"Nice but isolated from the city"
The hotel is located on the northeast fringe of Marrakech close to a golf course. It is relatively isolated from the rest of the city. It has a number of restaurants associated with it that are all quite nice but there is nowhere within walking distance to buy water or groceries. I felt a bit trapped by the geographical arrangement. A decision to go into the medina required taking the hotel shuttle and a substantial time commitment. A hotel closer to the centre of town would have been better for walking to the sights from the hotel. If you have a rental car, these concerns may be mitigated. My own sense of it is that the resort experience can be had anywhere if you want to pay the money. If you want to see the city, stay in the city.

A beautiful hotel with wonderfully helpful and friendly staff providing lovely pool and breakfast facilities in the heart of heart of busy Marrakesh. A cool and welcome retreat on return from the Souks! Highly recommended!

"Excellent pool but service & location not so good"
Overall we had a pleasant stay at Kenzi Farah. The pool area really makes it - beautiful gardens, large, deep pool with enough space to lounge around it. You don't feel crammed in and you're able to relax. If you're just after a comfortable, hotel-based holiday in the sun then definitely consider this place! However - if you want to get out and about to see Marrakech, think carefully. This hotel is in a very modern, dull part of town - nothing of note around - just other big hotels. It's about a 35min walk to the main square - and further still to the Souks and other sites. The pavements around the hotel haven't all been finished yet so you find yourself walking on grainy sand, dust and gravel - difficult in sandals/flip flops. You can get taxis from right outside the hotel into town (about 10min ride) - however this involves a lot of haggling with the drivers re price. Also once inside the cab they try to take you to other places to buy Argan Oil or whatever and you have to be very firm and just say no. So getting taxis all the time can make the holiday a bit stressful unless you enjoy that sort of banter. The other thing we found disappointing was the service - really hit and miss. On one occasion we were ignored by reception for approx 15 mins as they were doing paperwork, and another gent wanting to change money was waived away v dismissively and told to come back later. All things considered - we did enjoy our stay purely because the pool area is just brilliant!

"Good bargain for a mystery deal on Expedia"
We got a good deal on mystery hotels via Expedia, if not for which we would not have selected the hotel. Check in took a while - booking through Expedia was not immediately recognised immediately at the counter. Room was alright, not much character and the toilet had not been flushed! In so many years of travelling never seen a toilet that had not been flushed from previous use. Pool was nice and pretty, pity we did not have the time to dip in. Buffet was nice and extensive over all apart from the unflushed toilet - not too bad. No hotels or things to do in the vicinity, you will have to catch a taxi and head to the center.

"Hire a car!!!!"
Very nice hotel that has unique moroccan decor. The rooms were very nice, large and laid out well. Could have been better with tea making facilities in the room, but I guess when they charge 60 dirhams (£4.50) for two cups of tea, it all becomes clear. The breakfast is ok but changes gradually everyday, as in things get slightly worse. After 7 days it is almost inedible. I would strongly recommend eating breakfast in the city. We had a hire car which turned out to be crucial as after 3 days in marakech you WILL become bored rigid as there really isnt much to do. The hotel has a shuttle service that only runs into the city (7 miles away) at 9.30 and 3.30, but this costs 25 dirhams (£1.87) per person per way. So a family of four staying for a week, it will set you back £104.72, which is only £18 short for what we paid for a hire car! With the shuttle being very limited you are almost held prisoner at the hotel. This is fine if all you want to do is sit by the pool all day and do absolutely nothing, as there really is absolutely nothing else to do there...except drink tea! Having said all of this, it really is a very nice hotel and excellent staff, as long as you have a car then you will really enjoy your stay.
