My only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars was how the bathroom was laid out. You have to get into the shower to turn it on, and outside of the shower the towel bar is placed higher than most I have encountered. Also I am not a fan of bowl sinks. However - the rest of the room was very nicely planned , and very clean. I had not been in years, and it was nice to see the property restored so well. I would definitely come back. Staff was very pleasant and helpful.

Very nice and comfortable stay for a short trip to see the total eclipse. Clean, nice and easily located. The only issue with the room was the water temperature it was lukewarm. But otherwise very comfortable. The hotel restaurant was good. The hostess at the restaurant (I believe her name was Erica) was VERY nice and helpful in getting us a table in what was obviously a very busy time. I’d definitely recommend this to those staying in Saranac Lake.

This is an old hotel that they've done a nice job refurbishing. It's clean and the staff are very friendly. We had late dinner at Campfire with our group, the server was friendly and funny. My one word of caution, if you're put in an adjoining room (and aren't actually travelling with the people next door). I would ask to be moved. The doors between the rooms are old and wooden, they don't go entirely to the floor meaning you hear, and smell, everything that's happening in the next room.

This is a top chain facility that benefits from being central to the Village of Saranac Lake, NY. If you like exploring the Adirondacks, this hotel is a must stay. The Great Room is a must see.

The in room amenities were lacking, no coffee pot. There is one downstairs so not the end of the world but in room is nice

We stayed two nights in cold rainy weather, but the hotel was a highlight of our trip.Large rooms high ceilings and updated. Nicely taken care of, and we enjoy the vintage touches from the grand style of living. Staff that we interacted with at reception and breakfast was very friendly and professional.

Staying at this lovely old hotel is like a step back in time but with all wonderful modern amenities. Rooms are comfy and handsome and interesting. So much fun to stay here! Staff is the best!

This was our first time staying at Hotel Saranac and we really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in December. Check-in and check-out were effortless and the staff was helpful and friendly. We loved the restaurant in the hotel, Campfire Adirondack Bar Grill, definitely get the burger, my husband hasn’t stopped talking about it, one of the best he’s had and the temperature was perfect. The craft cocktail at the restaurant and the bar on the second floor were delicious and were perfect for the season. Parking was free and very easy to find as it’s right next to the property. The hotel is also walking distance to the town and local shops. Highly recommended the Blue Moon Cafe 10/10. We’re already planning our stay to come back in the summer for some hiking and we’ll be staying here again.

This hotel is a treasure! Like stepping back in time to the ‘20’s! I loved the bar/sitting area on the second floor. Stunning. Comfortable beds and convenient free parking. A coffee maker in the room would be a nice add, but on the flip side, I enjoyed chatting with the guy who was setting up the coffee area. He told me all about the ghosts who supposedly live in the hotel. Then I googled the stories and really enjoyed reading them. I would love to come back for a murder mystery weekend or just an anytime stay. The guy at the desk when we checked in and out was super nice as well.

Very nice hotel. The room was small but was perfect for my short stay. Clean and very comfortable bed. The only drawback was I could hear the ppl next to me after 10pm. Service for breakfast was a little slow. The happy hour in the Great Hall was nice and the bartender was attentive. The bartender in Camp Fire was great too! Very convenient to everything!
