Everyone was so friendly from the minute we checked in, cost was unbelievably reasonable, restaurant was great, and lakeside bar was fantastic!! We needed another chair on the balcony, we only had one while others had two. And I hope they fix the toilet in the room we stayed, it just stopped working the morning we were leaving. Would recommend for a lovely lakeside stay!

Very nice location - right on the lake. I ordered from the restaurant below - pretty good! Someone left the music from the restaurant on after they closed, which we could hear loudly in our rented room. At 1am I finally went down to get them to turn it off and the desk person acted like that would be a problem. And a simple late checkout would be a problem. Lost a customer.

I am so sorry about the music. The people working the hotel do not have the code to access the restaurant so he had to make some phone calls to get that taken care of. A late check out shouldnt have been a problem however. If you do decide to give us another try my name is Lisa and i would be hapy to discount a future stay for you.

The staff and service at this place are outstanding!!!!! In a GREAT location. The rooms are big, and everything is clean, but old. Had difficulty in using the heater from the thermostat. The bed creaked A LOT! No cameras in the parking lot. Overall, if they redecorate and bring the place up to speed, I would stay there in a minute as the STAFF IS AMAZING!!!!! It just changed ownership hands, so hopefully they make needed changes in newer beds, appliances or hardware, and cameras in the parking lot.

Florida in the Midwest
My wife and I were looking to take advantage of the unseasonably warm Indian summer for an overnight stay when we happened upon the Blue Heron Inn. OH how delightful! Beautiful views of the lake, restaurant on site, helpful staff, and just the hotel itself was old Florida. Great location, balconies, great hot breakfast! Can't wait to stay here again, highly recommend!

Beautiful view & comfortable room
Room was very comfortable . Decor could use updating but everything worked & was clean . We loved the view from the deck , but the air conditioner fans from our room and the hallway ruined the experience but putting out hot air that could not be avoided. Also the fans were very noisy.

Extremely disappointed
TV fingerprints all over screen dust all on stand remote not working. Box springs were all ripped up. Mold and dust in bathroom, floor so sticky shoes were sticking to it. Head board damaged, room needs to be touched up paint was chipped and scratched. Lint over the carpet. Breakfast? Coffee and a pastry ? The best thing about the place was the view from the balcony.

Attractive, cozy hotel with interesting decor, especially the canoe next to the fireplace and numerous lovely paintings / photos; the location on the marina, plus a pool, make for a very pleasant stay. The TV is pretty small for such a large room and the channel info is incomplete; the outlets under the side table in the corner do not function.

It’s noticeable that the change in ownership has brought on less attention to maintenance and necessary upgrades as things wear out. It looks like the top priority now is taking the profits and not reinvesting in the property to make it top notch. In my room, the plumbing fixtures that had been deluxe 20 years ago, are now stained, and discolored beyond salvage, and worn out. The shower control didn’t oven work right any more. It doesn’t take much to then look around a bit and see more, such as the towell bar that is now fastened to a simple 4”x6” painted piece of plywood with oversized wood screws. This is the kind of stuff you’d see at a low budget motel. The bedding.., I was clean, but worn out, and you’d easily find better at Walmart. When I ate at T-Bones, the manager lady was having verbal arguments back and forth with the staff. Totally unacceptable and inappropriate. I didn’t see where the staff was doing anything wrong (I was receiving exceptional service), but if they did need counseling for whatever reason, it should be in private, not in front of the customers or other staff. The stranger lady eating across from me even remarked to me that it looked like there was “trouble in paradise” :).
