About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Conch'd Out Beach Cottage: Semi-private beach. Relaxing Getaway. Adults only.

Welcome to Conch'd Out Beach Cottage! Soak up the sun and unwind on the pink-speckled sand of the easy-going island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas! The Cottage is located just a few steps away from a soft sand beach and clear turquoise water. On a shoreline with only a couple neighboring properties, you'll oftentimes have this beach all to yourselves. This is the perfect place to get away, but still close enough to restaurants and activities when you decide to venture.

Getting here:

We are centrally located on the Atlantic side of the island in the town of North Palmetto Point, just outside the town of Governor's Harbour (a 15 minute drive to grocery stores and restaurants).

While Governor's Harbour (GHB) is the nearest airport, you may also fly into North Eleuthera (ELH) or Rock Sound (RSD). North Eleuthera Airport is further away, but you can rent a car and view several attractions along the drive to our home - Glass Window Bridge, Queen's Baths, Hatchet Bay Cave, etc. Rock Sound Airport is on the south end of the island, closest to Ocean Hole and golf courses.

About Us:

Our home is named after the seashell "conch" (pronounced "KONK"). The property was built in 1999 and purchased by new owners in October 2020. Although an older home, the new owners fell in love with its ocean views, direct location on the beach, and relaxed island vibe. Not needing much more than a simple abode, soft sand and sun, this is where they come to get away from it all, breathe in the fresh air, warm up and recharge. They welcome you to do the same!

Perfect getaway for two
My husband and I come to Eleuthera every year for our anniversary and love Conch’d Out (cottage and house). The cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway but also close enough to restaurants, Island Farm, GHB airport, and Governor’s Harbour do things when you want to get out. A beautiful quiet pink sand beach and lovely sunrises are at your doorstep. Only thing we missed was a dishwasher because we enjoy cooking fresh seafood some nights when we don’t want to go out to dinner - but when you cook for only two it’s not an issue. The main house does have a dishwasher if you stay there. The property manager Anne Bethel graciously stopped by to see us soon after arrival and communicated with us prior to and throughout our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. We will be going back for 2 weeks next year!

Perfect for Two
Great beach out your back door. It was windy for the first part of the week but calmed down our last few days so we could get the kayak out a little and also snorkel around a little. You can also get out of the wind or sun at the South end of the beach where there’s a nice hill for a wind block. Also very private area…The kitchen has everything you’d need including separate filtered water tap. We spent most of our days going to other beaches but still nice to have that view in the morning and evening. Great communication. There’s a generator although we didn’t lose power once. Water to outside shower went out once (city supply issue) but we still had water inside. Could use a separate foot wash under the outdoor shower but that’s all I could see the place needed. Also, sliding door requires a little effort to open/close. Worth the money.

Nice spot
Very clean, a little sparse, but a beautiful spot. The weather wasn't good for snorkeling or flyfishing so we spent a lot of time at the villa reading. The one day we did snorkel we found the reefs out front pretty barren. Would like to have had the entertainment system working but in the 2 weeks we were there nobody bothered to do anything about it

Heaven on Eleuthera!
This was our fourth visit to the island of Eleuthera and our favorite place to stay thus far. At Conch'd Out you are central to most ammenities including grocery stores, restaurants, beaches, tourist points (Leons Levy, Tippys) boutique shops and the historic town of Governors Harbour. (Approx 10 min drive) YET you are in a quiet suburb, off the beaten track. You have direct access to a gorgeous, secluded beach with soft powdery sand, just steps away from your door! The turquois blue waters of the ocean are mesmerizing. We had no desire to go anywhere else as this truly was the best place to be. A true Bahamian experience. The bungalow is well appointed and has everything you will need for a weeks stay. Excellent communicaton between the property manager, Anne, and the villas owners made our stay even more enjoyable. We cannot wait to return!!

Enjoyable Stay..
The Beach Cottage was clean and ready early which was great since we had an early flight out of Miami. I communicated with Anne upon arrivial to the airport and the drive to the house was uneventfull, except for having two flat tires ..welcome to Eleuthera! The Beach House is closer than projected on the website and is above (on a hill) the Beach Cottage. That being said, the porch/deck on the Cottage has no privacy if the Beach House is occupied. This might or might not be an issue with future grests. Other than that cottage was great and the location has very good road access.

Super Spot!
Lovely cottage - perfect for 2 people - and great location. The beach was very private and the views/sound of the waves were incredible. The water was a bit rough but we managed to snorkel most days. There could be a few more kitchen items such as pots and pans/bowls, but the availability of drinking water (reverse osmosis) more than made up for it. We have been to Eleuthera many times and this was definitely our favourite spot!

