Wonderful jungle location on road to Hana
Nice small bungalow with everything you need for your stay. Coffee, spices, bottle of wine and kits of little extras. Had a small barbecue, just need to bring your own briquettes. Property managers were super responsive and provided everything needed. Including chairs and boogie boards for the beach. Audio on the road to Hana. Works stay here again

Mahalo to the hosts! We had a great time at the Haleakala Cottage. House was decorated with fresh local fruit and flowers when we arrived. Hosts personally helped out with Wifi troubles within minutes of notification. Outdoor shower and hot tub were very relaxing! Location is a bit out of the way and off-road, so we recommend getting a Jeep if you're renting a car. 10/10 would stay again!

We loved staying here. The owners are so friendly and helpful. No issues with anything. The bed was comfy. The property is so cool with all the greenery and flowers. Very close to small grocery stores and restaurants.

40th wedding anniversary trip
We stayed at Haleakala Cottage on the second portion of our 10 day trip to Maui. We wanted to be close to road to Hana and it was that and more. Such a peaceful place with wonderful comfort touches, from the bed, extra pillows, towel warmer, private hot tub and garden, fresh flowers through cottage and treats waiting for us in refrigerator. The host was amazing with a special medical request I had and we loved the short walk to the coast to watch the sunrise. Highly recommend!

Magical stay under the stars
The Haleakala cottage was absolutely magical and everything we wanted for our romantic anniversary getaway. Off the beaten path and surrounded by lush foliage, this was just what we were looking for. The bed was comfortable, the outdoor shower enchanting and the hot tub was perfect for star gazing. Close to both Paia and Makawao the location was ideal for shopping and dining just a short drive away. We loved being away from the crowds and tourism. The cottage felt like our own private paradise. There is a short and beautiful cliff walk to an ocean view surrounded by cows and lush greenery. The hosts were very responsive and communicated well. We met the manager, Kai, and he was very kind and helpful. We only saw 3 other people on the property during our entire stay. Very private and secluded! The cottage was sparkling clean and well equipped. We will definitely be coming back to this enchanting slice of paradise.

Paradise for Two
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. We were on our delayed honeymoon (2020 wedding). The stars were like nothing we had seen before and the tranquility was just what we were looking for! We know there were other guests, but we felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. We can’t wait to recommend to a friend.

Absolutely perfect retreat! Away from everything in this exquisitely landscaped property, like staying in a botanical garden. The hot tub surrounded by lush greenery! The walkways, viewpoint and coast access!! I never knew I needed an indoor/outdoor bathroom with garden, so open and lovely, hard to explain but oddly freeing! Arrived to a beautifully appointed cottage with fresh eggs from chickens on property, fruit and other great, local essentials, place settings arranged, flowers everywhere! Loved feeding the chickens and the stroll to the coast walk, such beauty and thorough care taken by owners and team. You can tell they truly care about this place and their guests. Best for those wanting quiet, remote retreat as it is tucked away on the Hana highway and therefore not the most convenient if beach or busy agenda planned (but not impossible as we went everywhere!). I felt very serene there, awed by the surrounding beauty. Looking forward to returning someday, mahalo!

Silence is golden!!!
Loved our very peaceful stay in the rain forest! The cottage is adorable with everything you may need to enjoy making meals and enjoying time on the property and the hot tub! We loved the outdoor shower…what’s freeing experience…my husband took lots of showers!! :) what a wonderful host and so helpful leaving lovely fruit and bread!! Thank you for a great stay and loved being so close to the Road to Hana…we beat all of the tourists on the drive!!

fabulous hidden and secluded property cliff side where a short walk takes you to view the ocean. Be prepared to drive 25 minutes from Pa’ia but if you want jungle sounds, swaying palms and complete privacy…this is your place.

Hidden paradise
This property was a literal slice of heaven. We spent a good chunk of our trip doing the Road to Hana, so this location was PERFECT! Imagine sleeping with doors and windows open - waking up to the ocean sounds, a few roosters crowing, and maybe a kitty wondering the lusciously tropical grounds with smells of blooming flowers. Perfection! Amenities were above and beyond. Hospitality was above and beyond. Experience was above and beyond. I’m so glad we stayed here instead of a hotel! Pros: away from tourist traps - felt like a local, outdoor shower set up (so cool!), thoughtful amenities of bread/eggs/fresh flowers, hot tub - especially at night under the stars with the waves crashing in the background Cons: bumpy road, distance from popular attractions (other than Road to Hana) Highly recommend this for ANYONE - couples, friends, families, single adventurers. Staying at this property literally *made* our trip to Maui memorable and full of wonderful memories!

Tropical Paradise
I cannot say enough great things about this property. Sharon and Jeff were amazing hosts. They provided some very nice gifts including some delicious fruit from the property. The house is on the road to Hana so it is very easy to explore that area of the island which is our favorite. When your return from your adventure you will be treated to an outdoor shower, hot tub and an amazing view of the stars on clear nights. We were there on nights with no moon which was ideal for star gazing. This property exceeded our expectations and I can't recommend it more highly!

