Iceland Hotel & Resort Travel Guide

If the best whale watching or visions of glacier lagoons, undersea geysers, steaming mineral springs, and the gem tones of an aurora borealis don't urge you to find cheap hotel deals in Iceland, you should probably check your pulse and book some rooms right away before the special discount rates are gobbled up by your fellow world travelers. Vacationing in bright, unspoiled Iceland is no longer a secret. The country offers too many interesting options.

Brace yourself for a northern adventure in a land settled by Vikings, where the sun never quite sets in the summer. The hours of daylight make Iceland hotel packages a true bargain. Forget about laying around with sand sticking to your tanning oil in Iceland. You'll be too busy driving a snowmobile towards the top of a glacier in the morning and enjoying your reservations for a midnight whale watch later that day.

Iceland may be the ultimate northern vacation spot. Fans of extreme landscapes will relish the guided glacier walks, jaunts to lagoons packed with icebergs, tours of the lava tube caves, and helicopter rides near the brink of a spectacular volcano. Iceland hotel deals are the best way to experience the Golden Circle, a tour of Iceland's topographical highlights. The Golden Circle excursion includes Gullfoss Waterfall, Strokkur Geyser, and a volcanic crater lake.

Hotels in Iceland cater to tourists who are interested in very active vacations. Snorkel through the clear, otherworldly-blue waters of Silfra fissure or dive the deep geothermal springs. You can fish for wild salmon and arctic char, or whitewater raft down a glacial river twisting through jagged volcanic rock canyons. To change the pace, take the ferry from the West Fjords to Flatey Island and stroll through a village that has remained largely unchanged since the 1800's.

The capital city, Reykjavik, offers great prices and the most chances to find a cheap Iceland hotel deal. Reykjavik is the site of Iceland’s first permanent settlement, and experts consider it one of the cleanest, safest cities in the world. Reykjavik offers all the benefits of a modern city; it has been called the nightlife capital of the north. There are plenty of clubs, museums, concert halls, spas, and boutiques near the Iceland hotels to pack your nights with as much action as your days.

" Great Location Comfortable Room in Reykjavik"
Expedia relocated us to this hotel after our primary hotel (Apotek Hotel) was overbooked. The Centrum hotel has a great location. We were within walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Reykjavik. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was good. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Great hotel, even better location "
Hotel staff were amazing every time we had a question they promptly answered. The location of the hotel is less than 5 yards of the main shopping street in City centre which even for such a small city as this one is just perfect. I would definitely recommend this hotel to any friends travelling to Iceland.

"Basic Hotel Close to Many Interesting Sites"
Clean and functional hotel with shared bathroom and wireless only in common area, but that was as expected. Wireless did perform well. No problems with getting into shared facilities when needed. Reasonably priced considering the area. Outstanding location! Converted schoolhouse with interesting history and book in room describing points of interest in the area. No problems with check in.

    "Decent hotel outside of Vík"
Well. It's situated outside of Vik, which I honestly liked since there isn't much to do in Vik otherwise so I might as well enjoy more spacious parking. It's maybe 5 minutes driving, probably less. Check in staff was very nice and helped us locate a market (the market itself has limited selection and closes by 20:00). They were very accommodating in giving us a double and single room in place of our three single beds. The hot tub looks nice though we did not use it. The restaurant and bar were open until 21:30. The bathroom was spacious, though I did not like how the water was hot and then cold. It was very clean. The room had an unusual smell. The mattresses were okay. I was bothered by the various holes in the fitted sheets--though they seemed clean. No tea or coffee bags provided along with the kettle; not sure if this cultural or not. For the price we paid... I mean really. I expected at least bad coffee. Breakfast was decent. Some deli meats and cheeses, cereals, porridge, waffles, bread, coffee. Also note: I don't believe there is 24/7 front desk service, so if you are late arrival, I would contact them directly as they advertise.

    "Great hotel close to Vik"
Room was very and clean and the self serve breakfast was excellent. Only drawback was the bad wifi and the tiny single beds in the 4 bed family room.