Quiet cottage with incredible views
Conch’d Out Beach Cottage was an ideal getaway for my husband and I. The cottage was immaculate, quiet, peaceful and mostly private, as the Conch’d Out beach house next door was only booked for a few days during our stay, which meant the rest of the time it was empty. View can’t be beat and we loved hearing the waves all night. The beach at the cottage is quiet and mostly private. We saw footprints but very few people. The cottage itself is nicely appointed, spacious yet cozy, and plenty for 2 people. King bed is very extremely comfy, I would call it med-firm. Shower is large and water pressure is great. Plenty of comfy seating inside and outside on the patio. Location on the island is close to mid-way, which is a nice jumping off point for destinations both North and South. Plenty of food choices within 15 minutes drive. Everyone we met was friendly, and Anne was a text away if we needed anything. Really a perfect stay :)

What an amazing location!! The little house is super clean and the view is beautiful and the beach is just below the house!! The kitchen is well stocked and the bed is very comfortable! The power was out multiple times while we where staying at conch’d out, but their generator always kicked right on and we where good to go! Cant go wrong staying here! Super cute place! Thanks also to the property manager Anne! She is very helpful and also has the best little farm stand (island Farm)! Great place to get homemade breads, fresh local produce and cheese etc…. Enjoy your stay at this little gem of a place!!

Is it Paradise? Yes!
Property was absolutely delightful. Private and secluded, which is everything we like about vacation. The back up generator was perfect as we had numerous storms move through overnight. Snorkeling off the beach of this house was one of the best snorkeling spots we experienced on the entire island. Be careful though, and go at low tide, use the provided kayak/anchors at high tide. House was clean, had ample amount of amenities, and i honestly can not think of any negatives. We walked the beach for a long distance one day and only saw two other folks. It was neat watching the land crabs and the birds stalking them. The birds even visited us on the deck a few mornings. Nature at its best. We are looking at dates to come back and stay at this perfect property. It really does not get any better.

Conch'D out!
Cottage was as advertised. Very clean, Great access to beach and secluded. Would like to have an umbrella on the deck for afternoon and early morning shade. Only hiccup we incurred was the genset did not function when electric went out (happened several times) Owner did give us a refund to compensate for the trouble. Very appreciative. Would stay at this property again!

Best beach on the Island
The accommodations were perfect for 2 people. The beach was perfect and we only ever saw a couple of other people while out there. Centrally located on the Island and always something that you can go out and do but in the end the best beach is right out the door. If you run into the gardener he might even cut open a coconut for you as he did for us. Backup generator and water systems are a must and there's all worked great. Furniture was nice and kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils and had everything we needed.

The cottage is perfect for 2 people. Has everything needed to cook and has a washer / dryer. The Atlantic is steps away. Small waves and good snorkeling. Very private - you are unlikely to see anyone on the beach. No issues whatsoever with our stay. We would definitely stay here again. Owners were staying at the house, a very nice couple.

The perfect little beach cottage!
From the second we walked up, we couldn't believe that this cute little cottage with stunning views was going to be our home for the next 8 nights. Everything about it was just what was needed - QUIET serenity, with just the sound of singing birds and the ocean waves, great location (on one of the better roads on the island!), comfortable bed with an ocean view, well-stocked kitchen, washer/dryer, water purifier, and a back-up generator. Anne was so wonderfully responsive when needed, which was very appreciated. Overall, just a fantastic stay! I hope we can return again soon, and stay a little longer.

Extraordinary
I almost don’t want to write a positive review for fear it won’t be available when we come back! 🤣. The house was exactly as described, clean, everything we needed! We were all over the island, so central location was excellent. The beach was beautiful- at low tide it was really fun to look over tide pools in rocks. The first day the sand was SUPER soft like quick sand, but that was not the case any days following. The kitchen was well stocked, shower was nice, washer dryer were very useful. We were well supported by the manager and had no complaints!

The Perfect Vacation Spot!
We did not want to leave Eleuthera and would have been thrilled to get to stay at Conch’d Out Beach Cottage at least another week… this was a clear sign to us that we found the perfect vacation destination! Anne and her staff have thought of every detail to make your stay at Conch’d Out comfortable. For example, the bed & linens seemed brand new, the water pressure & new shower were great, the beach umbrella & chairs came in handy on our daily beach adventures, and we appreciated the water dispenser, in-room laundry facilities, motion-controlled outdoor lighting at night, generator (for the frequent power outages on the island), wifi, clear & organized information package, etc. We have zero complaints about our accommodations or the care we received and appreciate all the work that went into making this vacation destination a possibility for us. We highly recommend Eleuthera if you want peace & quiet and if you enjoy exploring natural beaches. While we were a tad disappointed that Mother Nature didn’t let up on the big surf that pounded the shores at Conch’d Out all week, we quickly realized that no matter the wind direction/surf, you can easily get to another part of the island that has completely different conditions. For example, even though we didn’t get to experience the snorkeling at Conch’d out that everybody raves about, we simply headed a bit south to Islandia Beach (where the coast is at a slightly different angle to the surf) and we were able to get in the water there and enjoyed some good snorkeling and amazingly soft “pink” sand. When the wind was howling on the Atlantic coast, we simply made the 5-10 minute jaunt across to the other side and spent an idyllic day at Paw Paw beach with no one else around, white sand bars to explore for shells and sand dollars, and a cay within swimming distance to explore… so much fun!!! By the end of our stay, we were thankful that the “poor” weather conditions on our side “forced” us to explore other areas of the island. Plus, now we have an excuse to come back another year (for two weeks next time!!) to hopefully get some weather that is calmer at Conch’d Out so that we can make full use of the amazing (private!!!) cozy beach cove and beautiful ocean life right out their front steps. We truly hope we are able to return some day to enjoy this unique opportunity!