What an amazing place!
We had the best time here! What a beautiful place and amazing property! The hosts were fantastic! Upon arrival we were gifted with lots of delicious goodies and we enjoyed them all. We loved the hot tub at night, relaxing and watching the stars. We also saw some whales from the look out point! I can’t say enough about how amazing our stay was. A Dream in the Jungle
I cannot say enough good things about our experience at this rental. The location feels very tucked away, but it's close to both Haiku town and Paia. It's also on the road to Hana, so some of the amazing things to explore are right around the corner. Close to the unit you can hike, get to Twin Falls, and see amazing views! We loved going to the lookout to see the ocean and the cliffs. The rental has everything you need and more. Sharyn is an incredible host. She provides some local treats and very special gifts that make you feel at home when you arrive. We love love loved the outdoor shower and hot tub, especially at night when you can see the stars. This was the kind of place you both want to come back to and want to recommend to all of your friends and family. 11/10!

The property is very well maintained and has amazing views of the ocean. Though there are 4 condos, each condo is completely private. Loved the early morning visits by friendly chicken.

Quiet peaceful jungle stay
Over the top experience! It is so peaceful and beautiful. The room was filled with flowers and Sharyn left us tropical fruit and wine! It is a fully equipped kitchen. The bed is comfy. We didn't use the hot tub but it is very private. I love the outdoor shower! We will be back!

A true Aloha experience!
This is an amazing property off the Road to Hana that is owned by a lovely family. I was welcomed with wonderful food and fresh flowers. They allowed me to stay a few extra hours and were absolutely delightful throughout my stay. The cottage is darling and comfortable with an outdoor shower and everything one needs for an authentic Hawaiian experience. I will be back!

A Slice of Heaven on the Road to Hana
I stayed at the Haleakala Cottage with my husband and our 11-month-old son for 3 nights and our experience was nothing short of magical. The property is breathtakingly beautiful and truly a hidden gem. Sharyn was the sweetest and most generous host, and was so helpful with her communication - She made sure we had everything we needed for our baby as well as helpful tips for our arrival to the property, and getting to know the area. Our beautiful little cottage was stocked with breakfast goodies, fruit, wine and treats, and she even had a pack-and-play and high chair all set up for our baby. The gorgeous pool and lush grounds felt like our own little secluded tropical oasis. We enjoyed stargazing in the private hot tub every night, and watched the most beautiful sunrise over the ocean from the cliff just a few minutes' walk from the property. We knew our little guy wouldn't be able to handle the entire drive to Hana, but this location made it easy to explore a few of the earlier (baby-friendly!) stops (Twin Falls, Garden of Eden, Rainbow Eucalyptus Trees) with just a short easy drive from our cottage. Sharyn's recommendations and tips for local food and attractions were awesome too, and enhanced our trip even more!

Amazing property! Our stay was not near long enough!
Hubby and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a stay in Haleakala Cottage at Huelo Point Lookout! While we enjoyed each place we stayed in Maui on our week-long visit, Sharyn made this one extra special! We were greeted with flowers (collected from the beautiful property) all over the cottage, making it quite a romantic, enjoyable stay! We spent most of our time right on the property, enjoying the flowers and trees of the "jungle", beautiful sunsets on Huelo Point, the birds, fresh eggs from the resident chickens...too many little things to mention! A very special escape!!! We will be back!!

This is a Must-Stay
If you are visiting the North/jungley part of the island, you must stay at this property. It's not just the hospitality that is next level, this property is absolutely gorgeous, magical and has everything you will ever need and beyond. You have your own jacuzzi in the yard in addition to there being a pool on the property. The outdoor shower is something to be envious about and I wish I could take it home with me...nothing better than showering in nature. Perfectly warm water if you need it and even low shower head for rinsing your feet. The bathroom is filled with plenty of bath and beach towels. The hosts are more accommodating than your own family - upon arrival, the place was filled with flowers that grow on the property arranged in beautiful bowls with candles. The fridge was filled with fresh eggs that also come from the property, fresh yummy bread, butter and jams and a COMPLIMENTARY bottle of wine and sweet chocolates. Snacks and drinks are also available for purchase just like at a hotel for when you don't want to leave (you will not want to). This property is super conveniently located for road to Hana and the towns - Paia is where we spent time shopping and gazing, and bought groceries to cook in one night. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything to make a nice meal. Haiku is really close too. We ran out of shampoo one day, told Sharyn, and by the time we got back, there were shampoo bottles waiting for us. We didn't want to bother her too much and she was there for us with anything. We wanted to meet her just so we can put a face to this beautiful soul that was so hospitable and accommodating but if you want privacy, you will be left alone. I fully recommend reading the book/guide when you get it - you'll find many answers in it and more pointers of super valuable information. Mahalo, Sharyn and we hope to be back very soon! Aloha!

