House on the Golden Circle, close to Flúðir

The House is located in Árnes, only 5 min drive from the house you are in Árnes, where you can find Gas Station, mini market and shop, there is also a small and cosy swimming pool and a soccer field.  In Árnes you can find Þjórsárstofa visiting center for tourists where you can find information about the area.  
From Árnes you can drive further and find one of the most beautiful places in Iceland, Gjáin.  You can also find waterfalls Hjálparfoss , Háifoss and Granni , Háifoss height is 122m and is the fourth highest waterfall in Iceland.

Town Flúðir is only 10 min away, where you can find Secret Lagoon, swimming pool, small grocery store, and Vínbúð ( liquor store ).  
Town Reykholt is also close by, there you have the popular tomato farm Friðheimar ( one of the most popular place to go on the golden circle ).  Farm Efstidalur is also not far away, there is a nice restaurant and homemade made ice cream.  Laugavatn is also not far away, there you have Fontana ( sauna place ).  And of course the highlight of the Golden Circle Gullfoss and Geysir is close by.  It's a great place in the Icelandic countryside.

Our house has 3 bedrooms, each bedroom has a Double bed ( 140x200 cm ).  Then we have 2 foldable single beds ( 90x200cm ) that can be placed in the bedrooms ( one per bedroom ) or in the living room.  We have two bathrooms, both with nice showers and the bathroom next to the master bedroom has an infrared Sauna.  Kitchen is fully loaded with everything you need.  

Outside we have Hot Pot / Jazzuci.  

In the living room we have a fireplace, it's NOT a normal fireplace where you burn wood .. it's not used to heat the house, the house is heated with hot water that runs in the floors.  The fireplace is a gas fireplace but it's not working at the moment after one of our guests damaged it.  Instead you can use the Tenderflame unit that we have ( see picture ) and you can light candles to have a cosy evening in the living room ( see picture )

During winter time it's a good location to see the Aurora / Northern lights ( if the weather condition is right ), you can see two pictures of the Aurora lights, taken outside the house by one of our guests.

We have a baby crib and high chair for your children.

We provide linen, towels and soap etc.

We manage over 100 properties here in Iceland, most of them in the Reykjavik area and also few outside of Reykjavik.  Please let us know if you would like to split your stay, some nights in Reykjavik and some outside of Reykjavik.  We also offer long term renting.

Wonderful location!
This property was a great location allowing us to visit all the sites within driving distance each day. The house was very cute and well maintained. Nice quiet location with a view. Definitely recommend staying for week.

Cozy Home in the Country
This was the perfect home base for my husband and I while we spent time im South Iceland. The location perfectly balanced our desire for privacy/seclusion while still being writhing reasonable driving distance to stops on the Golden Circle and great food in Selfoss. The hot tub was a perfect way to relax at the end of the day. We were also very blessed to see a spectacular showing of the Northern Lights on our first night.

Amazing stay
The location was absolutely amazing, it’s location is perfect for if you want to do golden circle; or south coast. All information was provided by host in email. Answered all questions I had, the inside of the house was beautiful. Tons of amenities provided. We enjoyed our stay and got lucky to catch a beautiful northern lights show on our last day thanks to this property being where it was. Will be returning to this property when we come back.

Lovely, quiet house, with friendly horses down the road! Easy check-in and very responsive host. Expansive views from the house and relatively short drives to various waterfalls and hikes nearby. Great kitchen; had everything we needed for cooking. Loved the hot pot outside too! Hope to return!

Pleasant stay in a comfortable home
My wife and 5 year old and I enjoyed our 3 nights, the hot tub outside was nice and the place felt like home, the owner was responsive and helpful, and it was a good drivable base for day excursions. It was a nice stay, and good house layout.

Beautiful location. Ideal for golden circle and exploring
Very clean. Well stocked. Lots of space. Me and my extended family (two adults, four kids) had a wonderful time. All three of the bedrooms contain double beds, which were listed as twin beds. This was a little problematic for my teenage son and daughter, but fortunately the hosts provided an extra (fold up) bed for us to use.

This is a fantastic and cozy base to explore the Golden circle. It was spacious, secluded and had all the comforts we wanted. The views are expansive and sunrise/sunset were gorgeous no matter what the weather.

