Elizabeth and her husband have created an idyllic home-away-from home in the heart of Dover-Foxcroft. Their attention to detail is impeccable, from the well-written area guide to the bedside fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. They are the consummate hosts and I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to stay there.

Freedom House offers very modern, updated and comfortable rooms in a historic building within a really cute town. The bed was one of the most comfortable, ever, and make sure you opt for the breakfast, delicious and filling.

Thank you for your phone call earlier today. We hope you had a nice visit with your family while in the area:) We would encourage you going forward, no matter where you are staying, to voice whatever issue you experience right away so that actions can be taken to remedy the situation then and there. It is always discouraging to hear of something days after a visit that could have been addressed immediately to make your stay more comfortable.

Very nice B & B. Located right downtown so easy to walk anywhere. Immaculately clean. Super comfortable bed with home-made chocolate chip cookies on my pillow. Friendly host. Wish I hadn't had to leave before breakfast.

Great hosts, nice cozy room Facilities ok, overall very satisfied I did not enjoy the ultrasoft mattress, i felt like drownong in it :) but thats my personal preference

We really appreciate the thoughtful details the owners put into making our stay a special one. We had stayed at a 4* hotel the previous night but we thought this this place was even better. We had such a restful night that we felt like we were sleeping on clouds. If we ever come back to this area, this is where we will stay at for sure.

Perfect for a stop-over!
We absolutely loved our stop-over night with such amazing hosts, who provided an excellent breakfast to send us on our way and a huge bonus for the gorgeous, larger than average, fluffy towels!

I stayed in the 1bedroom apartment. The apartment was spacious and had everything one would need. It was colorfully decorated. It had wifi and cable tv. I will definitely stay at the Freedom House again.

The location was perfect for walking to dinner, and just quiet enough on a side street for tranquility at night. We loved everything about this place! The hosts are very friendly and accommodating, the room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and the attention to detail was much appreciated. Breakfast was delish and very filling. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Dover-Foxcroft!

Perfect Stopover
Very wonderful family-oriented stay with home cooked breakfast if desired (including pancakes with real maple syrup). Regarded and welcomed almost more as a family member than a guest, with companionable hosts offering all the amenities. Couldn't have asked for a more inviting stay and mattress, almost like marshmallow - a rest beaten only by the scrambled eggs and fresh fruit for breakfast.

I came early but was greeted and checked in anyway. A clean and comfortable room awaited. Smallish and trying to fit everything in left not enough room for the shelf opposite the toilet. I did hit my head on it in the dark as a learning experience. Nice and hope to be back.

I loved the areas outside.They had a couple of different areas with rocking chairs and regular chairs. And a small fire pit with everything you need to start the fire. Very relaxing atmosphere. We didn’t have breakfast, so I’m not sure how that was. Room was clean. My husband did complain about the noise of the refrigerator in the room.

The host was very nice. The room/bed was ok. The bathroom was ok. It was quiet enough. We were surprised that there was NO mention or breakfast at the bed and breakfast and no one available in the morning to ask about the breakfast.

No mention of breakfast was made because when you made your reservation with Expedia you chose the no breakfast option. We are sorry you were disappointed with your choice and sad that it seems to have negatively impacted the rest of your experience. We are always around in the morning to assist guests and promptly answer any calls so our availability should not have been an issue (?)

Nice get away
The owners were very friendly. The food was FABULOUS! They had this really awesome baked apple and stuffed french toast with homemade maple syrup that was scrumptious. The only draw backs were the uncomfortable mattress and very small shower. There was a light blinking on and off outside the window (which is a city issue, not their issue) that would be nice to be corrected. The little town was cute and had several restaurants within walking distance.
