This was a nice, clean, well stocked cabin that gave access to both yellowstone and teton. It was a nice quiet base of opperations away from the hustle and bustle of the park camp sites.

Great unit, Okay Location
The unit was excellent. Had everything we need, great decor, very clean, felt cozy. This is advertised as being close to Yellowstone, and it is, but it's still about an hour drive or more into Yellowstone proper. Just keep that in mind as you book. One bit of feedback for the host is that our unit was surrounded by dirt, not gravel or grass, which quickly turned into a massive mud pit with the steady rain during our visit. My sneakers got ruined coming out of the car at night not knowing this, and we were dealing with tons of mud every time we came back to the place. Please help out your future guests by putting down gravel or grass. It rained steadily during our time there, and we had no break from the muddiness every time we exited the property. Other than that, it was a great place to stay.

Charming cottage
Charming little cottage not far from Yellowstone West. I appreciated the washer/drier and the layout made perfect use of the space. Binder of great info helped us navigate the area perfectly.

When we walked there was a funky smell. Fridge and washer were smelly. Dishes were not clean and dish towel smelled like sour milk. Only one light in the bathroom worked. Wall heater did not work. Had to use portable heater and fireplace. Hassle to move heater around. Why didn’t the main heat work? There was used bandaids in the shower drain. So gross. Overall not clean. Location was good for getting to Yellowstone and Mesa Falls.

We are sorry to hear that the cabin wasn't up to your expectations upon arrival. We did not receive any form of communication from you and wish you would have called if you had issues regarding cleaning. Our cleaners would have come over right away and taken care of any issues that you had. The cabin was definitely cleaned with fresh linens and towels brought before your arrival so I'm not sure where the smell would have been coming from. The heater in the living room was not working so multiple heaters were brought over so you wouldn't have had to move them at all. Thank you for leaving us review, we hope you can stay again.

Perfect little cabin for two!
We were meeting family for a trip to Yellowstone and this was a great choice. Everything was as described and the communication before and after was excellent. Nice features including a/c and WiFi for us less than pioneer folk 😉. Not a far drive to restaurant options and about 40 minutes to the west Yellowstone gate. Would recommend!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our trip to Yellowstone in early August. They had everything you could even think of to need for the kitchen. The only thing we didn't find was an oven mitt but we just used a towel in place of one. When we arrived, it did say there was wifi but we could not get it to work. We didn't really worry about it though since it did say you may not have it when booking. They have Dish so there was plenty of channels to choose from on the tv when we would return from a long day in the park. It was very nice for just the two of us. It is about 30-40 minutes outside of the West entrance and there isn't a whole lot in Island Park food wise, especially if you arrive pretty late, but the rental itself has no say in that so it is just up to you if you are willing to have those trade-offs. We thought it was worth it for the price of the cabin.

This cabin has literally everything you might need, right down to bear spray! Cozy, warm, a wonderful place to come back to after a day in Yellowstone. If we find ourselves in the area in the future, we would not hesitate to stay here again. Well worth the money. Highly recommended.

We spent 4 nights at Fox Tail Cabin while visiting Yellowstone. It was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The cabin had everything the two of us needed and it was a nice place to come back to after exploring and hiking in Yellowstone. As an added bonus, one morning we saw moose outside the cabin.

We loved it!!
The cabin was cute, cozy, and clean. It was only 30 minutes from West Yellowstone/West Entrance so it was easy and quick to get back after the day in Yellowstone National Park. When we got back to the cabin the second night, there was a moose and her baby eating off one of the trees!! It was awesome!!

Great cabin.
Had everything needed for the two of us. The only problems were with the parking and road. It got very muddy with the rain and snow. It was hard to bring our supplies and luggage in without the worry of tracking it in the cabin. Also, the Yellowstone entrance is about 26 miles away.

Very nice & comfortable, but lacking amenities. No salt & pepper, no tissue, awful TV, spotty WIFI. glass tray in microwave missing. Grounds were mud. It was also a very long way from Yellowstone. Enjoyed our stay overall, but a lot of driving. Would stay elsewhere next time.

Very cute cabin! We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect, comes fully furnished, even has a washer and dryer and WiFi. Plus only a half hour away from West Yellowstone. We will definitely be staying here again!

Highly recommended clean, equipped, comfortable cabin
The description of the property was precisely as advertised (actually I felt it was even better than expected when I arrived) and the directions and check-in/out instructions were clear. Our one phone call to inquire where the bear-proof garbage cans were located was quickly and kindly answered. For the price, this is an excellent value and an extremely functional place to stay. All appliances were in clean and working order. The bed was comfortable with plenty of comfortable pillows. It depends on personal preference of course but I found the egg-crate mattreas topper very supportive without being in any way distracting. This did create a very "high bed" effect. We stayed at Foxtail cabin as a family of 3 with our teenaged son, who slept very soundly on the futon. There was not much privacy at this particular cabin due to the bedroom being within earshot of the neighboring cabin, so this wouldn't be an ideal romantic getaway for just my wife and I, but it was a perfect outpost for a family exploring Yellowstone. The cabin is almost 40 minutes (each way) from the west Yellowstone entrance, but there are several gas stations and decent restaurants within 15 minutes of the cabin which was a good trade-off for an otherwise slightly inconvenient distance from YNP. Nevertheless, for the price, cleanliness, responsiveness of the property management and family-friendly setting (very calm and pleasant fellow vacationers nearby--no noise or raucous folk) I'd highly recommend this property if you want to see Island Park and/or the Tetons or Yellowstone. Just use the easy-to-access cabin WiFi to download a great Spotify playlist for your extra road miles!

We rented the cabin to visit Yellowstone for a few days. Very clean cabin, located in a quiet forested area. Has excellent internet connection, for doing information research. The first night we seen a black bear just down the road from the cabin. The cabin added to the overall enjoyment of the trip.

Off for a great time
We loved staying here. Only complaint from us is the size of bedroom . Too close on both sides to get in and out of bed. If we had been big people we would have had a hard time. The cabin had all you needed for a long stay. Loved it inside and out. Great towels. I like better grade of toilet paper but it still did the job.

Great Experience
The cabin worked well beyond our expectations. It was fully furnished down to the coffee filters and ice packs in the freezer. We have a 12 and 8 year old and the couch worked well for the two of them. A nice surprise was an inflatable bed above the washer and dryer. We traveled to Yellowstone and Tetons from this location and it was nice half hour drive to escape the crowds. Would definitely rent here again.

Clean and well maintained. They are still working on the surrounding area on the grounds and landscaping. It was perfect for what we were doing, less than a 30 minute drive to Yellowstone West Entry. I would definitely stay here again!
