This was our third time staying at the East Side Beach House during our younger kids' spring break and, true to form, the location continues to be equal parts relaxing and energizing.
Two years ago, in mid-March Marquette was 70 and sunny and we walked barefoot on the beach. This year, we had gale-force winds and a major winter storm. We spent hours on the second floor watching the waves crash into, and quickly erode, the ice mounds along the beach. Lake Superior's fury amidst white-out conditions was an absolute delight to behold. Of course, it helps to do so from inside a snug, comfortable home whilst sipping the tasty coffee provided by our gracious hosts.
We continue to appreciate the airy brightness of the kitchen, the coziness of the living room, the thoughtful selection of books to sample, and the walking distance proximity to many of our favorite places such as the Crib. The home was also an ideal place to host a game night for our NMU-attending kiddo and friends.
If you're looking for a place to immediately feel at home while on vacation, don't hesitate. This place is magical.
