Experience a piece of history by staying in the home that gold miner, Mel Davis, built in the 1930's. Golden Lodge is situated in a gorgeous mountain setting just 3 mi. off I-5. Surrounded by towering Douglas fir, rest, unwind, & enjoy the peace & quietude that Golden Lodge has to offer! Have breakfast on your own private porch with views of the woods. Take a relaxing walk on nearby trails or bike along the scenic country road while breathing in the fresh, mountain air. Drive up to the abandoned, mining town of Golden a 1/4 mile away. Plan an exhilarating rafting trip down the Rogue River or shop & eat out in nearby Grants Pass. Bask in the plentiful sunshine of southern Oregon! View the vivid stars at night that don't compete with light pollution!

Guests will feel right at home with private entrance and keyless entry, private redwood deck, cathedral ceiling, and a room furnished and decorated with country charm. Looking out the room's windows, Iceberg roses are a favorite, that bloom almost year round. The room has ductless heating or air-conditioning, but for added ambiance you may opt to try out the wood burning stove. Stephanie was such a gracious host, everything went as anticipated and the place was so darling! We didn’t have much time to explore, but were grateful for the wonderful hospitality and opportunity to share this charming home! Peaceful Getaway with so Many Thoughtful Touches
I haven't been at a vrbo ever that had SO many thoughtful touches. The owner has anything and everything that you might need for your time there. She made us waffle batter and we enjoyed delicious waffles for breakfast. My husband and I LOVED the back porch which is peaceful secluded. This property is off the beaten path in the woods and is so quiet and relaxing. We drove minutes up the road to check out Golden, an abandoned mining town, which was interesting to see. Also, the owner had VERY clear instructions for all things about the property. A lot of care has gone into making this property nice, clean, and comfortable. A couple notes- make sure you have all groceries and food bc the town of Wolf Creek doesn't have much (the owner did mention this in her thorough check-in message sent prior to arrival). Also, the only negative, the kitchen (which is perfectly equipped) is in fact the main house's laundry room. I don't think the owners ever came in, but when you are in the kitchen you can hear dishes clanking and phone calls bc their kitchen is directly beyond the door. I will say that the owners and their children obviously tried very hard to be quiet and not disturb us, but it was a little awkward to hear them. That said, the peace and relaxing and comfortable bed and thoughtful touches would definitely bring us back to this property.

The cottage is so peaceful and in a beautiful setting. Not too far from town, but still seems secluded. There is lots of history to explore. A home run!

Ot as represented. The space is just a bedroom in the host’s house separated by a galley kitchen. I could hear the host and her kids in the next room or running their ATVs around the cluttered property.

Quite little apartment with a cabin feel
Beautifully decorated apartment attached to the main house, but never really felt like an apartment. It has a cabin feel and is nicely decorated with all the amenities you will need for an overnight, weekend or couple days stay. Very private and wooded with a little deck outside. Overall a great stay!

Golden Stay!
My boyfriend and I spent 3 months with Steph and Tim in their cozy guest housing, and absolutely loved it! They went above and beyond to accommodate us, and were very easy to communicate with if anything came up. They opened a room in their home for some family of ours who came to visit! They truly went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. And have such a cozy environment, it was very easy to feel at home. We were there over the winter holidays and they sang Christmas carols and brought us gifts. You can tell it brings them great pleasure to host guests in their home, I would highly recommend a stay at the Golden Lodge with the Golden Hosts!

A very relaxing atmosphere in among the trees. Very quiet. Comfortable bed, walk in shower. Was very clean. We were greeted with a toasty wood stove fire. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wanted to get away from the noise of the city.

The porch is HEAVEN!
We stayed labor day weekend with our 2 teenage girls. There is one queen bed and the girls used the sleeping mats, which they said were very comfortable. There is plenty of room for all 4 of us and we weren't smashed together at, very spacious. We had a very relaxing stay. It's so quiet and peaceful, and the porch in the evening time is heaven. It's calm and so relaxing.. We saw a Turkey and her babies walking through, and the owners cats are so loveable. We made meals here, as there is a full size fridge that allows for you to bring everything you might need and plenty of pots, pans, plates, bowls and untensils. Stephanie also made the best waffle batter for the waffle maker! Make sure and ask her about that! Don't go buy store bought, lol. The wifi works great, and there is television with SAT and Roku. Stephanie let us use her cards and dominoes as well. Lots of area to walk around and close to Grant's Pass if you need stuff. It's so well stocked, you dont need much except food. That makes life so easy, when everything is thought of, and right at your finger tips. This little suite is cheaper than a hotel room, and so clean and comfortable. I would reccomend you stay here. We definetly will book again in the future.
