“We were attending our grandsons wedding at apple Hill and needed a location to spend the night after the wedding. Chuckkelli Cottage fit the bill. The cottage was clean and comfortable. The location was relatively close to hwy 50 in Placerville.”

“This was the second time few co-workers from Sacramento meet for a few days on a working business retreat away from daily interuptions. One of us wanted to go home to his family at night which worked well since it was only about a 40 minute commute. The place is very well furnished and clean. There is lots of natural light inside and nice outdoor seating areas. I suspect we will be back.”

“This was probably one of the best rentals we have ever stayed at. Peaceful, quiet and cozy. Loved being out in the lovely country setting yet only minutes into Placerville. The host was marvelous, we will be back!”

“Hummingbird House is clean and spacious, and has pretty much everything you need. The views are very pretty and there is plenty of outdoor space to enjoy--with decking on three sides and lots of outdoor furniture and three sets of sliding doors. The only negative I would mention is that the laundry room is on the other side of the bedroom wall, so you can hear the washing machine when it is running and it was somewhat loud. Also, there is no TV, but if you want to watch TV (as we did) a laptop...

“The home is in a great location. All of the utensils needed were in the kitchen. All of the rooms were very clean and ready for our stay when we arrived. Check in was extremely easy. The hosts were helpful and answered questions in a timely manner. We had a wonderful experience.”

“This house was amazing. Beautiful yard, amazing views, and located just far enough from town to have everything you need nearby and still feel a bit secluded. Bob had something cooking in the smoker which filled the yard with something delicious! Both he and Jean were a pleasure to meet and chat with a bit. All in all a great trip and awesome property!”

“My husband and I loved our stay here. The cottage was clean and well-decorated. We enjoyed saying hi to the horses in the pasture and giving them treats. Our host was nice enough to start a fire for us in the fire pit outside. The only downside was that the road from the main part of town to the property was narrow.”

“I had a wonderful stay, the hosts Lori and Jeff were so welcoming and generous in spirit. I can't imagine better hosts. This was the best vacation rental I could ever imagine. They were even nice to my dog Maggie.”

“A little small but it was okay since we mainly just slept here. There was enough beds for everyone including extra thick mattress for another person to sleep on if needed. The owners do live on property but they gave us our privacy. Any interactions we had with them were very friendly. Remote location with nice views but close enough to town. And a lot of extra amenities and little freebies. Made us feel very welcome!!!”

“Stayed to visit family in the area. Very easy access to area roads, groceries, fuel, restaurants. The "theme" for the rental was an extra bonus because my spouse rebuilds cars - so we enjoyed that as well. It was the perfect place.”

“This place was private, quiet, roomy and on a lovely property. It was centrally located in the heart of Apple Hill. I was able to come and go with no issues and I loved that they had a full kitchen I could utilize. It was a little off the beaten path but still close enough I could easily access restaurants and local shopping. The owners were such a delight and very kind. I would 100% stay there again and plan to in the future! ”
