Very nice choice in Cabo for ocean lovers

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Beautiful crescent beach, great hotel architecture, ocean front rooms truly are, and are worth it.
Cons: Some regulation of saved chairs is needed. Resort guests often get up early to save their chairs for the whole day. Not good.
This was our fourth stay at this resort. This is not like the "city" business hotel Sheratons you've seen. It's a nice beachfront resort. Certainly not very high end, but a really beautiful well-kept property with very nice Spanish architecture, a very nice pool setup, and direct access right on the beach. The beach is why we keep coming back to this resort. My wife and I love the ocean, and this is a great place to enjoy it in Cabo. Many Cabo beaches are filled with rocks -- this has enough to make for good snorkeling, but there is a wide beautiful beach with a lot of easy ocean access.

Gorgeous Resort but extremely disappointing stay

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: The views and the architecture
Cons: service
Location: Go to the beach at baja cantina. Amazing food, great prices and great service.
This hotel has got to be one of the most picturesque places in Cabo, but I would not recommend this resort based on the service that I recieved, as well as the rest of the 25 people in our party. The service is bad in every category. Food service- an average wait for 35-45 minutes for our orders to come out; the wait staff blatantly ignored multiple people waiting to be seated. Every time we ordered the same thing (morning breakfast buffet) the price was different. We were told that the resort restaurants did not accept cash upon check in, but every restaurant did until it seemed convenient to charge our room. We had a different amount of towels in our room everyday, and when we were given one towel for two people, it took the front dest and hour and a half to deliver the towels. Forget about ordering a drink at the pool and getting it before it melts. The one department that seemed to have it together was the transportation coordinators in the front of the resort; they were always extremely helpful.

Where's the free coffee? I'm a frequent visitor!

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Pros: Beach, wait staff
Cons: Add free coffee back. Bad decision.
Location: 15 min. to Cabo, 25 to San Jose. Right in the middle of the two towns. Chilean Bay is 5 minutes and very cool for snorkeling.
We have visited the Sheraton 6 times before, 4 in the last two years. There were a few ups and downs. First the up side. The concierge and wait staff were tremendous as always. The resort is beautiful and the beach is kept clean and offers a swimmable beach at times. Pitihayas and Tomatoes are both excellent restaurants. Now, for the down side. The main hotel area is very loud. Not a lot of sound proofing between floors. It is the SPG area, and frankly, the worst area to be placed due to the noise. I would try to get one of the smaller ocean front areas with two floors only, it's very quiet. They also have done away with the free coffee area in the morning. I know, it's a small thing, but now it costs $10 for two cups of coffee. I think the free coffee went a long way to make customers feel good. The housekeeping had trouble keeping up with towels in the rooms and coffee. Unfortunately, the spring breakers hit this hotel a bit and were very obnoxious and drunk, breaking glass etc. by the pool. We hadn't experienced the spring break crowd at this hotel before because it is away from the chaos. It's typically too expensive for them to stay at the Sheraton. Overall, I would recommend this hotel, just ask where your room is at check in and bring mucho diners for the coffee.

Very Nice, but....

Posted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Beautiful setting and well maintained.
Cons: Transportation and better value at the restaurants.
Location: See comments above. Suggest shuttle service as a way to get from place to place and make it a fun adventure to do.
Beautiful setting and well maintained property. But the food offered at the restaurants there was just average, except for Girapolis (sp?) and high priced. It may be rather difficult to manuver on foot since it is very hilly and no transportation to and from is offered. If you like to venture out of the property to try other restaurants as we do, it is expensive by taxi and you feel rather isolated since it is not close or within walking distance to other places to eat. Can't beat the weather though.

Beautiful Resort

Cons: Free wifi in rooms!
The hotel was beautiful! Everything was beyond our expectations. The rooms were large and spotless and the mattress and pillows smelled clean and were so comfortable. The views, the pool the flowers and the beach, the food were all excellent. We will return!

Updated Hotel, Friendly Staff, Great Views

Posted Jan 3, 2014
Pros: Location, view, and choice of swimming pools along with organized beach activities such as beach volleyball or beach soccer
Cons: Room Conditions,Very Low water pressure in higher level room showers during peak time. On site restaurants are very expensive compared to U.S. hotel
Location: Close to down town Cabo (10 minutes drive).
We spent 6 days during Christmas holidays at this hotel. Hotel staff are very helpful, rooms are updated and generally clean. Location of this resort is great with fantastic views of the ocean. I found the on site restaurants expensive compared to the similar 4-4.5 star hotels in the U.S, probably by 15%-25%. A better option is to rent a car ( do this from U.S. and not in Mexico since prices are substantially higher in Mexico) and drive to Down town Cabo (10 minutes drive). There are two infinity pools with great views and kids pool. Great organized beach activities such as beach volley ball, beach soccer, and other sports which are all included at no extra cost during your stay.

Great Resort, just a little loud in the room

Posted Jan 2, 2014
Cons: Noise
The resort was fantastic. Beautifully maintained. Tasteful. Great service. Pitahuyas restaurant was very good. Only problem was that the room I was in was very poorly sound insulated. I stayed in 2834, on the 3rd floor. The room above was extremely noisy, and I reported the problem, but it did not go away. I should have asked to change rooms but didn't feel like packing and unpacking again. Otherwise, a great experience, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