Magical - Met all expectations
This was an 8 day stay and our goal was to hike and see the wonders of natural Iceland. Here's what we loved about this place: Location! – best in all of Iceland – we hit gaifoss, landmannalugar, glymur, vic, glacier lagoon, and 5 more amazing canyons and falls – you could travel 15 minutes or 4 hours for amazing hikes. The drives are really nothing because they are in the most beautiful countryside in the world and the sun never set for us. Close for groceries (5 minutes for quick items and 30 minutes for a Kronan store) Modern kitchen – great cooktop and fridge and dishwasher Beds – very comfortable, best nights of sleep ever, bring a really good eye covering Windows – beautiful view of three volcanoes every day and night Quiet and Private – good sense of being alone (with horses) Bathrooms – modern, spacious and clean, heating rack for towels, big showers, We will be coming back.

Home is exactly as advertised. Located approximately an hour from Reykjavik. A car is necessary- day trips are within reasonable driving distance (most key sights are within an hour). Owner very responsive.

Week in Iceland
Very modern, clean, well located villa. Good furniture and kitchen although some other amenities were poor. The gas fire was broken (this was advertised) but given how lovely the house was, the owner should repair the fire to complete the experience. A very old HiFi with no Bluetooth had my children amused and bemoaning that the did not pack their own speakers! Not a big issue, but the reason only 4 stars and not 5, many of the drawers and wardrobes had the owner's possessions in them, which made storage for our clothes an issue. We were a family of 4 with only one suitcase each. If the owner were to consolidate their clothing and stuff into one secure area, then it would feel more like a rented holiday villa and not a friend's house you were borrowing. All these are easy issues to address and if resolved, would make a wonderful 5* experience

Clean house in a beautiful, quiet setting
We enjoyed our four days here and found the house to be in an ideal location for our purpose - to explore the areas around the Golden Circle and Selfoss before driving the southern coast. The house was clean, and the kitchen had everything we needed and more. We loved the wide open space outside our windows and watching our neighbors, the horses! I recommend the house but want future guests to know that we found the taste of the water from the tap to be unpleasant and undrinkable. We just made sure we kept a good supply of bottled water.

If you want city life....1st of all. Stay away from Iceland. It is not for you. If you love clean air open spaces and majestic scenery. Then this is the place for you. Everything with the property was just as it needed to be. Thanks to our host for a wonderful stay in Iceland.

Great place and location
Our main purpose of the trip was to see the northern lights in a secluded location that is central to south Iceland. This location fit the bill perfectly and the home itself was quite nice with a few notes. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family noting a few exceptions that are listed below. The bathrooms were very nicely updated, but note that when using the hot water you get a sulfur-like smell. Didn't bother us too much as the remainder of the place was amazing. Living room was nice and spacious but note that you cannot use the fireplace and the entertainment is limited to a DVDs (no over the air channels or Cable TV). Surrounding area - spectacular view and I have to say again the location is breathtaking. If you are going to travel during the Winter make sure that you have an SUV with Winter Tires because the road leading up to the place is a bit tough to tackle. Also if travelling during the winter be careful of ice on the deck and entrances.

Beyond awesome!
We arrived on an evening with hurricane strength winds, road closures, and a potential to be stranded and miserable. Our host however was a calming resource that not only went out of his way to ensure our comfort but kept us abreast of the local conditions to keep us safe as well. None of which was required or even expected of him. And as if that were not enough... the house. Awe-mazing!! True to the pictures. Breathtakingly beautiful. Serene and peaceful. We found this light, bright home fresh and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped and everything was in working order. A very relaxing place to share a meal with family and friends after hiking and other Icelandic adventures. Incredibly peaceful setting. Four adorable horses grazed in the fields behind the house. The house location was excellent for day trips all over southern Iceland including Reykjavik, the Westman Islands, Vik, and many other sites including volcanos waterfalls, and glaciers.

Quiet, Clean, Lots of Space, Nice Owner
We stayed at the house 3 nights - it was close enough to the Golden Circle and Landmannalaugar to break up the days/hikes. The house large enough to accommodate more than the 5 of us, but we had plenty of space to spread out while we were there. The owner was very nice and helpful. While it is off the beaten path, the location is convenient and it was very quiet at night.
