Great little getaway
Everything we needed. This place exceeded our expectations. We rent alot, rarely use hotels, I cant say enough about how sweet this little cabin is. Nice size everything, once you open the door you feel at home. Got to meet Greg, real nice guy. We will definitely rent this Gem again. Clean, organized and cozy.

Great little house!
A perfect cozy little cabin with all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. Kitchen is well equipped, the fireplace keeps things nice and warm and the beds are comfortable. Only concern was that the neighborhood is a bit rustic, but not a real worry - there's a nice beach a short walk away.

Our plans changed and We asked to modify the reservation as we would only need to stay 1 night. Owner said yes no issues, but then told VRBO he changed his mind after not responding for 12 hours to any calls or messages from me. We have the texts to prove this. Property is in the middle of abandoned/boarded up houses and vehicle junkyards. Not in a safe or welcoming area. Would not recommend. We never went in to the property. Ended up staying elsewhere as we did not feel safe after we drove to the property.

Cabin is great. Very clean. Kitchen is nice. Bedrooms are comfortable. Place is dog friendly with a "fenced" back yard but i would not put my dog back there. Yard in general could use some TLC. Neighborhood isnt well kept, although it is a short walk to the beach. Owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Peaceful Getaway
We chose to stay here as part of a bigger trip for our son's college visitations. This cabin is about 25 minutes outside of Bellingham. For us, it created a perfect combination of a city experience in Bellingham and a quiet getaway for mornings and evenings. My husband and I sat on the deck with our coffee each morning and enjoyed all of the bird life that surrounded us...eagles, herons, swallows and gulls. It was really beautiful, and since the cabin is situated within Lummi Nation, I appreciated seeing firsthand how members are supporting each other and the casino seems to be generating wealth for the tribe.

I’d rent it again
The property itself is solid, clean & very comfortable. The kitchen has full sets of pots & pans, dishes & silverware. The rooms have nice pillows & beds, there were plenty of towels also. The fireplace took the morning chill off perfectly. My young grandchildren and i had a great time at a nearby beach, throwing rocks and looking for shells & agates. When we were at home, it was quiet and very relaxing. A nearby property sports a heck of a junkyard with tons of cars and isn’t pleasant to pass by, but other than that, zero complaints. I’d rent it again!

A cozy cabin near the beach
The cabin worked really well for my wife and 17 month old daughter when we were having work done on our house. My wife said they enjoyed walking the beach and visiting nearby parks in Ferndale. This cabin was just what we needed, thank you!

NOTHING LIKE ADVERTISED
First of all, the pictures were not accurate. The house was worn down, the deck was dilapidated and dangerous. No chairs for sitting on the deck. REALLY BAD AREA! Looked like the "hood". Abandoned cars everywhere. Scary, actually. I recommend staying at the Silver Reef Hotel if you want to stay in that area. I am really disappointed with the homes condition and the area as well. I will never use VRBO again. You never know what you are going to get and the owners of these properties don't appear to be honest. Waste of money, honestly.

I'm lost for words. After nothing but 4 and mostly 5 star reviews, we occasionally get a negative review from a not so happy camper. Unfortunately, they have their right to run down a place and lie about things. While the cabin was not built yesterday, it is still well kept, the deck is not new but maintained with no rot or dangerous areas. There are 4 camping chairs in the closet (mentioned in the booklet for renters upon arrival). It is a very safe, quite place and this owner is very honest. Please disregard this dishonest review.

It is a really nice cabin, a great kitchen, nice living room, washing machine and dryer...very helpful, two bedrooms and the bathroom. Not much for grocery shopping, so come prepared.

Lovely cabin near the Lummi Island Ferry. You cant see the water from the cabin but it is a very short walk to the beach. The cabin is homey, well mantained, and very relaxing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I saw a previous review that complained about the neighbors, but we had zero problems. Very quite.

While there could be a guard rail on the steps to haul our old bones up. The building itself was beautiful. Furnishings and beds were beyond comfortable. I would be tempted to buy it if it was for sale. Wish we could see the water from the cabin. But it was close by. Weather was great friends were great And we had a really good time @

Wonderful weekend
Very nice well equipped cabin. We had a wonderful relaxing quiet weekend. For dog lovers, Little Squalicum is a must see! Miles of graveled walks, paths through the woods, large grassy field and a rocky beach. Our pups were in heaven!

Beach Escape
We enjoyed our city getaway to beach time. The cabin was clean, cozy with a well stocked kitchen.We enjoyed our time walking on the beach, and hanging out. Portage Island (know the tides), picking up fresh fish from Barlean's, and a trip to Lummi Island were nice ways to explore the area. The island is very quiet right now which fit us nicely; we were prepared for shoulder season travel with snacks and lunch in tow. Look forward to coming again!

Great stay - lovely homey cabin
This cabin exceeded our expectations. We needed to vacate our home for remodeling for a few days and this was a nice choice. Close to Bellingham and close to the water. The cabin has all the luxuries of home and has recently been remodeled. All the amenities needed were there and we could tell a lot of thought went into prepping the cabin. Our dog, who is 13 and blind, managed just fine, there is a nice yard around the cabin. The propane heater made the cabin and all rooms just the right temp. We highly recommend this place.

