This lovely hotel is a bit of an uphill hike from the center of San Miguel de Allende (adding a nice workout to a shopping or dining excursion). The rooms are very pretty. The rainfall shower head was an unexpected pleasure. The rooftop terrace provides gorgeous views of the city. The lack of air conditioning made it a little uncomfotable during the recent heatwave. A fan was provided.

The rooftop patio views are amazing at night and quiet. The room was beautiful bed comfortable, with exception poor ventilation. needs AC or window . Walk to hotel from Centro de San Miguel de Allende is STEEP, i recommend taxi 70 pesos ( 4 bucks) or local bus Camino ( under a dollar) the bus stop feet away from this beautiful Gem. AMAZING Staff.

The hotel itself is beautiful and the rooms are fabulous. The staff is really accommodating and gets you anything you ask for. HOWEVER if you plan to stay here, be sure to rent a car, find parking or use a taxi or a bus because walking to this place is the worst ever. You have to climb a very long steep, very steep hill to get back to the hotel from downtown and it’s all on cobblestone. I spent my entire entire week walking up and down the cobblestone steep hill and it was very unpleasant. The hotel is not located near the downtown area where most of the restaurants and stores and amenities are located. This hotel will be great if you have a car, but then you would have to find parking somewhere, there is also a beautiful roof patio that has a full view of the city which is really beautiful. Since I was new to the area, it would’ve been nice if the hotel staff had told me about some of the shops and cafés that were actually right next-door but I never saw them because I didn’t go that direction to go downtown.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. Oscar and his staff were lovely and helpful. Our Spanish isn’t great so there were many times Google translate was very helpful when Oscar was not there. If you plan on having an afternoon siesta, like us, you may decide to take a cab ride (80 pesos) or local bus (8 pesos) at least one direction. The hotel is close to the centre of town but uphill and sometimes we just wanted to ‘save’ our legs for other walking. I sure hope we get to go back to SMA soon and stay here again! (FYI amazing sunsets on the rooftop patio!)

The hotel was listed in the zona central. It was pretty far from the downtown area, not really in terms of distance but the hill that had to be climbed from downtown to the hotel was pretty steep and strenuous. The hotel is on a fairly busy street with cars, buses and trucks going by and lots of exhaust fumes.

Had a great time here. The owner/manager was fantastic. Lots of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. Some of the stairs to the rooms are pretty steep so let them know if you have mobility issues. The hike down to the town is steep but there are lots of cabs to drive you back if necessary. San Miguel is very touristy but worth a visit if you are in Mexico.

Easy parking complementary parking. Hotel is walking distance to church and plaza (about 10 mins), very safe area. It’s uphill, so walk back feels a bit heavy. The hotel is clean, well kept. Attentive staff. No food options in hotel, but lost of options in the center. There is hot water. No A/C, but it was cold so no need, can’t say how hot it is during summer. Would book again on another trip. Hotel is pretty and rustic.

The hotel operator, Oscar, was extremely nice and helpful from the moment we arrived until we departed. Oscar gave us many local tips for where to eat and arranged a priviate driver for us to visit the pyramid. We picked this hotel away from the town center thinking it would be quieter than hotels near the the town center. Didn't know this hotel was on a heavily travelled road with city busses passing often. No very quiet location but using ear plugs to sleep helped. Beautiful view of the city from the hotel rooftop which we'd often watch the sunset with a bottle of wine.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Meson. The room was great and very well located. The staff was right there for anything we needed and Oscar is a wealth of information about the area. I will be back to this hotel when I travel to SMA.

I highly recommend this hotel. It is clean, quiet and in a great location. Oscar, the Manager, is kind, helpful and patient. A bonus for travelers with limited Spanish speaking ability, is his fluency in English. The only caveat is that if you have limited mobility, be sure to let the hotel know in advance so they can put you in a suitable room as some can only be reached via a spiral staircase.

Súper lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff who were at your service for anything. My room was so clean, it was tidied every day to perfection, the bed was very comfy, the shower was hot, big and powerful. Gorgeous rooftop with great view over the city. Only thing was the curtains were very thing and light coloured so got woke up quite early. Otherwise would recommend to anyone looking for a really reasonably priced hotel!

This charming boutique hotel has exceeded my already high expectations. It’s is beautiful, so much attention to detail. My room was huge and very comfortable with vintage style furnishings. The views of San Miguel de Allende are are stunning! It’s a short walk down the hill to the centre of town. I walked back up the hill easily, but there is a bus / taxis. Oscar is lovely and so helpful from the moment I arrived until I departed.

We had an incredible stay at El Mesón del Quijote! From the moment we arrived, Oscar and the rest of the staff were incredibly welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the whole hotel is beautiful. It’s clear that the staff have taken great care with small details. The hotel was quiet but still close to the city center. As some reviews have mentioned, the hotel is on a hill, but it’s easy to take a taxi if you are not up for walking. We would love to return and stay here again!

Owner Oscar was very kind,helpful. Ihad full sized bedroom, small but okay with us . If you big,you should have king bed. property maintained clean.on very noisy street but inside rooms are quiet. This hotel is good for younger guests.

This is a fine hotel, I would just make sure that you have a room that isn't on the first floor. Mine had windows that faced the interior walkway, so no view and plenty of noise, which isn't great for light sleepers. Otherwise the place is quite nice!

I have to say that Oscar, the owner of this hotel is extremely nice and accommodating. There wasn't any issues but had been the case, he wouldn't have hesitate to solve it. I'm recommending this place to all my friends.

It was deceiving it states they have onsite and offsite parking which is not true they only have 1 handicap parking and even tho I am handicap my car didn’t fit in the parking area so we had to park like 4 blocks away and walk to the hotel with our luggage,

Agradecemos tus comentarios, pero creo que son subjetivos, su coche se cabía en el espacio establecido para el ascenso y descenso momentáneo, tan es así que en su check out les traje su coche y lo estacioné ahí precisamente y lo abordaron; las instrucciones de la logística del estacionamiento están publicitadas en la página web; respecto a caminar (dicen 4 cuadras cuando se estacionaron en el mirador) se les dijo que estacionaran en el hotel sin embargo ustedes no quisieron hacerlo, nosotros asumimos nuestra parte de responsabilidad por el error de comunicación que hubo al momento de su llegada pero creo que en honor a lo honestidad los hechos no son tal y como ustedes lo externan, agradecemos de nueva cuenta su reservación con nosotros, esperado que hayan llegado con bien a su destino, les envío un cordial saludo.

Very tidy and spacious, with roof access offering a view of the city. Walking to the hotel from the central plaza is quite a workout, so you may need Uber rides if the walk isn't appealing. The hotel is located near the official mirador (viewpoint) park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 8-night stay at El Meson del Quijote, and we would love to stay there again in the future. The owner and staff were welcoming and helpful, and the room and facilities were beautifully decorated and clean. The location was great for us even though it was up the hill from El Centro; taxis and buses are available if you want to ride, but we just walked. Thank you to everyone at El Meson del Quijote for a perfect stay!
