I had a great time getting to know Don and Catherine during a weeklong trip to Hillsdale for research in the college archives. They're really wonderful people, straight shooters, right down the middle. I hope I'll have an excuse to come back!

Very old interesting house. If you are into all the most modern conviemces, then may not be for you. All the comforts are there like visiting old friends. Owners are very friendly and accomodating. No air conditioning, but the portable unit in the room made it comfortable enough.

This cozy little B&B was truly a delightful experience. We stayed for two nights over the Hillsdale College Parent's weekend and we have no intentions of staying anywhere else when we visit Hillsdale over the course of our daughter's four years at the College. Don, the proprietor, is wonderful and accommodating. Our daughter joined us for breakfast, the room was clean and inviting, and the home itself is profoundly charming.

Coming up roses at the Rose Garden
Rose Garden is an excellent value and place to stay. Donald is a conscientious host, very helpful in every respect. The breakfast he prepares for guests is amazing.

Fall in Hillsdale
Very historic house in the heart of Hillsdale. Great character within this old house, but be prepared to live without all the upgrades. Host is wonderful and service was great.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Stately 1863 house. Great breakfast daily. Don was very accommodating and flexible for check in/out and use of facilities. Great conversationalist and historian of Hillsdale. We will check availability for our next visit!

We loved our stay at the Rose Corner Inn! Very friendly and accommodating staff, nice room, and they provide breakfast. We did not have a private bathroom, but that did not cause any problems. Will definitely stay again if we return to Hillsdale!

Fantastic host
I was there on a college tour with my son and chose a B&B instead of a brand name motel because for its charm and affordability. What the Rose Corner Inn does not have in terms of modern amenities (shared bathroom is the biggest drawback), it makes up for in character and personalized welcome. Don is a great host and source of a lot of local information. Highly recommend

Was a very nice location and close to downtown Hillsdale. Since there is only common bathrooms, would be nice to have robes provided in the bedrooms for guest use. Other than that is a very nice B&B and will use again next time in Hillsdale, Michigan.

Nice railroad era mansion turned into a B&B. The home is clean and comfortable and Donald is a really nice proprietor. If you are looking for modern or fancy this isn’t the place for you but if you want old world charm and creaky floors you’ll feel right at home.

Delightful host. Convenient location to downtown and Hillsdale College. Meets basic needs, no frills. Bathroom was shared (not private). Needs bigger mirrors in individual rooms. Wi-fi available. Great value for the price.

Good quiet house to stay in for a getaway. Host is nice and personable. Beds very comfortable my 12 year old fell asleep very fast after mentioning how comfortable the bed was. Only complaint was lock on bathroom door broken but i never felt like anyone was going to bother me if door closed.

This place an architectural treasure
Worth staying here just to experience an extraordinary old home. The architectural details are over the top. While shared bathrooms aren’t always ideal, they worked well here and the inn was full because of graduation. Shower faucets were a bit finicky. A few thinks you expect we’re missing like facial tissue and a hair dryer. We slept well and felt very welcome.

It was a very nice place. Didn't get enough time to walk around and look at all of the things in the house, but looked like a nice Victorian era home. Beware of the tall curbs there - - tore up my wheel pretty good.

Great B&B in Hillsdale
This is a great, convenient place to stay if you're visiting Hillsdale. Some things to keep in mind... It is that it is a bed-and-breakfast, so you'll be sharing a bathroom with other people staying upstairs with you (there are 3 or 4 rooms upstairs.) The breakfast is ready for you when you want it. The proprietor asks when you'd like breakfast, and he has it waiting at a set table in the kitchen when you come down from your great night's sleep. The room is very comfortable, and there are any amenities you may need for a night or a week. Highly recommended...enjoy the Rose Corner Inn!

Donald is very hospitable.
Very convenient to campus. Expedia listed private bath and that was not the case. The number of shared baths is more than adequate though. Will stay again.

Unsafe and unsecure
First red flag: the side door, through the kitchen, is kept unlocked 24-hours a day. So anyone who wants to have access to the home has it. Second red flag: upstairs bedroom has no lock & key, which means that anyone who wants access to your room has it. Third flag: shared bathroom down the hall has no key, so if a guest needs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, they don't know who has access to the bathroom, nor for that matter do they know if anyone has accessed their room while using the bathroom. Objectively, a B&B must have secure locks on doors to keep their guests safe. This B&B isn't even close.

1st the side door is locked after the last guess come in i make sure of it. second all of our rooms had lock on the doors and lock from both the inside and out. In 10years never has anything from anybody been stolen in our inn Third.. all of our bathroom have either lock or latches on them .. all of them. If you did not feel secured we would have refunded yourmoney and moved you to other hotels We have never in 10 years have had to call the police or have had to ask some one to leave. If you felt so concern y dint you say something to me as you check in???