Greg and Heidi make everything simple for their guests. Easy check in, clear communication, they have a lovely kitchen stocked with cookware so you can make a trip to the store and prepare your meals there without a hitch! Beds were comfy with plenty of warm blankets. The fireplace is so lovely to look at, and it keeps the cabin so warm! Our dog Dozer was comfortable as well. Many nice features, but security risks are higher than advertized
The first 2 days were fine. The cottage is nicely equipped with kitchen tools and appliances, and basic supplies like spices, flour, sweeteners, sauces, etc. The beds were comfortable for us and there's enough space to be comfortable. Everything that we used worked as it should. It's a short walk to a pebbly beach strewn with logs and a sidewalk next to the road that runs around the bay, which is nice for walking and seeing totems of the Lummi institutions. The not so good parts are that it's in a neighborhood of tidy homes and mini junk yards, and the heat for the whole place comes from a gas fireplace in the far corner of the living room (except 1 bedroom has its own heat). The terrible part for us was that there are sometimes desperate people in the neighborhood, and one or more of them broke into the house while we were away by throwing a rock through a bedroom window. They stole a backpack and laptop with irreplaceable things in them as well as half of our Christmas gifts. The owner told us that it had never been burglarized . . . while people were staying there. We feel that this is dishonest. If there are known security risks, there should be protection available; an immovable safe, motion activated exterior security lights and surveillance cameras, security grates on the windows, and/or others. At the very least, there should be a prominant warning to take all valuables when away, and to leave lights on. So we can't recommend this "Secret passage to the San Juan Islands. Very quiet spot on a short, rural road." until security is improved.

The first thing I need to comment on is the gas stove in the far side of the living room. The living room, kitchen and bathroom are a total of 460 square feet and with the two bedrooms 720 square feet. The gas fireplace is rated for 1500 square feet. I have been renting the cabin since 2014 and have never had a complaint about it not heating the whole house. The break in was very unfortunate, but is the first time in 7 years of renting that it was vandalized while renters were there. I'm not sure why they think I'm dishonest and why I need to warn them or anyone else about taking their valuables with them. And lastly, there are motion sensor lights and security cameras (normally in the cabin which I remove when renters are there).

Enjoyable cozy cabin
We were lucky to find this cozy and pet friendly cabin last minute for the holiday weekend. The propane fireplace and the kitchen were clutch during the snowstorm! The kitchen had a lot of essentials you don’t know if you’ll find in a rental. We took the short walk to the beach a few times with the dogs and ran into two friendly neighbors on the way and all kinds of birds at the beach. The owner was quick to respond and helpful throughout. Honestly the cabin was cuter than I anticipated even with the pictures. We also appreciated the small fenced back yard for playing with the dogs in the snow!

The Beach House with a frog guarding its entrance is a charming place. Very clean and comfortable, well equiped with super quality appliances and a grill on the deck. During our stay, abundant blackberries were a delicious bonus. A few minute walk lead to the beach where we walked our dog. At low tide, a walk was extended to Portage island, an uninhabited island and part of the Lummi reservation. The views towards Lummi island and snow-covered Baker Mountain were splendid. Convenient to Bellingham and surrounding attractions.

Very Nice Vacation Rental, Well Equipped
It was a pleasure staying at this property. It is extremely well equipped; I love to cook and bbq, and this unit is one of the best equipped units we have ever stayed at. The unit is extremely comfortable and private. It is also nice to sit on the expansive deck and enjoy a cup of tea/coffee, glass of wine and/or a meal; or just sit with your thoughts. The unit has plenty of closet and storage space. The owner of this unit is extremely helpful, responsive and communicative. The check-in and check-out procedure was quick and efficient. One thing I would mention is that when we stayed here, there was no view of the water or ferry dock, as indicated in slide 4 of 18. The trees and brush have grown and now impede the view of the water. However, even without the view, it was great sitting out on the huge deck.

Rustic cedar cabin nicely remodeled with modern appliances. Well stocked. Peakable water view. Ocean is within walking distance. Quick stop type of store nearby with gas and a deli but no alcohol. Somewhat remote.. Recommend getting groceries in Bellingham or Burlington. Nice little place tucked inside Lummi Indian reservation. Very quiet. Gorgeous biking or walking around bay.

Had a wonderful stay for 2 nights. The cabin is very clean and everything you could possibly need is there. The location is nice, quite close to the water but you do have to walk down the street to get to the water but it's still very convenient. There is a house on either side even though the picture makes it look very secluded but once your inside it feels like your secluded and can smell the ocean through your windows. Both bedrooms had ceiling fans which I love, there is a window AC unit which kept it cool just in the afternoon as it gets hot in there and the jetted tub is so nice! The owner was instantly responsive about any question or concern I had. I recommend highly.

Cabin was nice and relaxing to stay in. It was stocked with plenty of amenities! Also had AC which was a must in summer. Has a BBQ that we used constantly for cooking up seafood from Barlean’s seafood. If you like seafood you HAVE to go! Easy close walk to the beach and hours can pass by easily there. Lummi island hiking and exploring was great. Overall very relaxing chill place to stay for two hardworking parents, an energetic 6yr old, and our dog. -I appreciate that there’s not a weight limit on the dog size. Our pup is a trim 140 and some places won’t take her because of her size, even though she’s well behaved. Thank you for that Greg!