This cottage served as the perfect home away from home for our dream Hawaii vacation! Everything was as described and more. We prefer to be away from all of the other tourists and Huelo Point is the perfect location for that. We enjoyed the private space and constant ocean breezes flowing through the cottage. After spending a few days on the south shore snorkeling for the "beach half" of our vacation, my wife and I stayed here for four nights for the "jungle half." It was incredible! It can be easy to feel like a clueless tourist on Maui (because, face it, you probably are!) but this quiet, peaceful corner allows you to relax away from the hustle and bustle of the prime tourist destinations - while still being minutes away from them! The place is a couple miles into the Road to Hana, so we felt especially smug about getting a head start on our Hana day trip to beat the tourist traffic, and the drive back from Hana was much shorter than it would've been had we stayed elsewhere on the island, so that was a major perk! We also loved just relaxing in the private hot tub under the night sky (great stargazing), laying by the pool, and checking in on the chickens. Everything felt very private. Sharyn was extremely welcoming. This B&B is clearly very loved.

A lovely private oasis
We loved our stay at the Cosy Cottage Retreat! We appreciated being off the beaten path and on a less busy part of the island. Being our first time on the island, however, we spent a lot of time exploring rather than relaxing there, but cottage was comfortable and private. We enjoyed star gazing in the hot tub at night. We really liked the outdoor shower too! Sharyn was a great host, she checked in on us and responded quickly to any requests or questions we had. The location is a bit of a drive from anything else on the island, but if you are looking for a cute and comfortable place away from the hustle and bustle, this is a perfect place! Also, a great place to start the Rd. to Hana!Thank you, Sharyn! We hope to come back again someday!

Great adventure base!
Sharyn was a great host and really excels at making her guests feel welcome. From the fresh bread and eggs to the complimentary bottle of rose for our honeymoon - all of these special touches made our stay superb! We would definitely stay again :)

Green Retreat on road to Hana
Nice isolation with Amenities. The fruit basket was delightful. Has good cliff views for a morning walk.

Paradise in Maui
We had such a wonderful time!! We wanted to be off the beaten path and this was perfect!! Upon arrival there was beautiful welcome flowers everywhere! Bottle of wine, eggs, bread and fruit- everything we needed for the first night and first breakfast . Cozy & quaint - 500 sq feet of all we could ever need in a Hawaii Bungalow!!! We will be back!!

Lovely get away
Sharyn and Jeff have a property that we felt so at home in! The Haleakala Cottage was such a beautiful little spot. The grounds are amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn't get to meet until the last day when Sharyn took us on a tour of the property, pointing out the fruit trees and telling stories about developing the property. What a treat to stay there. NOTE: It is definitely off the beaten path, so you have to be okay with that.

Absolute hidden gem!
You know when you are looking for that special listing on VRBO? This is it! Honestly the pics don't do it justice. You are literally in the middle of the rain forest surrounded by plants you have never seen in your life, a sea of stars above you as you are soaking in the hot tub, truly a special place. It's also the perfect starting point to explore Road to Hana. The host is super nice and really accommodating too. Replies to questions were answered in minutes. Oh, and don't forget to do the Ocean Walk during the sunrise. You'll know what I'm talking about when you get there. Absolutely gorgeous!

Heavenly Tropical !
The cottage is located in the best place if you are looking to spend more time on the greener part of Maui. My husband and I really enjoyed our time in this house. Sharyn and Jeff are such Wonderful friendly host, they had lovely tropical flowers display and fruit setup for our arrival and place had everything you would need at all during the stay, they also suggested beaches for us to visit near by, which turned out to be great. The highlights for us was stargazing on the lounge chair in the backyard which also has a hot tub and of course lot of privacy provided by the plants around. We spent a lot of time on the Hana and Paia side and drive from this cottage was very convenient. You get the best of Maui with less crowd. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice gateway and sweet place to stay! Thank you for hosting us Sharyn and Jeff , we will come back when in Maui next time!

Paradise for Hawaiian Honeymoon
We loved this property so much and Sharyn is the sweetest host! From the moment we walked in to the guesthouse we felt a warm welcome with fresh flowers decorating the place. We enjoyed the secluded backyard space and hot tub as well as the amazing outdoor shower! Great location for being a bit closer to some of the main road to Hana spots and just being out of the most “touristy” area for a bit!

Cute, Comfy, and Quiet
Nice & slightly off the beaten path cottage along the early portions of the road to Hana. Great location for just relaxing or visiting Hana/Upcountry/Haleakala! Hosts are super nice and great communicators. Full kitchen along with private hot tub and access to a pool make this a great location for just chillin or visiting local attractions. There are four cottages on site, but, along with ample vegetation, they are situated so they are still very private. We loved our stay!!!!
