"A very nice hotel situated in a virgin place"
My three and five year old boys and I spent a wonderful 10 days holiday at Xixim. We enjoyed the beach, the pool and the food. The kids travelled with scooters, as there are plenty of little passages where they played. If you are looking for a comfortable human size hotel surrounded by nature... this is the right place!

"Hotel is on the beach"
If you want to relax this is the place to go. Nice pool, great beach, friendly people. A real "laid back" experience.

"Neglected hotel that needs upgrading."
The mattresses were worn. You could feel the metal springs. The room itself was bare and not welcoming. The view from the 2nd floor was to the owners lot with empty bottles and garbage lying around. The location would be not bad but maintenance and upgrading is needed. We moved out after 1 night.

    Celestun, Merida Hotel Guide

This beach town on the Gulf of Mexico is 90 minutes from Merida in the northwest corner of Yucatan. Celestun is home to the Celestun Biosphere Reserve, a salt water marsh west of town that provides a winter home to flocks of flamingos. Visit during Semana Santa when villagers float their patron saint out to sea surrounded by candles. Musical, carnivals, and dances are held regularly in the square.
