Big Doc Cabin is a cozy two bedroom, 1200 square foot cabin nestled on twenty-five acres at the end of a private road. It is perfect for a small family or small group of friends. It has beautiful views of Big Doctor Lake and the surrounding woods make it the perfect cabin getaway in all seasons. A recent addition of a barrel sauna and new deck are highlights of the property. Golf courses, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, biking, hiking, and snowmobile trails are nearby.
The property has 1100 feet of shoreline that offer sweeping views of the lake, plant, and animal life. The wooded area behind the house creates a beautiful natural privacy. It is the perfect balance of natural setting, year-round accessibility and lake usability. Big Doctor lake is low traffic, nine feet deep, framed by cattails and pickerel offering pan, bass, and northern fishing. The cabin is equipped with two canoes and two paddleboards. Bring your own lifejackets. Swimmers and non-swimmers alike, please use caution in/around the lake. Please monitor children near or in the lake at all times. For other outdoor activities, there are two fire pits and bean bag boards. If you are bringing a boat, the public access boat launch is a half mile to the east.
The cabin property includes 25 acres to the northeast. It is great for watching animals, birds, and insects. You are welcome to hike and explore, but some of the land is wetland. Even in the summer, waders are necessary for parts. Also, it is important to note that since it is a wilderness area, there are mosquitos and ticks. Mosquitos and ticks are peak during their hatch in late spring/early summer. Bring your bug spray and check thoroughly for ticks. We recommend giving dogs a fresh dose of Frontline before visiting.
