Relaxation in Nature

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: The beach and grounds was our favorite part. Lush, beautiful, clean and relaxing.
Cons: The buffet food can be improved. Nature activities like bird watching tours could be offered.
Location: Beautiful location! We did not leave the resort as we had enough to do on-site.
The beauty of the beach and low-key feel of the entire resort was fantastic. The private beach was clean and inviting, and was supplied with chairs, food, bar and activities. Activities were optional, as the relaxing water supplied what we needed for a good vacation. The resort grounds were lush, beautiful and well-maintained. The staff took great pride in their work, and seemed genuinely interested in the quality of our experience. The staff seemed to care about our happiness and enjoyment. We enjoyed watching the wildlife, and found the grounds pretty good for bird watching. Many of the species were easy to see as they were attracted to the water, and hummingbird feeders. We spent many hours on our porch watching for birds each morning, and the grounds did not disappoint us. Although the resort sprays for insects each evening, we still needed to wear insect repellant early morning and evening. The buffet food was mostly good, with a few exceptions. At times there seemed to be shortages of some popular items, and some long lines to get food. We enjoyed the Chef's Table experience and found all of the food served excellent. Overall a highly recommended resort for a quiet, relaxing vacation! We will go again.

The anti-mega resort

Posted Feb 27, 2015
1st time to this resort and we were wowed! The size is much much smaller than the big concrete mega resorts nearby, which is why we chose it. The rooms are like nowhere we've been before. So unique and intimate. The staff is like nowhere we've ever been before also! Everyone, I mean everyone, has a great attitude and truly cares about making your stay pleasant. Food was excellent! Best we've had at an all inclusive! A lot of Jamaican dishes too, which we loved! Especially the local fruit. We're younger, but we loved that this isn't the place for party down spring breakers. Very quiet in general. Easy to relax. Top shelf booze is present, but is hit or miss on what's available. Don't let the walk across the road to the beach scare you off. It's a shorter walk than most mega resorts we've been to. It has plenty of shade or sun, and you never have to get up early to reserve a chair, which we really loved! Great sunsets too! Smooth clean sand, but no snorkeling from the beach. We recommend taking the wild thing catamaran cruise. Great way to see negril and the west end and do some good snorkeling at a reasonable price. (resort price was cheaper than all other companies for same trip.) Bring bug spray with deet. Because of the lush foliage there is bugs. The real trouble we had was sand fleas/chiggers at the beach. Not sure if the hotel can do anything about that? Needless to say, we'll be back!

Paradise of Jamaica

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: Laid-back relaxed atmosphere with superior service.
Cons: Onsite cash machine Extend gift shop hours
Location: The location is perfect - far enough from Negril yet close enough to do walking trips. Beach across street less walk than larger resorts.
First time in Jamaica and will be returning to this resort. Everything is perfect from the rooms and the meals to the staff and entertainment. Love, love, LOVE it!

LOVED IT!

Posted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: We loved the tropical flowers and birds on the property; swallow-tailed hummingbirds, flocks of parrots!
Cons: Better lighting in the bathroom would be nice.
Location: Except to go to the beach, we happily stayed on the resort property!
We enjoyed 9 nights at Sunset at the Palms in mid February, 2015. This is a small property set in a lush natural setting. The food and drinks were very good, the rooms are private and lovely. The gardens, pool, beach and ESPECIALLY the entire staff are just wonderful! Each and every staff member goes out of their way to welcome you and meet your every want and need.

We liked the seclusion of our room .

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: The gardens and privacy of our room.
Cons: A lifeguard helped us line up a snorkeling boat, but in the end we were charged more by the guide so he could tip the lifeguard.
Location: We enjoyed the snorkeling as well as utilizing the kayaks available for the hotel patrons. The transport was a distance from hotel, but a nice ride.
Every single staff person we encountered, from the chefs to the grounds keepers were friendly, helpful and a pleasure to talk with. Two of the groundskeeper provided me with a personal tour of the gardens.

EXCELLENT!!!!

Posted Feb 19, 2015
Pros: Everything!
Cons: It would be beneficial that the rooms closest to the road have windows installed in them to cut down on the noise.
Location: I enjoyed the beach EVERY DAY!
The rooms are so unique. The staff is great. The beach is just gorgeous. The pool is beautiful. The buffet area is very pretty. This is a small complex so not overrun by guests. The entire vacation was wonderful. I most especially enjoyed the bartender, Clayton. He was just such a nice gentleman!

Great choice for couples

Posted Feb 17, 2015
Pros: Quiet atmosphere, Service, Discretion, Gym.
Cons: Food choice, Entertainment
Location: The location is spectacular, bloody bay is one of the best beaches I've ever seen. Take a tour to the Ricks Cafe and skip the craft market
We had a very relaxing time after a long tour of the Island. This was the perfect place where to let yourself spoil and indulge in the excellent service.

Oasis in a Tropical Forest

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Staff were what set this resort apart from any we've ever stayed at, which includes several Caribbean destinations.
Location: We did the snorkel and half moon bay cruise with lobster, which was great. Also, did the shopping excursion and Rick's Cafe.
Fabulous resort set in a tropical forest. Staff could not have been more attentive to our needs and the food was of excellent quality. The drinks, of course, were great as well. A short stroll to the beach was all it took, shorter than most mega resorts. The bar and grill once there were fabulous and there was always a chair available in the sun. We enjoyed having the resort just off the beach because it allowed you to escape the street/beach vendors. As soon as you set foot on the resort it felt like you were in an oasis. Noise was never an issue and the small resort atmosphere allowed for everyone to interact with one another. We will be back again!
