Just 1/2 mile from town center, Herb Cottage is nestled at the gateway to Woodstock’s legendary Overlook Mountain. If you’re searching for a mystical hideaway in which to relax, restore your energies, and recapture your creative self, this is the place for you!

Completely renovated, Herb Cottage offers a delightful mix of luxurious appointments and bluestone charm, including:
• Comfortable living room with woodstove, bluestone hearth, 37" cable HDTV, Blu-Ray player, and an extensive library of books, games and DVDs.
• Fully-equipped country kitchen with a bluestone countertop, herb tiles from Mexico, and a sunny dining nook.
• Second floor loft bedroom with a king-size bed featuring a luxurious memory foam mattress topper and 100% cotton linens.
• First floor bathroom with an antique claw foot tub converted into a rain shower.
• Additional amenities include spa robes, WIFI, and a secluded bluestone terrace with bluestone table and gas grill.
• Optional: Reiki treatments and access to other holistic practitioners.

PETS
Well-behaved and crate-trained dogs are considered ~ please ask. Please note that dogs must be crated when left alone in the cottage, and leashed when outdoors. A $100/week pet fee per dog applies.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellations that are made more than sixty days prior to the arrival date will receive a full refund. Cancellations that are made between thirty and sixty days in advance of the arrival date will receive a 50% refund. Cancellations that are made less than 30 days prior to check-in forfeit the full payment. Early departure does not warrant any refund of rent. Refunds will not be given due to weather or road conditions.

Wonderful, Relaxing Getaway
This is a lovely cottage that's perfectly situated between the town of Woodstock and the Overlook Mountain trail. Wonderful ambiance, great mattress, generously-appointed kitchen. Only caveat is that the ceilings are quite low in some spots — especially the kitchen entrance and the upstairs loft-style bedroom. Bumped my head a few times when I forgot to duck!

Beautiful Cottage
The herb cottage was amazing. Has everything you need and is just around the corner from downtown Woodstock. We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and were really pleased with the quiet and quaint environment the cottage offered. Would recommend for those looking for a peaceful relaxing stay. (also the wood stove is great)

My husband and I really enjoyed using Herb Cottage as a base to explore the Catskills and Hudson Valley areas. The place was as described and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We really enjoyed the wood burning stove in the evenings.

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend at this cozy cottage situated within a 5-minute drive of Woodstock’s great shops and restaurants and equally close to Woodstock’s great hiking trails. After long days of walking and hiking we enjoyed relaxing on the chaises in the backyard, and in the evenings the expansive DVD collection was a treat!

You'll be so glad...
...that you came to stay at Herb Cottage. Not an exaggeration to say that it's a magical place. Set in a gorgeous, quiet, woodland neighborhood that is a quick walk from the lively Woodstock downtown, it's perfect for a solo retreat or a couple's get-away (which was our situation). It has everything you need for a restorative, comforting stay and feels like an actual home, not a rental unit. Powerful woodstove warmed up our mornings. Big comfortable bed in the loft. Wonderful collection of books tucked in everywhere as well as a huge array of throw-back BluRay video disks for the TV. Loved everything about it. Wish we could have stayed for a week!

The Joy of Herb Cottage.
My beloved and I just spent 4 unforgettable and wonderful days at Herb Cottage! We would have happily stayed for weeks. Judy's place is a peaceful haven and is a true gem. Very cosy, comfortable and heartwarming. Her assistant Chelsea went above and beyond to make sure every aspect of our stay went well. It was all brilliantly organized and free of any stress or concerns. We are deeply grateful for such a joyful experience.

Lovely historic and charming cottage.
The property was very pretty and full of character. We were warm with the stove and heating and found the chairs and sofa extremely comfortable. It was within easy walking distance from the town. We were very happy with our choice and it was a perfect break from the stresses of New York!

Great Stay at The Herb Cottage
It was truly a pleasure to stay not only in a cute and quaint cottage but at a part of Woodstock history. Check in was a breeze and the place was stocked with everything we needed for a comfortable week long stay. During the day we hiked, explored Woodstock and other nearby towns and ate at many of the great restaurants. At night it was sitting in front of the fire watching a movie, playing games or reading a book all supplied by the proprietors. On warmer nights the outdoor chairs were a comfortable spot to look at the amazing sky and listen to the nearby stream. An added bonus was the lilacs were in bloom. (my favorite) We highly recommend staying at this cottage and exploring Woodstock and all that the Catskills have to offer!

Cozy cottage getaway
The cottage has a wonderful history and the owners have stocked it with a library of books about Woodstock as well as all kinds of other books. The kitchen is small but stocked with nice plates and cookware so it’s fun to cook here, we made lots of good dinners when we weren’t going out. The owners have great taste and generously provide the cottage with a million different touches that make it special to be there. Wonderful time to be in beautiful Woodstock. Nothing but thank you to our hosts.

We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage this fall. It's a little secluded, but still close to everything in the downtown. It looks just as cute in person as in the photos. Most of all we loved being able to hang out by the woodstove as we got a true upstate NY November with 20 degree temps :)

We had a wonderful time at Herb Cottage. It was everything we'd hoped it would be. Quaint and cozy and full of sunshine. Loved cooking in the kitchen and eating in sunlit breakfast nook. Wonderful selection of books, games, and DVD's . Especially loved the book `Woodstock, History and Hearsay`because it is about the cottage and the family that loves it. Appreciated that we could recycle and compost. The woodstove is awesome! Hated to leave and can't wait to come back Thanks again for a wonderful stay. Hope to be back soon

Cozy Cottage
We loved our stay! The cottage is very cozy and we especially loved the fireplace! We stayed just for a weekend of hiking and enjoying town. The cottage is walking distance to town (10-15min). Being a bit of a neat freak, I appreciated the cleanliness and order of the place (the DvD collection is organized by alphabet- that just gives me joy 😂). We also appreciated the history of the place! The Upstairs VHS collection & player brought back nostalgic thoughts! So fun! The only downside are the low ceilings/doorways, especially when going up the stairs, so be careful when going up the stairs so you don’t bump your head. But hey, there’s nothing that can be done about that and it’s part of the old cottage charm! 🤷🏼‍♀️ We’ll be back for sure!

We came to Herb Cottage for 2 nights, needing to to revive & exhale & it was just what we both needed...... So charmingly appointed that you feel transported back to a time when the cottage was actually a thriving Herb Shop. Lovely location walking distance to the quaint town of Woodstock. Great communication with the caretakers of the property made for a seamless visit.....only wished we’d stayed longer! This home is like a HUG! Loved it!

Charming centrally located gem!
A charming and unique cottage with lots of local history and nice outdoor area. it's a brief drive or a walk to Woodstock town from here. Cozy and comfortable downstairs with plenty of books and DVDs to keep you happy on a rainy or snowy day. Warning to tall people: the upstairs sleeping area is deeply dormered and you need to be a bit acrobatic to get into bed but the bed is comfy once in it!
