culture in Savannah surrounding you? Furthermore there are more affordable and historical properties in the area.
