Great second story apartment
It’s a great apartment in a great location! Very easy to communicate with host! Parking can be a little tricky finding a spot and the narrow staircase can be a bit challenging while trying to navigate luggage but overall It’s a wonderful place to stay!!

Great location to metro in a charming neighborhood
The location of this property is wonderful. It was 1/2 a block from the metro, which allowed us to take it in to the mall area within maybe 10 to 15 minutes. There was an entire street of restaurants 1 street behind the property and a Trader Joes and CVS all very close. Our favorite quick restaurants nearby was Πzza, and we had a fantastic burger at Eat Brgz. The owner was very thorough with his instructions and made it very easy to check in. He also allowed us to leave our bags in a designated area after check out since our flight didn't leave til later, which was so nice. The unit itself was very clean. We loved the front living area to hang out at night. The only issues we had were with the filtered water on the fridge and the dryer not working properly, but Kirk was aware and planned on fixing those small issues. We absolutely loved the people in Washington DC, and the charm of the neighborhood, and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Great Place
We had a wonderful stay at the Victorian on Capitol Hill. As said in other reviews the location was excellent, close to the Metro and walkable neighborhoods with charming rowhouses. The apartment was very clean, with a comfortable bed and great living and kitchen spaces. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect!
Our visit was perfect! The location was so convenient to the Metro, which allowed us to get anywhere we were headed. To groceries and the market so we could cook when it suited us, and to tasty restaurants when it didn’t! The property itself was clean and well cared for. Comfortable. And had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back!

A Row House Gem!
It was such a pleasure staying in a well-maintained, modern-applianced, classic row house. As we walked in various residential areas of DC we saw houses like ours and felt like we belonged. The property is located in a safe, attractive, residential neighborhood, very walkable to restaurants and transportation, even a small grocery store as well as bars and coffee shops and lively local businesses. We highly recommend the one-dollar-a-ride Circulator bus for getting to other areas of the city, with stops for two different lines a mere block away. The host was very responsive. He did mention that sound carries in these older houses and we could occasionally hear the tenants below and felt that we should be careful about the volume of our voices, not shouting from room to room-- but this is a negligible adjustment to make in a really lovely situation.

Eastern Market suite
Location! Location! Location! Being a block from the Metro station and surrounded by restaurants, shops, and a Trader Joe’s made this stay easy, efficient and comfortable. Communication was smooth and apartment was well appointed and comfortable. Definitely will stay here again.

All we could have hoped for!
This is a beautiful space that is exactly as advertised! We had a wonderful time in DC and this space made it feel like home. Communication from the owner was open, informative and very pleasant. The space is literally half a block from the metro and in a safe location. We were able to park on the street right in front of the building and did not move our car throughout our entire stay. The space was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The washer and dryer were a great bonus amenity. We had a lovely time and really enjoyed staying here. We would definitely recommend the space and host. We hope to be able to return in the future.

Fantastic location
We had a fabulous time in this house - kitchen was updated with all we needed, there was a washer & drier in the unit and the bed was super comfortable. As a plus, the water pressure was amazing and the high ceilings gave a wonderful sense of lightness and space. It was so close to the metro we didn't have to drive anywhere, which was a big plus. Our advance communication with Kirk was so thorough (including a page long email with ideas of where to go in DC) that we didn't need to contact him at all while staying there. We'll definitely book here again for our next trip to DC.

Work or Play this is a great place to stay
With all of the rentals in DC, you never know what you might get, this apartment did not disappoint. I worked on the hill for a week and Eastern Market Suites was a gem. The apt was clean and nicely renovated with high end appliances, but still had the nostalgia of the old brown stone houses. It was a nice 18 minute walk to Hill, great restaurants were close by. Kurt was a fantastic host. The queen bed was comfortable with nice linens. All the little touches made this a five star rental.

Fit Our Needs
The property was exactly as described, and it worked perfectly for the two of us. The check-in process was easy and smooth with detailed info also provided for the apartment itself and in the vicinity. Kirk responded to any questions we had prior to and during our stay, and he was always kind. We liked the very short walks over to 8th Street and Eastern Market area for restaurants. We felt safe throughout our stay, but we would suggest using ride share if needing to go further than the nearby 8th street restaurants after dark. (Perhaps we just saw some people out late on the street at the nearby park that were just “celebrating” over the holiday weekend.) We would stay here again if back in the area.

Lovely, lovely stay
I loved everything about this property. I stayed there for three nights with my two adult children so we could visit monuments, museums, etc. The town house was beautiful and very well maintained. The neighborhood was lovely and quiet. Once we learned how to fully utilize the Metro we were able to explore many areas and landmarks in DC. I did not move my car once I got a parking spot. I had a bit of a difficult time getting one when we arrived on a Friday night and I was afraid to leave in my car and return to not having a parking place. That was fine with me though. I hadn't planned on driving while in DC anyway. I would definitely stay here again. It had a nice home-like quality and we were very comfortable. I could easily fix yummy food we had purchased from the Eastern Market. The market is fantastic. The entire neighborhood is wonderful for just walking and checking out the shops and restaurants. This was the first stop on a two-week road trip so it was also beneficial to have a washer and dryer so we didn't have to pack as many clothes. I also enjoyed the back deck while we had a bit of a downpour one day. I highly recommend this lovely home when visiting DC!

