“Need a path to get in from drive way to house the flood lights didn’t stay on long enough when we went to car and was extremely dark.overall I liked staying here”

“What a peaceful place to visit. Wonderful views of the river, which was mere steps from the house. Had everything we needed for a quiet getaway Thanksgiving. My husband, son and dog enjoyed exploring the river and nearby train tracks. An afternoon at VT was a short drive away. Will be back with our kayaks for warm summer fun. Thanks Frank!”

“Cottage very clean and comfortable! Great location with views of mountains and close proximity to site seeing of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Appalachia Trail. Very nice state park at Smith Lake and would recommend to see. Host would respond quickly to any questions we had while at cottage and made our stay very enjoyable. Will definitely book cottage again to our next trip back to the area!!”

“We chose this area for how close it was to Hanging Rock. However, it rained very hard almost the whole time we were there. But the house was so comfortable that we really enjoyed just hanging out there. Very clean, with a lot of thoughtful details (spices, teas, coffee) and the sheets on the bed were so soft and amazing! The hosts were very easy to message and we always got a quick response. Would definitely go back!”

“After visiting Cozy Doe last year, we knew we would return. We love how comfortable and peaceful it is there. This time we were able to enjoy the screened in porch - a great place to relax and while away an afternoon reading. The bed is amazingly comfortable and I even slept in…something I rarely do! The kitchen is well stocked and I enjoy having a coffee bar. I am already looking forward to our next stay!”

“The home is on a finger of Claytor Lake, which was quiet and out of the wind. It is eclectic with kitchen on bottom level and living room area on the second level. You can access both levels independently from the driveway. Overall, comfortable for our needs given the weather wasn't great but we were in town for graduation.”

“Serenity House worked well for our family during VT's spring 2024 graduation. The property is located on a quiet, no wake zone, knob of Claytor Lake. It was the perfect place for fishing and swimming. The home was appropriately advertised. Both the home and decking are older but clean and tidy. The directions were a bit misleading, Waze actually got us there easily. There should be more description of the very small road leading in, the steepness of the driveway and tiny turnaround areas. “We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our daughter's graduation from VCOM. We rented both Claytor Escape and Green Cape Cottage. We enjoyed the kayak, paddle boards and swimming off the dock. The house was clean and well-stocked. Check in was easy and the host was very responsive. And - the front porch of Claytor Escape is wonderful!”

“Very nicely renovated single wide trailer. No detail was overlooked in the renovation and decorating. High end cabinets, flooring, great lighting, and even an iPhone charger was appreciated. For the area, it’s a little expensive compared to other rentals in MOD. Private setting, although there was some traffic coming through the shared driveway. It was very clean but I did find a few false eyelashes throughout the home and the fridge didn’t look like it had been wiped out. I would visit more...
