The room we were given was slanted and every time we walked in the room, it was like walking at an angle. The room also had windows overlooking the air conditioning /heating units on the roof. The level of noise in our room was unacceptable.There was also a musty smell that would not go away - even with the window open. That room should not be given out for guests.It is a very old hotel with its charm but that room should never be made available.

Lovely old place in its time, but now needs a painting and repair job. The signs are misleading as they say boutiques and restaurants, neither being true anymore. If you are on the 4th floor you have to walk up two flights of stairs dragging your suitcase and no offer of help ( we must look younger than our 75 years!) comfortable, decent breakfast, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone other than for the location.

We were here years ago and loved it but not so much this time. Lovely when you saw water, not The Keg(not your fault though) and we loved the boutique back then. We are in our mid 70s and had to walk up a set of stairs with our luggage to the 4th floor. No one offered to help and we were fine but other seniors would find this too much. In the bathroom the toilet paper was beyond arm’s length behind the toilet….surely you could use a standing holder in the front beside the sink. All in all, our stay here was fine. Nothing great, but nothing terrible either.

Do not stay at this hotel unless you plan to stay up until 4 am and sleep all day! Directly behind this hotel, a dozen bars and restaurants on Water and George streets blare music *outside* on the street, creating a cacophony that reverberates in and around Murray Premises until 3 am or later. We notified the hotel that we'd be arriving around 10 pm from our flight, and instead of saving us a room fit for weary travelers, we got the worst possible one: room 304 sits at eye and ear level with the back gate opening to the raucous party streets, funneling the sound waves straight into the window while the hotel's stone U shape creates an echo chamber to amplify the noise. We asked to change rooms but we're told the vacant rooms weren't clean - what type of hotel doesn't clean all rooms once guests leave for the day? Not only does that mean turning away any reservations that come in that evening, it also means you can't accommodate guests who want to SLEEP. We ended up leaving after 1 am and staying at another hotel 1km away, where it was blissfully silent. No refund of course.

I like the history and the decor. I did not like that my fireplace did not work as I discovered the plug socket was not working only the morning I was leaving. Breakfast should not be called breakfast it was not what I call breakfast. Plus for awhile the elevators was not working.