Comfortable apartment in a great location.
This property was convenient to just about everything we wanted to do. It was a block from the metro station so it made getting anywhere very easy. It was comfortable to be there with our two adult children in our down time. Kirk was great and we will stay here again on our next trip to DC.

Capitol Hill gem
This was the perfect place for our Capitol Hill stay. It was a different experience during the pandemic as the City's activities were shut down. Just the same, it is within walking distance to all that Capitol Hill has to offer as well as Eastern Market and the Metro. I loved the fact that it is a quaint traditional home with original floors, but updated with everything we needed. I would happily stay there again.

I canceled this trip 2 weeks in advance due to the Coronavirus Pandemic. I received a full refund from the owner. I have had no response from VRBO. I purchased trip insurance. Not sure why VRBO won't respond. Very happy with the owner! Very unhappy with VRBO!

One to two blocks from Eastern Market and 8th St. restaurant row. Despite its proximity to busy Pennsylvania Ave. the property was quiet and street was peaceful and scenic.

This property is perfect for two people. Comfortable, well-equipped, and perfectly located. Tons of restaurants, half a block from a Metro station, one block from Eastern Market, and an easy walk (a mile or so) to the Capital/National Mall. Kirk was a wonderful host. I think the best part of this property was Kirk. He was very attentive, nice, professional, and communicative. When I came in early, he allowed me to store my luggage in another on site property so I didn’t have to lug it around and could actually enjoy my trip right from the start. He then texted me as soon as my unit was ready and had already moved my luggage for me👍 It was also only 7 blocks walk from the Capitol Building, a half block to the Metro (amazing transportation system), and had several restaurants right around the corner.

A great place in a great location
An extremely nice suite in a great location. The unit has been restored to it past glory using much original wood and adding premium modern conveniences. The location is perfect for visiting the Capital and the National Mall with many fine restaurants just around the block.

We have used VRBO over 50 times and this property was in our top five. Great location near everything: mass transit, grocery stores and restaurants. The unit was clean and well supplied. The kitchen was perfect for making breakfast or lunch before we started our day. The back porch was perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. The owner reached out to us several times to make sure all was good. We will differently return.

Excellent Place To Stay In DC.
The location is great! We drove to the location and parked using the provided permit. Never had to use our car again. Metro is just down the block. Many restaurants, Trader Joe’s, CVS as well. The unit is clean, comfortable and while renovated, still has a lot of original charm. The owner is easy to contact, very responsive and made sure we had what we neede for a great stay. Highly recommend. Will stay here again when next visiting DC.

Everything you want in DC!
This place was the perfect DC vacation destination. It was spacious and had a great place to rest and watch tv or listen to music. The best part for us was the location. One could probably throw a baseball and hit the Metro station. It really is that close. If you’re not used to riding trains, watch a Youtube video the Metro and don’t let it scare you. Couple bucks will get you close to all the tourist spots on and around the National Mall. The Capitol is even the first stop. Don’t spend all your time at the Mall though! The neighborhood around this property was a lot of fun. The Eastern Market couldn’t have been a 10 minute walk. In addition to variety of groceries, they had an awesome place for lunch (Market Lunch - cash only - fresh seafood and hand cut fries). They have an outdoor market sometimes too. There are a variety of restaurants within a few block walk. There’s an organic market a block away (picked up great coffee there) and a Trader Joes is a couple blocks away. Last but not least, a local recommended Beuchert's Saloon which is a couple blocks away. The bartender was great – very friendly, informative, and made up some great drinks. It was so good we stayed for dinner, which impressed as well. Good thing I don’t always live that close to it! The owner was available and very accommodating. Our flight times were crazy, but he made sure everything was ready to go for us and we had no problem at all with a (very) late arrival and early departure. Thanks for an awesome trip!

Perfect DC location!
We recently stayed in this property, and loved it. We had everything we needed in the kitchen, a back porch deck, and in a quiet neighborhood. Grocery stores, CVS, liquor stores and a multitude of restaurants were within 5 minute walking. The best part, the subway is literally a 2 minute walk to travel all over the DC area, with Capitol Hill one stop away. We will be back!

The best of the best!
There was nothing not to like about this accommodation. The location was ideal for us and the apartment itself had lots of natural light, was beautifully appointed, and had a well-furnished kitchen with high end appliances. Best of all, however, was the owner, Kirk. We had a medical emergency that caused us to arrive a day later than expected, and Kirk went out of his way to accommodate us in every way, during our entire stay. Without our even requesting it, Kirk arranged a refund for our missed night, which we appreciated, but never expected. We have stayed in a variety of hotels and rentals over the years, but Eastern Market Suites is the one we will choose to return to. Thanks again, Kirk. Your client satisfaction clearly means a lot to you!
