Arizona Coyotes Ticket Information

Since leaving Winnipeg in 1996, the Arizona Coyotes (originally known as the Phoenix Coyotes) have been fighting it out for a chance to bring home their first Stanley Cup. Throughout their history, the team has seen its share of off-the-ice drama as well as on-ice heroics from players like Nikolai Khabibulin and Martin Hanzal. Whether you pick up tickets to see a game against a rival team like the Detroit Red Wings or you want to see the team beat up on divisional foes like the Los Angeles Kings or Anaheim Ducks, an Arizona Coyotes game at Gila River Arena in Glendale is your chance to get out of the sun and into a comfortable seat for a hockey game.

Arizona Coyotes History

Founded in 1971 as the Winnipeg Jets (not to be confused with the current Winnipeg Jets who started out as the Atlanta Thrashers), the team saw a great deal of success in its early years as a member of the World Hockey Association. After the WHA collapsed and the team joined the NHL, their early triumphs turned into many years of lackluster play. Then in 1996, a group of investors decided to buy the team and relocate it to Phoenix, and in that year the team made it to the NHL Playoffs. Though they lost to the Anaheim Ducks, the Coyotes had a solid foundation and made it to the postseason each of the next 3 years. By 2009, the business side of the team ran into some trouble due to a bankruptcy and changing ownership groups. After nearly leaving for Seattle, the city of Glendale stepped in and saved the team, which led to the team dropping “Phoenix” from its name to become the Arizona Coyotes. The team hasn’t made it back to the playoffs since they stabilized, but they are on solid ground for a bright and victorious future.
