"Very friendly and helpful landlady. A good breakfast. The rooms were not en suite but the bathrooms were close by and in good condition. The property was a little way out of the centre but was walkable. "

"Front desk went out of there way to make sure we had a room to stay in without us being able to communicate with them for a late check-in. We arrived at 11:45pm. Fortunately they had emailed us info on the room and location of key for it. We had a great sleep. "

"Rooms were clean and fresh, however don’t be fooled by “en suite”. All rooms share a bathroom on each floor with a sink in the room. We presumed we had our own. Other than that, we had a nice overnight stay. "

"The Melfort house is an amazing property with beautiful furnishings, lovely gardens & a spectacular view of the sea surrounded by lambs & song birds. Matthew, the host, was very accommodating & prepared an outstanding 4 course dinner & made to order Scottish breakfast. Our visit there stands out as the best in Scotland!"

"Our room was perfect! The Villa is only 2 blocks away from the shopping and dinning areas in Oban and we were able to walk to and from them easily. We also enjoyed the communal sitting area with views of the harbor and the Isle of Mull. This was our favorite accommodations throughout our 14 day stay."

"What a lovely place to stay! Darren and Karen are marvellous hosts, couldn't do enough to make our visit truly memorable. And the breakfasts were delicious, as well as superbly served. The view over the bay, and the local wildlife enjoying their breakfasts outside the window, added an extra charm ... Coupled to a superb restaurant at the hotel next door, not to mention the magnificent scenery and history of the area, we couldn't have found a more ideal place for a short holiday. "
