Seward
We were in the bottom unit which was very noisy if there were guests upstairs! We could hear every footstep. The unit is basement, so it’s a little musty smelling. The owner does have a dehumidifier running in the bedroom. The unit is clean and well stocked. The location was good for hiking and adventures based out of Seward. We liked having the grill and we sat on the porch bar stools watching eagles!

Perfect spot to decompress
We are local Alaskan's who traveled to Seward for a weekend of decompression and to enjoy the area. The lodging was perfect for our needs. It accommodated two friends who just wanted to unwind, enjoy nature, rest and relax. The lodging was clean and had everything we needed. The hosts were easy to get in touch with (although we didn't need anything). The area is amazing and we had a wonderful time kayaking with Sunny Cove in Resurrection Bay and beach combing at Lowell Point and 4th of July beach. One of our favorite meals was at the Flamingo Lounge.

Perfect place for our needs!
Was a great place for myself and two daughters… felt spoiled after cabin camping and went on to tent camping after. Shirley even provided an air mattress so we could each have our own bed after sleeping side by side all week lol. Beautiful kitchen and bathroom!

Seward adventure
We had a great time in and around Seward despite the days of rain. The house was perfect. Great view. We saw and heard eagles a number of times from the porch. Shirley is great to work with. Quick to respond and very helpful

Nice stay
Enjoyed our stay. Had a problem finding the house. Used Waze which took us to what appeared to be a random location on Seward Hwy. after some thinking realize the property near by. But after a long travel day was frustrating. Also had confusion as to whether we rented the top apartment or the lower apartment. A quick call to host corrected my confusion. Unit was clean and comfortable.

Nice house located outside of town In a Quiet area.
This was a nice quiet place for two of us to stay. We did not spend a lot of time In The house but found it clean and as described in the listing. Check in and out process was easy. We were happy to be outside of traffic in town.

Clean and Comfortable Cabin
Great place to stay! Beautiful view and porch area. Clean and comfortable. Check in/out process was simple and Shirley was readily available. I would recommend if you are a light sleeper to opt for the top floor vrbo that is also offered. Foot steps were quite loud and I could hear the person above me snoring.

Thoughtfully done, and squeaky clean!
We enjoyed our brief stay at the Seldovia House, just a few minutes outside of Seward. The decor is charming, the bed comfortable, and the shower delightful! Many thoughtful touches, as well as a pretty view, made it a great place for us to stay.

Wish all properties were this welcoming
From the moment we walked in the door we knew we had chosen well when we booked this property. Everything is of fine quality - the sheets were luxurious and the towels brand new and soft and dense. The living area is large and accommodating. The kitchen is high class and plentifully equipped with everything you could need. A Keurig machine and K-cups sat on the counter. Countertop and backsplash look brand new. We especially appreciated the gas grill.

Great Hideaway - Everything Close And Still Feels Remote
We spent 8 days here, the home was very welcoming, the views were great, the hosts were friendly and responsive. We'll be back. The interior of the home was bright with lots of windows to see the forest and mountains around you, and the blackout curtains were perfect for keeping out the Alaskan midnight light when it was time to sleep. Trailhead to an amazing hike (Lost Lake Trail) was just 2 minutes away with fresh berries everywhere and views of Resurrection Bay and surrounding peaks along the way. Just 5 minutes from town for those grocery store trips. BBQ grill on property for grilling up fresh fish or anything else. Fresh grilled salmon for breakfast is hard to beat. Nice picnic table, chairs, and fire pit for catching up on the day's adventures. Covered space over lower unit landing was perfect for morning coffee and evening drinks, watching the mountains or a bald eagle perched across the road. The home is up-slope on a hill, which gives you some nice views. Very happy, already wishing we were still there.

Great place to stay near Seward.
The Seldovia House is the lower part of a two story guest house. Very tastefully build and furnished, very comfortable. The only down side is that the noise from the guests upstairs was loud and intrusive of sleep- we heard every footstep and water running when they came in late at night. But for just two nights it was a pleasure to stay there.

Beautiful view and extremely nice accommodations in Seward area!
This basement apartment is beautiful and well maintained. It was just outside of town which we loved as it was not in the middle of the many people visiting Seward during the 4th of July! We loved the view from the large windows at the kitchen bar where we ate our meals! It overlooks a snow capped mountain. The kitchen is very nice and is well equipped. Loved the Kureig coffee maker. The living area is spacious and comfortable. The owners have an Amazon account set up for movie watching. That was nice! The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Overall the apartment was perfect for my husband and myself during our wonderful visit to Seward. The only thing that bothered us was the guests upstairs were noisy. Footsteps and movement of items across the floor etc were very noisy. I don’t know what can be done to prevent this problem but maybe some insulation between the floors would have been good. This is the only reason for giving this VRBO a 4 rating. Shirley was prompt in communication and directions and instructions were very clear. This is probably the cleanest VRBO we have ever stayed in! Thank you Shirley for making our stay in Seward so comfortable and pleasant!

Great place to stay
A beautiful apartment with a terrific kitchen! It was very comfortable and quite spacious. Also, it has very quick and easy access to town. My wife and I really enjoyed ourselves there. The only drawback is that one can easily hear the comings and goings of the people in the upstairs unit. The floor of the upstairs unit does not have much sound insulation, and footsteps and loud conversations can be easily heard in the downstairs unit. Next time we will definitely go for the upstairs unit, and we will be careful not be too noisy!

Great place minutes from Seward
Don't let it scare you that this home is out of town, 5 minutes-ish with a car and you can see the highway from the deck/front of the house- no chance of getting lost. Newly redone, clean and adorable- we loved our stay here. Thanks.

The space is beautifully done + central to town while still feeling secluded
The unit is clean, spacious and modern. It's less than 10 minutes into the main part of Seward and we appreciated being a bit out of the tourism bubble. Kitchen had everything we needed to whip up quick meals and the heater worked great for the chillier nights. We didn't spend a ton of time in the unit as we were out exploring - but if you're planning on staying in more you may opt for the upstairs unit as we could hear our upstairs neighbors walking around from down below. There was also a larger family up there for our stay so it may depend on who is above you as well. Would definitely recommend the guest house for your stay in Seward - you can't go wrong, the town is magic!
