Great Rooms; Amazing Restaurants; Not for beach

Posted May 5, 2015
Pros: Beautiful Rooms; Outstanding Restaurants. Beau Rivage was fantastic. Ferry to Hamilton was a very convenient.
Cons: Hotel service could be better. The Concierge did not know basic things about restaurant or pool hours, and could have been a bit more accommodating.
Beautiful, large rooms (suites) with full kitchens and great view of the Harbor. The Beau Rivage restaurant is a gem. The one drawback is that this hotel is on the harbor, and not on the beach. They have an "affiliation" with Coral Reef Hotel for use of the beach, but the beach itself is laughably poor compared with other options on the island.

transportation challenges

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: Very nice accommodations, excellent staff, very good restaurant
Cons: Shuttle transportation to other island locations
Location: No beach, golf requires a shuttle, but the location is absolutely beautiful
There is a water ferry to Hamilton, and shuttle to the golf course, but otherwise travel is by taxi, which is rather expensive, moped, or by bus, which requires a walk to the bus stop.

Relaxing vacation

Posted Dec 30, 2014 on Hotels
The people are the nicest people in any of the many countries that I have visited I stayed in a one bedroom suite with my 22 year old son and 23 year old daughter we had a very relaxing trip only complaint wth the hotel was that the beds were extremely uncomfortable time for new mattresses! While the housekeeping lady in the evening was extremely nice and pleasant the two daytime ladies were not very pleasant. The bellmen Eric and Tristan were also extremely nice and courteous and the front desk ladies were nice. Pleasant trip and a nice resort!

Modern Rooms, Outstanding Views (More Work Needed)

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: View, convenience, modern rooms, kind staff, and complimentary shuttle / ferry.
Cons: The hotel could use a fresh coat of paint and some updated infrastructure. It felt like we were stuck in 2002 or 1998, not nearly 2015
Location: Fourways Inn, Elbow Beach, Hamilton, and more.
The Newstead offered a wonderful view of Hamilton Harbour, convenient (& complimentary!) access to the beach and Hamilton, and clean, modern rooms with a kind staff. As such, we'd certainly stay here again, but do caution that the hotel is a bit weathered and the restaurant overrated. For example, tiles were falling off the infinity pool, the corridors felt like you were walking to a room in a motel, and the food was only so-so for the price. The bar was also disappointing. All in all, The Newstead's awesome location and view, coupled with the money they spent improving the rooms, makes it a solid choice for staying in Bermuda.

Not bad

Posted Oct 11, 2014
This hotel gives an impression of a (very fancy) apartment complex. The view of the harbor and Hamilton is wonderful. We dined a lot on the patio with our children watching tv inside. Odd location (not on the beach). Elbow beach where the shuttle takes you is pretty, large and very clean - better than horseshoe. Shuttle can take some time occasionally though so you will need some patience waiting. They have free boat which goes to Hamilton but the schedule is restrictive so we ended up taking the bus a lot - bus stop a 5-min walk. Overall good experience.

Enjoyable stay, would recommend.

Posted Oct 1, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: Return shuttle from beach to the hotel at times took longer to arrive to pick us up than we would prefer.
Location: See above
Our stay at the hotel was very enjoyable. Service was friendly, room very clean with a great view of the harbor. Water shuttle across the harbor to Hamilton was frequent and easy to use as well as the hotel's shuttle to the beach. Beach was approximately 5 minutes from the hotel, beautiful blue/green water with white sand. Infinity pool on the harbor at the hotel was wonderful. Meals were expensive but the food quality was very good.

50th wedding anniversary early (Nov. 14 2014

Posted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: What is there not to like about the Newstead Belmont Hills, from the location, friendliness of staff, great views, tremendous restaurants.
Cons: Reduced prices for food, but that is every where in Bermuda.
Location: Location is central and 5 minute boat ride to Hamilton and shuttle service to airport, golf, and restaurant.
It was a tremendous vacation, probably the best we have enjoyed. We both love Bermuda and decided to go there for our anniversary. Everyone was very friendly, the weather was beautiful, the food was great, and the hotel was beyond our expectations. We are planning to go back again.
