We spent one day and night at this hotel. Beautiful view of the Whiteface mountains. Very home like atmosphere. Nice rooms with everything you need. Owner of the place very nice and helpful. Lots of toys for kids to play with. My 2 and 4 year old had a blast there. Huge living room with tables board games tv etc. I would definitely recommend it and come back there again.

So sorry to hear the inn did not meet your expectations.. Wish I had been able to make good on what ever they were. Unique place to stay in a great location.
The Inn at Whiteface is a special place. Ingrid makes you feel at home as soon as you get there. It feels more like you are staying in her house, rather than a hotel. She keeps the place clean and cozy. Magnificent views of Whiteface Mountain from the rear rooms. You will enjoy your stay here.

When a confirmation is not a confirmation
The room was comfortable but the outside of the inn was in disrepair. Sign/lights outside were broken. It did not look very inviting from the outside. On our way to breakfast the morning after our stay we were grilled by the owner on who we were (she never asked when we checked in - just said “you obviously are not the the father/son booking so here’s the other room”) and were told we had taken someone else’s room and that our reservation had not been confirmed by the owner despite the fact that we had a confirmation from hotels.com. It was a very odd experience. She did not seem to understand her technology because she kept saying there was some mix up and she had cancelled our hotels.com confirmation however we were never notified of that by her or hotels.com. I felt like we were being blamed for arriving there and taking some else’s room.

Great family vacation! A toy corner for young children. Lots of games for friendly competition. Toys and towels for the local beach. It felt like home. A little faded but clean and comfortable. Great view. The owner is very accommodating and felt like visiting a favorite aunt. No a/c but fans brought the cool mountain air in. Country cute decorations

We loved staying in the fishing room for the night. It was clean, homey and comfortable. In the morning we woke up had a good breakfast and made the 2 minute drive to Whiteface.

The property's view of Whiteface Mtn. is stunning. Ingrid the Innkeeper is a lovely woman, helpful and friendly. I left my shoes there, she emailed me right away offering to send them back. I had lost my drivers license and she was up early the next morning searching online for the best way to get a replacement. For anyone looking for a quiet, clean, homey Adirondack spot, look no further.

The proprietor was very friendly and helpful. It was hot and there was no air conditioning but plenty of fans. The fans were fine and the hot weather did not cause any sleeping issues....partly New York country evening cool downs.

Great Service, Modest Pricing, Cozy Stay
Overall our stay was great. Although the property was a little outdated, the Inn Keeper was very accommodating and courteous. We had originally booked the "golf room" which was on the street side of the hotel but she informed us at check in that we could stay in a room on the other side of the Inn, which had a bigger television and a great view of Whiteface. The bathroom was well maintained and the beds were relatively comfortable. The Inn was a short drive to many different sight seeing hot spots and about a 15 minute drive to downtown Lake Placid. The Inn was well worth the money spent and very modest in price compared to other places to stay in the area. We were very pleased with our experience and will be sure to recommend the Inn to others looking for a nice place to stay without breaking the bank.

Some rooms have great view but need upgrade
The host is nice. If stay at right room then the view is great. Bed is comfortable. Room is rustic design and cute. But the property really need some renovation, the roof need be changed. The bathroom wall paper is cracking. Although we were at second floor but can see water stain on ceiling tile. No AC, however with window fan can cool the room. With the condition of the property, the price is high.

Hi, Thank-you for taking the time to comment. I feel bad that you found the price high as I am way under what I could charge in comparing prices in the area. Many choose the inn because of the reasonable price. You are right about the roof, etc. My main interest is updating the inn to get it ready for sale. If you know anyone who would be interested there is a $10,000 gift to the person who sends me the buyer. July 4th road trip
Fair price, neat and clean room, very friendly and helpful owner and staff!! Loved the view out from the window of the Adirondack room. The facility is older but does have a comfortable feel. Fresh mountain air keeps you cool at night so no need for air conditioning. Close to the road and easy parking access with no traffic noise!! We had a great time on this impromptu road trip!! Would recommend for family stay or a quiet getaway...

Place to crash after hiking high peaks
We checked into the inn last minute after extending the holiday weekend to get 2 more high peaks under our belt. Check in was frustrating d/t a couple of things. We were tired obviously however it is always frustrating to walk up to a facility and have the doors be locked, then call the number written on the sign and have it go straight to voicemail. After knocking and waiting a bit I was let in only to discover the room was not ready and the reservation I made had not been acknowledged by the inn yet. The inn it's self is outdated. But for a place to crash after a full day of hiking the beds were comfy and it was quiet.

Sorry to hear of your less then perfect experience. When guests book thru expedia in the last minute and arrive before I am aware of the reservation it can cause a problem. Nice B & B close to Lake Placid
Ingrid, your hostess, works hard to make sure that your stay is enjoyable. This B & B is great for families with children with a lot of space to spread out and relax. A continental breakfast is included with the rate but Ingrid is more than happy to accomodate additional breakfast requests. And you can't beat the view of Whiteface Mt. outside the back rooms.

Closest to Whiteface and nice enough
Really feels like a big bed-and-breakfast, run very informally by Ingid, who is very friendly - sometimes perhaps TOO friendly. Hallways and rooms are crammed with cutesie knick-knacks. Beds aren't as comfortable as you'd get at a major hotel chain, but the proximity to the mountain can't be beat - literally 1/4 mile down the road. Not many options for dinner close by, but enough to get by for a few days. The 8 mile drive into Lake Placid can be treacherous in the evening, depending on the weather - winding, hilly and dark country rode with 50 mph speed limit. But the views out the back windows and the location for skiers are fantastic.

The mountain view is beautiful, but this place needs to be renovated. For the price I paid for 1 night I was expecting a lot more. No food, bar, internet. It's up for sale, so whoever buys it I hope they do something with it.it does have great views

Thank-you for taking out the time to comment. I view complaints as constructive criticism and appreciate them. We do have renovations scheduled as soon as the busy season is over. You may not have known that it was Ironman week-end when prices are at their highest in the area with four and five night minimums. In the future I recommend that you avoid this area that week-end. The inn is a B&B not a restaurant or bar. There is a BYOB with wine glasses, ice, etc. and 2 restaurants within a mile. There is also complimentary high speed WIFI in our rooms and common areas. I hope that you will try The Inn again when you have more time as we are set up for longer then a one night stay. We try to offer our guests a home away from home and are sorry that you were a bit dissatisfied.
