“Lovely quiet setting. Relaxing and comfortable. Good shower.
Decor a bit dated but it is a historic and unique property which is nice.
Golf on the site. Hairdresser and spa treatments. Great theatre nearby. Walking trails including up to 15th century Castle ruins. ”
“The building and grounds are beautiful. Staff are amazing and amazing 5 star touches such as a drink on arrival, freshly made biscuits in the room. They also gave us a complimentary drink in our room due to it being our anniversary.
What lets this place down slightly is the room. Whilst it was still very nice it was on the small side and the shower is the main thing which is not good enough. It’s an old shower head which looks like something you would get in a travel lodge and water pressure……
“Lovely grand property awaits you when you drive in. We had a garden room in a newer part of the hotel. It's fair yo say it could do with a bit of facelift but nevertheless the room was clean, the bed very comfortable and extremely quiet. Buffet breakfast is very good - a huge choice for all including vegans. We tried the spa/pool which was really nice too! ”
“Enjoyed staying at The Bear. Lovely staff team. Room quite basic but clean. Breakfast was fine with hot menu choices but limited buffet and only one coffee offered. Restaurant for dinner was very good, food excellent.”
“A very comfortable hotel with attentive and polite staff. Attention to detail around cleanliness of rooms could have been better. Lots of dust in corners and toilet/bathroom a little lacking in detail. ”
“Usually use Prem Inn but prices are getting ridicules, found Kingfisher Bard, first class, reasonable price and breakfast included not like Prem Inn, £9.50 extra for continental brekkie.
Definitely use again.”
“My room was good value for the area, not luxury but perfectly fine for my stay. Common areas a bit tired but didn't bother me - sooner that than a higher price. Fantastic location, would stay again.”
