Nice close to river and lakePosted Mar 16, 2015
Pros: It's location and the proximity to the river and lake.
Cons: Up grade the rooms and provide variation of foods in the buffet.
Location: There were options for tours and river excursions.
The stay was nice though the rooms which we stayed are in need of repairs and up grade. We had an incident one morning when repairs to the water system left us with out water for about 3 hours. Also the diner buffet was oriental for the night we were there, you would expect it to be more in the way of the local foods or have different options.

Great location great weather.Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Los Lagartos Restaurant for lunch or early dinner is great!
Cons: Prices for lodging and food are quite expensive. Maid service is done very late in the day - second day we had to call them -room cleaned at 6:30 pm.
Location: Great view from room of grounds and Chagras River. Day tours were fun.
At check-in, we were assigned a room on the 1st level. We requested a room higher up and were obliged, but it wasn't ready until after 5:30 pm. They have a "captive audience", so you can't go anywhere off the property (like a local restaurant or park) unless you have a car. Beautiful lobby and main building and grounds. Don't miss the free night ride. We could walk to the on site attractions, which were very good.

hotel needs updatingPosted Feb 15, 2015
Pros: size of rooms, location, optional tours
Cons: give the hotel a good cleaning and paint it
Location: good location and lots to do near by
This hotel is OK but needs major updating and a good cleaning. The location is lovely and the rooms are big with lovely balconies and the pool area is nice. The restaurants were ok. There were lots of optional tours to take which were good

Great Views, Poor QualityPosted Feb 9, 2015
Pros: The View, the view, the view.
Cons: The potential of this facility is incredible. But the facilities need a lot of work.
Location: River cruises, bird watching, fishing.
The view from the hotel and its surroundings are magnificent. The quality of the Facility itself is very poor. This is a hotel that was built in 2000 in a very humid location and has not had any maintenance since then. The humidity smell all over the facilities, so is the mold. The food at the restaurants is good.

Avoid at all costs! (Especially this overpriced onPosted Dec 30, 2014
Where shall we start? 1. The staff are reluctant to be helpful (are they treated poorly by management?) 2. The room smelled intensely of mildew. 3. The hot water in the shower did not work. 4. Any trips through the hotel were very very expensive. 5. Hotel staff said they would pick us up at a certain time several miles from the Resort and they never came Leaving us to walk a few miles back. 6. Staff for unapologetic and extremely unhelpful in arranging transportation to and from the Resort. 7. Our stay cost 3x more than staying at the Radisson just down the street where the staff and amenities were much much more satisfying!

Great for birding and wildlife viewingPosted Dec 16, 2014
The hotel is located right on the edge of a tropical rainforest. There are lots of birds and wildlife to view even right from the property. It is adjacent to the famous Pipeline Road for a birders paradise. The hotel was clean and the rooms were large. Nice spa facility on site. Biggest drawback was the food facility was limited in options and very pricey! Views of the Chagras River were superb! Although nice for birders and wildlife enthusiast, this is not a luxury accommodation and more of a 3 star type facility.

Great Nature OptionsPosted Dec 6, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel has wonderful tour options, and was also easy to stay at with older family members. The hotel buffet and food are mediocre, but the scenery is amazing.

Luxury in the jungle.Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Eco-friendly. Very knowledgeable staff regarding the wildlife. Very focused on the outdoors.
Cons: It's a huge place, and a big chore, but keep up on the repairs.
Location: In the jungle. Visit a nearby indian village, take a hike, bird watch, go fishing, ride the tram, lay at the pool, take a spa!
This is an older facility right on the Panama Canal. The hotel and rooms are large and clean. The services are great but at times a little slow (be patient...relax...you're on vacation). The tours are comprehensive. There is a big emphasis on the canal and the ecosystem. The Clarin's Spa was fantastic! And very reasonable. The setting, in the middle of the rain forest, is one of a kind. Lying in the hammock on our terrace, listening to howler monkeys and a myriad of bird calls was quite enchanting. Free wi-fi, buffet or off the menu meals, or room service when you just feel too relaxed to walk another step. Handicap accessible in all areas. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer! We spent 3 days in the city and 5 in Gamboa. Gamboa is the best!
