Cons: Air conditioning control more user-friendly in the rooms Air vent in the bathroom (it gets too hot to put on makeup) Add another mirror in the room
My husband and I had a great time at this resort. We didn't know what to expect but we were very pleased overall. I think that the excellent service is what makes this experience wonderful. It's great for couples because it's private with the beach right across the road. We really loved the beach grill also!

Best Trip EverPosted Jul 21, 2014
Sunset at The Palms was amazing. My wife and I went for our 1 year anniversary. It was the best quality All inclusive I have ever stayed at. Top notch food, great staff, and a beautifully romantic setting! We will be coming back for years to come! Ocean/beach is private and worth every penny spent.

As close to paradise as you'll getPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: The rooms were amazing!
Location: Parties are mostly at 7 mile beach. Nightly entertainment at SATP was adequate most nights.
SATP is unbelievable! Believe in all the good things you've heard about this resort. Just walking around the property you feel like you are in paradise. Not a day went by that we didn't see hummingbirds feeding as we walked to our room from eating of coming back from the beach. The staff is wonderful. Everyone from the front desk, bartenders (beach bar, pool bar, and martini bar), maids, wait staff at all dining rooms, head chef, omelet cook, lifeguards at the beach, crossing guards, grounds keeper were all very nice. We did not encounter one person working here that did not engage us in a positive manner. Upon checking in to our room, it was hot as an oven. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone over right away. Having traveled to the islands extensively, we joked "yeah right! We'll see you right away!". Well shame on us when we got a knock on our door not more than 3 minutes later. The mechanic charged up the freon and we were good to go. Both the front desk and the mechanic apologized for the inconvenience and were sincere in their apologies. Very refreshing to see a staff that truly cared about your comfort. The room itself is amazing. You really do have to be here to fully appreciate the ambiance. Everything from the exotic hardwood floor, to the unbelievable shower and the romantic as can be balcony, you just have to be here to experience it as words are inadequate. The beach is gorgeous.

We loved Sunset!Posted Jul 18, 2014
You never really know what you're going to get when you book just by looking at the pics online but, everything was right on point. I loved the little "tree house" room, the balcony was beautiful and spacious, and the bathroom was modern and had a multi head shower. Overall, the property was well maintained and we really loved the jungle and secluded feel. We didn't know how we were from some attractions when we booked so it would have been nice if the resort offered free shuttles anywhere. The beach was right across the street and it is gorgeous! Good food. Nice staff. Beautiful property. We definitely plan on going back!

Tranquil GetawayPosted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: friendly Staff, cleaniness of the room and the amenities.
Location: Beach is right across the street with water activities, Magaritaville a short taxi ride up the street and local eatery places.
From the moment we checked in we were greeted by the friendly staff and nice cold refreshment. We arrived very early so we were unable to check in right away. The staff showed us the grounds and offered us a courtesy room so that we can change to enjoy the beach or pool while we waited for our room. Once our room was ready(which they accomodated earlier) one of the staff members escorted us to it. It was a beautiful room, very clean and such great decor.

Wonderful HotelPosted Jul 11, 2014
Wonderful hotel with beautiful gardens, right across the street from the ocean. The water is so clear and calm and there is a bar and food right there for guests. Not too many people walk through the beach trying to sell you thing either which is nice compared to other places in Jamaica. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Nice relaxing resort.Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Treehouse accommodations, lucious jungle like setting, hard working and friendly staff, small adults only resort. Chef's table was well orchestrated.
Cons: Automatic reservations for Chef's Table and Restaurant instead of lining up. Solid bathroom door for better privacy.
Location: Not much to do in Negril. Catamaran tours are over-rated. Come for the beach and relaxation.
Sunset at the Palms is a small and quiet resort where it is easy to meet and get to know other guests in a very congenial environment. The treehouse accommodations are set in a lucious jungle like setting, well maintained by hard working gardeners. The views from the treehouse are beautifull. Inside the treehouse is a fairly spacious bedroom and modern bathroom. The fridge is always stocked with Redstripe, water and pop, all complimentary. The pool and pool bar are nice and usually not crowded. The staff are extremely friendly and very hard working. The food is decent but not overwhelming, for the most part, fairly typical and predictable. Generally you eat outdoors under fans that sometimes are not enough to fight the humidity. The beach is very nice and well maintained, staffed again by hard working beach staff. All in all, a very nice resort and well worth the money.

A couples oasisPosted Jul 3, 2014
If you're looking for a hidden gem.. this is it! Beautiful and quiet with excellent food and service. You can book excursions every day with the resort or through John Wayne tours or you can just enjoy the resort and the gorgeous beach! Want a real escape and not a generic resort? Sunset at the Palms blows the "generic" resorts away

Already planning next trip!!Posted Jun 27, 2014
Every thing exceeded our expectations!! The food was wonderful the staff for the most part very friendly, the lady in the gift shop how ever was not warm or friendly, actually she was rather hateful but we didn't let we ruin our experience. The grounds are amazing and they work around the clock to keep them that way. If you want a party this is not the place, they have adequate entertainment in the evenings until 11, but no night club atmosphere which we loved. Best vacation ever and I have traveled to a few other Caribbean locations. We saw all the other resorts by water and roadway and Sunset was definitely the best well kept. The beach Is great. Can't wait to go back!! Please use locals for excursions. We used Ryodell on the beach to the right where the vendors are.. His boat is reality 2 and you will find him around the boat close. He took us snorkeling and then to ricks another time and he was never in a hurry. We saw other people out on the water who were being made to come back and his response was he was on our time. He even got in the water with us and took us to several great places to snorkel. We used cab driver Brenton and he took us around and looked out for us like we were family. He's usually parked outside the resort. I can't say enough good things about the Resort or Jamaica. Miss it terribly already..
