I felt immersed in nature immediately upon arrival. The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Thank you to Sonia, the general manager, for always checking in on us, and upgrading our room. Thank you to Renato, at reception, for making sure our breakfast was exactly how we wanted it, especially on early mornings. And a very special thank you to Griselda, our housekeeper, for the laughs, accommodations, and unique and beautiful towel displays. Other pros: jacuzzi outside our room, hammocks all around, saw baby turtles on the shore, and all of the staff is super friendly. There is a cenote across the street where you can swim for free or rent a kayak or paddle board. The Gramercy would definitely benefit from having a pool. We went over to Be Tulum for one day to use their pool because this is off- season and the shore is \*covered\* in seaweed. They would also benefit from a plow truck to pick up some of the seaweed to reduce the smell. Suggestion: take a refillable water bottle/thermos and fill with bottled water from the room; they charge $8 for bottled water at the Agave restaurant on premises. Johnny and Diego were very nice and extremely helpful. The entire staff was always nice and pleasant. Just keep in mind for those that want to be close to all the action, this hotel is basically the last hotel on the strip. Everything is pretty far walking distance. But not a big deal, there’s plenty of taxis. I was planning a surprise birthday trip for my wife, and they helped make sure everything went GREAT! Personal THANK YOU, to Renato, Johnni, Silvio, Diego, and anyone else involved who helped make our trip special. Before arriving Renato really helped to get things squared away for our arrival, and he seemed to genuinely care it went the way I wanted. They helped set up the room with my wife’s favorite cake, balloons, a towel decor cake, champagne, and even a card. They even remembered the lighter for the candles. They communicated all the way up til minutes before our arrival to make sure it was all set up correctly. Renato personally walked us to the Cenote across the street, excitedly showed us a monkey that had come on property, and constantly checked if we needed anything. Johnni helped with the birthday surprise as well, and with anything we needed from Bikes to last minute massage changes while we were there. It’s the small things that make a difference and Gramercy nailed it. Coffee is brought to your room each morning, room service if needed, etc. the property is beautiful and very well maintained. It’s also down near the other high end hotels in Tulum, so you can avoid the clubs and bar noises at night here. We stayed at another “Instagram” hotel in Tulum, and Gramercy beat them in every category. Only negative is no pool for sargassum season.
