The house is in the perfect location to walk around downtown! Such a cute vibe and such friendly staff who are ready to recommend restaurants and hikes!

Liz and Stephan were wonderful hosts!! I had to travel to Charlevoix for my mothers funeral... Liz and Stephan made me feel comfortable and welcome during a difficult time. The bathroom plumbing (sink has liw pressure, toilet runs, showerhas an "aggressive " leak...) needs some attention. But overall i would absolutely recommend the Charlevoix House! Clean, safe, comfortable and very reasonably priced!!

We stayed there Friday and Saturday night. Great experience. Very quaint bed and breakfast. The inn keepers were Stefan (sorry if wrong spelling) at night and Liz in the morning. Both were very helpful and friendly. Liz made a good breakfast. Right downtown Charlevoix easy to walk along the waterfront, shops, and restaurants. We will be staying there when we visit family.

Bed and breakfast that needs some upgrading
We noted the property is currently up for sale when we arrived. The suite room we stayed in was somewhat barren for a bed and breakfast and the room had a window air conitioner in place in October that was letting in a lot of cold air. They did provide us with a space heater. The breakfast buffet, which was tasty, was laid out on the dining table where we were eating. There was only seating for 6 yet the occupants of the house were at least double that. The properties location was very good, with a short walk to town.

Fall Getaway
It was nice, and clean. It did not feel very homey, like some B&Bs. Breakfast was also different… mostly store bought food and self-serve. Internet was good. TV was terrible… could not even get a free local news station. Had to log in my own Amazon Prime account. No 24/7 coffee (unless you raided the kitchen and made your own), no special treats like a cookie at check-in. For the price, I was disappointed, and would not recommend to those who typically savor a B&B experience.

Disappointing for a B and B.
Disappointed! No one greeted us and found the evening staff in a room playing video games. TV wireless connection went out several times during the evening. Need to connect it directly via wire Internet. Wireless connection was difficult to connect on our computers. Only one electrical outlet with six plugs (one with an extension cord for the far side of the bed). Heard the traffic outside throughout the night. Floors squeezed when walked on. The bottom outside of the shower looked dirty and rusty. Breakfast was good but no one served and had to locate all by ourselves. No handicap access. All stairs to get into the house and to the bedrooms.

Lovely and unique home with very nice staff night and day. Breakfast was a bit hard to figure out as it was self-serve in various areas. But it was good and plentiful. Our room was in the third floor with very steep steps. Loved the room and appreciated the help getting our luggage up there. We definitely recommend this place.

We had a three day stay for a family event. It was conveniently located and walking distance to the main drag. Innkeeper Liz and breakfast offering was excellent. Fresh coffee and REAL food. The room was clean and very tidy. Bathroom also clean and functional but patched and fixtures unstable. New mattress needed for sofa bed in the suite. Some repairs underway but the place needs some renovations for the asked price. If you are looking for clean and convenient with no frills, it is a good place. Pricey though for after Labor Day and before the colors. Your call.

Very friendly and accessible staff. Room was comfortable despite creeky floors but it's an old house so to be expected. Great location. Breakfast was quite good.

I’ve been coming up to Charlevoix for over 20 years and have stayed with friends or at crappy hotels. The Charlevoix House kept popping up as I was looking to book some travel this summer. How have I need this place since they’ve opened (or re-opened)? The location is perfect. Literally a two minute walk to downtown. The house is super cute and clean and prices are very reasonable. This place is way better than most of the hotels in this area. It is also way better in person! Staff was super friendly and helpful. Check-in and check-out was easy. The Charlevoix House has now become my new summer go-to. Only downsides: Wi-Fi is awful. The TV would barely stay on and was spotty the entire stay. They often don’t lock the front door at night (which is not safe), and the traffic can be a bit much as you are right in the main street.

At least it has a good location.
Good location. We had the 20’s room but privacy was an issue, no blinds at the windows ground floor next to parking so had to keep curtains closed all the time. No staff, no info on breakfast, where, times, we even just dumped the key when we left. Breakfast was terrible. Paper plates, some plastic, poor quality breads just in the middle of the table with some spreads, an old temperamental 2 slice toaster , I could go on… Sunday, same but no hot, added sugary donuts in a box. Shower was powerful and plenty hot water and the room was clean. The old bathroom basin was well, old and in need of refurbishment.

Reasonably priced, nice location/ only a short walk to restaurants and shops. Tim did a great job having breakfast ready each morning especially Sunday morning. And he was quick to meet request for ac in or room. I would stay there again.

I paid over $300 a day and had to park a block away on a public street because there are only 4 parking spaces 5 rented rooms. It is a very old house that has been converted into a B&B. The stairs are very steep and the stairway is longer than in a modern home. Seniors should limit their trips up and down those stairs. I was not impressed with type of coffee that was served for breakfast. (It was way too strong for my taste). Breakfast selections were limited. I would have liked to see some kind of danish or doughnuts. The bathroom was very small and so was the shower. While a drawbridge may be considered to be quaint, in reality it caused a traffic jam every half hour right outside our room. If I could find another place to stay I would have.

Where do I start? The reviews said that the location was "family friendly." Well what it didn't say was that does not include children with disabilities. While showing us the 2 rooms that we had booked the innkeeper was standing in the doorway while we were in the room, my ASD 7 year old walked past him to look into an open doored room. Immediately I went after my son to try to explain that just because the door was open we couldnt go in it. The innkeeper told us that if my mom wanted to walk around and let him explore she could. We had just drove more than 4 hours to get there and he was excited. At no time was my son a nusiance/ in danger of messing something up. Honestly if a room isnt able to be entered the door should be closed. Fast forward 5 min, we are walking out to go to dinner he pulled me aside from the group to tell me that my child needs to know that he can not run around the house, and how we need to respect the other guests. We were the very first 2 rooms to check in, what guests? He took advantage of pulling a woman away from her support and made it sound like my disabled child could not even make a noise because he lives in the basement & can hear up to the 3rd floor. We didnt come back until bed time. This morning my son and i walked down to where people were in the dining room and the innkeeper told us that my son needs to not disturb the people in the room. He didnt say that to anyone in the dining room. Discrimination, sickening, don't recommend.
